Exceptional.. I love this series and this was a great installment.
Many thanks to Barbour Publishing and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really like the Gone to the dogs series. All of the books are enjoyable regardless of the author. I appreciate good Christian cozy mysteries.

This mystery was interesting and kept my attention throughout the story. The search for the missing pup had plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting.

As much as I enjoy the current mystery that the Lone Star Clinic group is trying to solve, I love watching the relationships develop. Not the relationships between the clinic family but also the new relationships as their circle widens.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
A Dog Has His Day by Janice Thompson is such a sweet book about a special little dog. And so much more knowing this sweet little doggie actually exists.

When Isabel Fuentes, adopts a feisty rescued dachshund, she has no idea what’s in store for her. A pretty fast paced story that will have you zooming through this book to see what happens next. Of course you may have to backtrack to stay with the story line. However the book gets so much more interesting when Texans quarterback, Corey Wallis’ female dachshund goes missing and everyone wants the big reward that is offered, so this has the entire town looking. You will find this fifth book in the Gone to the Dogs series a real delight to read. I love the sweet little dachshund story. My nephew has one that looks just like this one, and he is very much as sweet. These little doggies are just the sweetest breed.

If you enjoy a sweet, care free story, this is one you will love. And if you love dachshunds, then you have it made! I’m giving this very beautiful story Five Stars. Don’t forget to check put the other books in Gone to the Dogs series.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

As a dachshund owner there is no other rating that I can give but a 5 stars!
I saw that this is the fifth book in the series, and even though I didn't read any of the books before I didn't have problem with getting in the story. I really liked seeing the Isabels and Coreys best interest for Ginger, and their mutual pursuit for her, the romance was also really cute, but most of all I liked ginger. A little runner beast with a fiesty character, known as every dachshund ever.
Loved it, will buy it, will recommend it!
I want more doxie books :)

This was a cute little romantic mystery. A bit predictable, but still enjoyable. I’m a big football fan (not the Houston Texans, Go Pack Go!) so this was fun. I also owed a red dachshund named Holly. I’d read more in this series.

I’m pleased to be able to continue to read this cute fun sequel to Gone To The Dogs series. The Lone Star Vet bunch are going from single gals to married almost as quickly as Isabel’s rescued dachshund gets lost. Two times lost, but things start looking good for Isabel in the end and to her favour as she gets to know star quarterback, Corey Wallis. Where did little Ginger go? Did she get stolen or did she dig her way out of the vet’s yard? There is some tiny bit of mystery involved and everyone in this Texan town contributes to the clues to the why’s of Ginger’s disappearance. I received this e-book for free from Celebrate Lit Tour and the opinions I express are honest and my own.

The author puts in her sense of humor with in the story. It has a great setting. The daschund is adorable. This is a great story for those that love dogs and a good cozy mystery. I Alonso like that the author adds football into it all

Triniti, Lone Star groomer, offers to foster the female dachshund. Except newest professional football recruit claims the dachshund he bought for his dying mother has disappeared. In his moving to Texas, the pup got out the door. It’s all Corey has left of his mother now that she’s passed away.

Somewhere, somehow, Triniti falls in love with the pup herself. Lone Star won’t give the dog to anyone until they receive proof of ownership. All Corey needs to do is bring a copy of his dog’s bloodwork from Pennsylvania. But with his busy schedule, he hasn’t been able to get that to the clinic.

Instead, Corey’s manager brings a protest to the clinic to get Corey his dog back. The newscasters from the bigger cities arrive to see these people protesting, even one who laid Down in front of their entrance to the clinic. The foster dogsare all playing out in their enclosed yard. When they’re called back into the clinic, the dachshund is missing. Again.

Oh dear, looks like Triniti and Corey need to come up with a plan to find this rascally pup. I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because I love work the characters and all their great deeds in the name of rescue dogs. Special thanks to NetGalley and Barbour Fiction for access to this work.

This was another cute edition in the Gone to the Dogs Mysteries, focusing on Isabel the groomer of our favorite vet clinic. This story centers around a cute little dachshund who may or may not belong to a devastatingly handsome pro-football quarterback by the name of Corey Wallis. He's new to the team and Isabel is a big football fan anyway. However, when it comes to dogs, she is a fierce protector and for some reason this little one doesn't want to even let Corey hold her.

