I really enjoyed how the plot unfolded. I was shocked by the way that the lord died at the very end, which was quite a twist. I have enjoyed Putney's work in the past, and this book was no exception. I received a review copy from NetGalley and have left my opinion.

Silver Lady by Mary Jo Putney is an entertaining historical romance that is the first in a new series: Dangerous Gifts.

Sometimes you just want to read a good historical romance. You just want to be entertained, enthused, and swept away by passion, drama, romance, and daring escapades. This was one of those books.

I have enjoyed Ms. Putney’s Rogues Redeemed series in the past, so I figured I would start a new series when the opportunity presented itself.

A romance in Cornwall with action, drama, history, hijinks, heroes, spies, intrigue, amnesia, villains, passion and romance to the next level, and a bit of a paranormal vibe…and not a dull moment.

Bran and Merryn were interesting main characters with chemistry and yes the plot can travel to places that aren’t the most realistic, but does one read every book for realism? Nope. And I’m ok with that. A good time was had by all.

4/5 stars

this was a great start to this historical romance series, it had what I enjoyed from the series. It does a great job in telling the story and keeping the reader invested in the story. The characters had what I was looking for in this book and thought it worked overall. I enjoyed the way Mary Jo Putney wrote this and can't wait for more.

"Giving thanks for her boys clothing, she headed into the woods. When she’d escaped from the Starling earlier, she’d headed . . . west, that’s what it was called. Now she must find Bran. He would protect her. Where was he? She halted and thought of him: his kindness, his pleasing looks, his warm, protective arms when he’d carried her away from the Crow and his hounds."
