What I appreciate most about "Difficult Conversations" is its practicality. The strategies are not only theoretically sound but also immensely applicable. The book encourages us to shift from a mindset of delivering messages to engaging in a learning conversation. This perspective has transformed the way I conduct professional development sessions, especially when addressing topics that may initially cause discomfort or defensiveness.

I would highly recommend "Difficult Conversations" to any professional, but especially to those in education and leadership positions. The skills it teaches are essential for anyone looking to foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful work environment. It's a book I will continue to return to and recommend in my professional development sessions.

DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS by Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton, and Sheila Heen is essential for living well by having the conversations we dread, the tough negotiations and the emotional, heartbreaking discussions that make or break us. This third edition is an updated, enriched presentations of the simple and yet extremely challenging approach to discussing, learning, and finding common ground no matter the arena or the relationship. I so deeply enjoyed the insights and the examples, the deep experience and compassion that the authors bring to untangling the most fraught and difficult topics and seeming forever opposed sides to an issue. The prose flowed, the examples entranced, and I have already adopted the approach to my own personal and professional life to startling good effect. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.