Well as you can imagine this is a big story that is entangling the clinic in a possible lawsuit and the paparazzi are swarming. Then the unthinkable happens again, and Ginger is nowhere to be found. Will Corey and Isabel team up together to find out what is exactly happening? And maybe in that teaming up another clinic worker will have their happily ever after. This was a fun and upbeat mystery, and I am glad Isabel got her story after the havoc created by her last boyfriend.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Every Dog Has His Day is a delightful addition to a wonderful series that has Gone to the Dogs! In more ways than one. I’m obviously a fan of dogs. We’ve got three German Shepherds in the house and three Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mixes (plus a few puppies) outside with the livestock. All of our dogs are spoiled and well-loved.

What I can’t say is that I’ve ever had a small dog. The smallest I’ve ever had was a sheltie. But he like the Ginger in the story was definitely a runner. He’d zoom right off the first chance he could. And then you’d spend hours trying to catch him as he would taunt you from just out of your reach.

This is such a sweet book. It’s suspense but in a low-key way. There’s a missing dog and people are off to find her. Some minor other conflicts. And football. I pretty much am not a sports person so some of the book was not my favorite but I did truly love the book overall.

You’re going to love running off with the dogs in this one! And let me tell you there is a happy ending and lots of fun along the way.

Take a canine break in Brenham, Texas...

There is no doubt about it, I love the Gone To The Dogs Mysteries series and I think that Every Dog Has His Day is probably my favorite of them so far. It really is kinda funny as I am a big dog person and I am not in any way a sports fan, but, I couldn't help but fall in love with Janice Thompson's characters both two-legged and four-legged.

Every Dog Has His (or in this case Her) Day is a perfectly charming cozy style mystery and I had the greatest time while sitting on my porch on a hot summer day reading it. There are some sad moments, some very funny ones included a scene involving bubbles, some sugary sweet ones, and the most adorable ending.

Janice Thompson has certainly done it again with this fifth Gone To The Dogs Mystery, it was entertaining and fun and exactly what I needed the day I read it. If you enjoy dogs and cozy mysteries I highly recommend this entire series. It's a definite must read in my book...pun intended...

Brenham, Texas is the kind of place I would love to visit for the special people who live there. The setting is described very well, and there are exciting events throughout the year. Nobody shines brighter there than the staff of Lone Star Veterinary Clinic, the Second Chance Dog Ranch, and their two- and four-footed loved ones.

This is my favorite in the series so far, even though I am more of a cat person. I prefer baseball or basketball to football, yet found much in common with the main characters, most of whom were football fans, plus a certain football player. I would love to have worked someplace like the clinic where most of the employees were Christians. Love and laughter, dogs and pigskin characterize this mystery!

Isabel is the groomer at Lone Star and loves the veterinarians, staff, clients, and pets. She moved to Brenham a couple years ago after inheriting her beloved grandmother, Lita’s, small home. Lita’s next-door neighbor, Carmela, had been her best friend, so Isabel and Carmela avidly cheer the Texans together even as they grieved for Lita.

Mari and her fiancé, Parker, work for the clinic and the rescue belongs to Mari. They were in Houston when getting a call from a past-capacity rescue there to pick up a small, female dachshund and brought her back to Brenham and to the clinic. She did not have a microchip, so the Houston rescue added the doxie to their web site. Isabel, a foster, took the pup in until the owner was found. Isabel fell in love with the pup on the first night she had her.

Corey was just traded from the Steelers to the Texans. Ginger, the dachshund that had belonged to his mother, ran out the door when the movers left it open. He will do anything to get Ginger back, as his mother passed away recently and he took Ginger to live with him. When he went to Brenham to pick her up, she would not let him near her, simply clung to Isabel. Corey did not bring any of her paperwork, so they could not release a dog that refused to go with him. Unfortunately, Corey’s manager was there with the press. When they would not release the dog to him, Houston football lovers had a fit. Later, when people protested outside the clinic, Ginger disappeared from the secured, outdoor play yard where several dogs were. Isabel and others suspected that Corey, with either his manager or an obnoxious news anchor, took her.

Corey could work with Isabel as she, Mari, and Parker searched for the pup, or try to find Ginger on his own. It was a delight to watch Corey and Isabel get to know each other through their shared love for Ginger and football. I enjoyed both Isabel and Corey, their values, and how underneath his love of the game, Corey was an introvert like her. Isabel had struggles with her faith; with the Lord and His help through her friends, she was working through them. There were a few new romances amongst her friends, also, which was pleasant without distracting from the mystery.

I was as stumped as they were regarding Ginger. There were several suspects, but no pup. Overall, I was very satisfied with how each situation was resolved, and did not want to see the book end. I highly recommend this for older teens and women who appreciate well-written Christian cozy mysteries with dogs, football lovers, and sweet romance.

