I enjoyed visiting this community once again and learning more about the people who work at the clinic. As I have read others in the series it was easy to understand the relationship dynamics. The dog mystery was really more of a sub plot than the main plot - which is okay to me, but good to note for those more interested in a cozy mystery than a romance. I look forward to reading more from this author as they are a good source of escaping from the stress of real life.

I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Barbour Publishing. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

This series continues to grow on me. Dogs, a little romance, a mystery, and Texas all in one combine for a fun, engaging story each and every time.

Continued cuteness in this fifth of a cozy mystery series set in Brenham, Texas. The primary setting is a veterinary clinic with the majority of characters its employees.

Groomer Isabel is passionate about football and loves watching her beloved Texans play football. When she fosters a found dachshund, the supposed owner is quite a surprise. The usual crew works together to solve a mystery while romances blossom.

In particular loved the use of one of Trina's songs to help not so beloved feline Hector and the sigh worthy ending.

I have enjoyed this series so much! Janice Thompson spreads humor throughout "Every Dog Has His Day" as the writers of the series have with the four previous books. You can read this as a stand-alone but having the back stories adds more joy to the read.
I received this book from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley. This is my own opinion about it. I was pleased that pet groomer Isabel Fuentes finally has a happy ending with her own story. We readers saw her living in fear in an earlier story with an abusive boyfriend. He has turned his life around and is trying to contact her these days. A sweet little dog is rescued by Mari's team and Isabel agrees to be her foster.
Pro football player, Corey Wallis moves to the state of Texas. His late mother's dog comes up missing and could very well be the same dog Isabel has come to love. In a big publicity splash he visits the vet clinic and reporters make the groomer out to be a villain that won't give the quarterback's dog back.
There's a mystery here, possible romance too, maybe more than one. It's a lot of fun to watch this story unfold.

What a fun book this was! I loved hearing the story of Isabel and the addition of Corey and football was the icing on the cake! I enjoyed reading more about the characters I've grown to love from the earlier books as well. This was probably my favorite book of the series!

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own

Every Dog has his Day is a great story. Lone Star Vets groomer Isabel adopts a cute little red dachshund. The problem begins when super star quarter back Cory, recently traded to the local pro team sends out an alert for his missing dachshund. Will Isabel have to give her new best friend to Cory? Well maybe but first they have to find the dog who has gone missing again. Quite the little escape artist or has the dog been kidnapped? Isabel, Cory and the Lone Star team are all looking for the pup.
Plenty of unwanted attention and lots of funny scenes unfold in this next Lone Star novel. I have read all the books in this series and have enjoyed every one. There is always something to laugh about and in the end it all works out. I like the fact that each book can be read as a stand alone though you really get to know the main characters if you read them in order. I especially loved this one because I love dachshunds and currently have two long hair red miniatures. A solid 5 of 5 stars.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY by JANICE THOMPSON is book five in the Gone to the Dogs series. It is a delightful book, with a an interesting line up of characters, both human and animal, and some excitement and mysterious happenings at the Lone Star Veterinary Clinic. Add to this a handsome Texans quarterback and his missing miniature dachshund, Ginger, a dog groomer who is fostering Ginger, a dodgy reporter and his canera man, a troupe of protesters, plenty of romance and an underlying faith message, and you have everything that makes an enjoyable read.
I have enjoyed every book in the series and Every Dog has his Day is no exception.

I really liked the blurb for Every Dog Has His Day and was thrilled when I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and the author. Unfortunately, this book just didn't do it for me. All of the Texas stuff that we were bombarded with made me dislike the state of Texas and I'm a native Texan who loves Texas, but this book was just way to full of cliches about Texas and Texans. I was surprised to read about the author at the end of the book and find out she is actually from Texas. I was sure it was someone from a different state just spouting stuff they researched about Texas. I mean, we don't all have cowboy hats and boots. I grew up with ranchs and I've never owned a cowboy hat OR boots - I also never had a horse. It was just too much. There were also way too many characters to keep track of. This was my first book in this series and maybe that made a difference in regards to the characters, but no way would I read another book by this author in this series as I'm sure it is just more of the same stereotype stuff. Weak 2 stars.

This may be my favorite installment in the "Gone to the Dogs" series yet!

The series has quickly become a "comfort series" to me--one I can easily revisit anytime, that's comfortable and feels like I'm meeting up with old friends.

The football element really made me chuckle at times; we have our share of rabid sports fans (including football) in my town, and it felt all too familiar in the best way.

There were quite a few moving parts in this book. I'll admit one plot element didn't quite get resolved to my satisfaction; I would have loved to see it fleshed out more, and it about-faced a little too quickly for my taste. But, the rest of the read more than made up for it! Very fun, and perfect for summer/fall reading.

I'm glad to see there's at least one more book in the series. Bring it on!