From a thankful heart: I received a copy of this e-ARC from the publisher through Celebrate Lit and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

Here's a new read for all you dog lovers out there! This is a fun, sweet and clean, light-hearted sort of read and I loved it. "Every Dog Has It's Day" features a tiny but feisty rescue dachshund named Ginger and her Texan caretaker Isabel.

I have been enjoying this series, set in southern Texas, with its interesting characters and their wonderful dog buddies. If you like canines, don’t pass on this series. Of course, there is some sleuthing going on in each novel too. This book has a professional football star’s missing pup, who was rescued by Mari and fostered by the vet clinic’s groomer, Isabel. And wild adventures follow, which you won’t want to miss. You will witness trust and love grow and problems worked out with care and compromise. Faith plays an element in the story too. The escapades may even make you laugh out loud at times. The book can definitely stand alone, but it’s much more fun to read the series in order. Even though the books alternate between two authors, they flow along seamlessly and fit together well. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #EveryDogHasHisDay #NetGalley

Give me a story with pets, mystery, and a little romance and I'm a happy reader! Every Dog Has His Day is the fifth book in the Gone to the Dogs Mysteries series and it's just as entertaining as the previous stories. This is a fun reunion with some of the interesting, and sometimes quirky, characters from the previous books, including Grandma Peach, legendary country music star Trina, and many of the staff members from the Lone Star Vet Clinic. This time they're involved in an enjoyable tale with some puzzling twists and turns, an adorable dachshund that becomes an unlikely matchmaker, and some sweet romance just waiting to happen!

Author Janice Thompson once again proves her ability to captivate readers while avoiding the use of explicit or graphic content. Every Dog Has His Day is a perfect read for those who want intrigue and romance. Fans of cozy mysteries will love it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. I am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Every Dog Has His Day is written by Janice Thompson. This is book 5 in the Gone to the Dogs series. The books can be read as stand alones - but you will want to read them all. I love the staff of the Lone Star Veterinary Clinic. I love how we have gotten to know all of them. This is Isabel's story. She is the groomer for the clinic.

Mari finds a dachshund wandering the streets. Isabel fell in love with the feisty dachshund. However they soon find out that the dachshund may belong to Houston Texans newcomer, Cory Wallis. However something about the whole fiasco does not sit well with Isabel. When the dachshund disappears again - Isabel is worried that it is just a publicity stunt with Cory's agent.

Isabel wants to find out who is behind the dog napping - and the motive. Was it the reward money? Was it an inside job? I also loved seeing newlyweds Grandma Peach and Reverend Nelson again. Grandma Peach is so funny. Her wit and humor had me chuckling throughout the whole book.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Celebrate Lit for allowing me to read a copy of this book -- all thoughts are my own.

I’ve gotten away from the more intense suspense novels lately, but still like the whodunit aspect of a mystery. I’d say this fun cozy fit the bill for me! First, you have a cute mischievous dachshund named Ginger and sweet dog groomer Isabelle who falls in love with her. All is well until Texans quarterback Corey Wallis claims the pup is his and offers up a reward for her return. She goes missing before he can get her back and that’s when mayhem ensues and the mystery begins! Who took her and why?

I loved trying to figure this one out; which I never did until the end. I also loved getting to know the characters, and want to go back and read the previous books. This kept me engaged, interested and of course Ginger sweetened the pot! If you enjoy cozy mysteries with a side of romance, I think you will love Every Dog Has His Day!

This is a great series written by a couple different authors but each continue what the other ended with. If you live dogs, dog rescues and Brenham, Texas then this series is for you.

This cozy mystery series is so good! I love each of the stories and the cute dogs that are involved in the story. I loved how the sweet Ginger, the little dachshund, was and her ability to get into trouble. I loved how Isabel and Corey found love as they worked together to find Ginger. I also loved how the shelter and clinic would do anything to protect a dog even when it might go against popular opinion. I loved this mystery and that it was sweet and uplifting. I can’t wait for the next one.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

This is a great series and this book was fun. I really like the humor and the dogs! The romance was just right too. Izzy, the groomer is telling this story from her POV. This quarter back, and I don't care for sports much, comes to claim a pup. But Ginger might not be his, and then suddenly, Ginger is dognapped.

This causes all kinds of issues, as you would expect. The mystery is not as easy to solve as you'd think, and I like that aspect. Characters from the other books pop in or have cameo appearances, but if you don't know them yet, it still works. It will just mean more when you have read the whole series. The dog's true owner is a fun find, and I'm not spoiling any of that for you.

Thanks to Celebrate Lit for my digital copy of this book. This review is mine and is what I thought about this book. A positive review is never required.