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I am giving this cool novel 5 stars for making it such a wonderful adventure!
Thompson does an awesome job in making these characters realistic and relatable. I love her writing!
I really am enjoying this series very much!
I'm also glad that Corey and Isabel got their own story, which just happens to be my favorite one so far!
I couldn't put the book down, so I ended up finishing it in one day! So very good!
Corey's dog was what kept me turning the pages. I wanted to see if they were able to find that poor baby!
There are some cute moments that made me smile.
I'm still thinking about this book and still smiling.
I chose this book because I'm loving this series and was happy to see it. The cover is just adorable! The puppy looks so happy without a care in the world!
I hope there's another one soon. I feel like they're my one big happy family!
My thanks to Netgalley and Barbour for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Every Dog Has His Day is the fifth installment from the Gone to the Dogs series and another contribution to it by Janice Thompson. I have enjoyed this series and this one is no different. I found Isabel and Corey's story to be a fun and entertaining one. I liked the light mystery and one that made want to see how it would all play out in the end. A wonderful little "tail".

I am giving Every Dog Has His Day fours stars. I believe fans and readers of clean cozy mysteries that feature animals will want to pick up this delightful book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Kathleen Y'Barbo's New Leash on Life.

I received a paperback copy of Janice Thompson's Every Dog Has His Day from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

I love Izzy's story! Definitely different from the others in this series, but still part of the whole story/picture. This is such a cute series! I love it!!

I knew I would love this book only by the title and I am here to gladly confirm that ! It was a lovely, compelling and cute story, and all of the characthers (including the little ginger/sasha dog) were well constructed. Altough this was part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone ( the way I did, because I didn't knew the other ones previously). A great christian fiction, with diverse characters, and also good reflections while receiving entertainment. Well done!

Every Dog Has His Day, book 5 in the Gone to the Dogs series features dog groomer Isabella Fuentes. She works at the Lone Star vets office. She's in a dilemma when football player, Corey Wallis's dog disappears. Thompson has done a fabulous job writing Isabella's story. Along with the missing dog, the veterinary office friends are preparing for the upcoming wedding of Marigold and Parker. Craziness ensues, as well of hints of romance as Isabella helps Corey find his beloved pet. I've enjoyed all the books in this series. They are lighthearted reads featuring a different dog in each one. If you're a dog lover, be prepared to enjoy Every Dog Has His Day.. I received a free copy, and my opinions are my own.

This is the fifth book in this series, and while the books do build on one another, this can be read alone.

There are wedding galore, and engagements, but there is also a lot of drama. Triniti Nelson, Lone Star Rescues, groomer, falls in love with the rescued red dachhund, only to have it claimed by the new NFL quaterback for the Texans.

The rescue gets lost, what, how does that happen, it takes a bit to find out how and whom, but the journey is a fun page turner, and throw in a bit of sweet romance and wow!

There are some very unscrupulous people, and the author gives us a few, and you will wonder how they ever got the positions that the hold!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Barbour, and was not required to give a positive review.

This is the 5th book in the series but each can be read alone. This one centers on a NFL quarterback's missing female dachshund. If you love animals especially dogs this is a great read for you. A little romance, mystery and good characters make for an interesting story. Thanks #netgalley and #BarbourPublishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

My thoughts: EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY is the 5th book in this series and while fans will want to read them all, they are stand alone. I fell in love with Corey and Isabel and couldn't wait to see if they find the missing dog. I enjoyed reading this fun, lighthearted story and almost wish I could hear the songs mentioned it. Fans of this author will want to read this book because she has announced her retiring from writing. Great book, great series. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

Cute, quick story about a missing dog and its professional football player owner. I love football and was hoping for more gameplay but I understand it was more about the dog drama.

Lots of side plot going on, but not enough to hold my interest. For example, I enjoyed the plot following the reporter and camera man, and that whole mystery with the protesters. I did not care about all of the weddings and relationships of people in the office and extended family. Found myself skimming when I wasn't reading about the dog or Corey.

This is the 5th book in the series but my first one that I have read. I feel like it can stand on its own but do think having read the other books would have given me an even deeper connection to the supporting characters. I found myself wanting to read the other books after finishing this one so I could dive deeper into the stories of the other characters.

I'm a dog lover all the way so this novel involving veterinarians, a dog rescue and a dog groomer was a perfect fit. I loved everything about the setting and the adorable dashaund that is at the center of this cozy little mystery/romance. I also appreciated how the author brought out the characteristics of the breed.

Overall, this was a sweet romance and mystery surrounding the groomer and an in-the-spotlight football player. An unexpected match for sure but that is what made this one stand out.

I'll definitely be back for more of this series.

This story had all of the hallmarks of the kind of story I would love; an animal shelter with characters who were dog lovers; characters getting married, romance meet cutes and a sweet dog at the centre of the mystery. I wanted to really love this story but in the end found it just ok. I haven’t read the rest of the series so perhaps that is one reason why I couldn’t connect with the myriad of many characters who featured in this story. This felt like an end of series book where it was wrapped up in the final book.

Thank you to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and give an honest review for this story.
