As an avid Intrigue reader, I always love to see what Debra Webb has up her sleeve for us with each no book and she did not disappoint with Murder at Sunset Rock! While I normally have an inkling of how it will end, I only had this one half figured out, so kudos to Ms. Webb for stumping a seasoned intrigue reader!
Olivia has returned home to Tennessee when she learns the news that her beloved grandfather, Willy, was killed while hiking. It isn't until she arrives at his property that she realizes it wasn't an accident. Things only get worse when her teenage love, Huck Monroe, darkens her doorstep as the responding deputy.
Huck Monroe had just lost the man he had always looked to as a second father, and that could only mean one thing--Olivia Monroe was headed back to town. Huck regretted his decision when they were in college to disappear from Olivia's life, but never more than the moment he puts eyes on her again. She has grown into a beautiful woman, and he hasn't outgrown his love for her.
When it becomes clear that Olivia isn't safe, Huck insists they're going to solve her grandfather's murder together. With so much left unsaid between them, can they put it aside long enough to keep Olivia safe and track down a killer leaving too many bodies in their wake?
Don't miss Murder at Sunset Rock! It's a thrilling mystery and a sweet second-chance love story you can't put down!

Debra Webb writes stories everyone should read. They are interesting and well-paced stories with just enough going on you won't get lost in too many subplots Murder at Sunset Rock is just exactly what readers want. Mystery, love, loving characters, and of course the evil-doer you have to identify.
When Olivia returns to her home to bury her last relative, the grandfather she cherished she never expected to find his death suspicious. She also didn't want to have to deal with the man who stole her heart at a very young age and callously threw it away.
I recommend this read it has some surprises you may not guess. Thank you, NetGalle, and publishers Harlequin for this eARC this is my honest opinion. I enjoyed this book and it had some surprises in it I didn't guess ahead!

Olivia has returned home for her Grandfathers funeral. It was ruled an accident but events have led her to believe he might have been murdered. The deputy that shows up is an old love of Olivia’s. Things didn’t end well between them. This is a good story that will keep you turning the pages, plenty of suspense, a romance and an unexpected twist at the end. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Olivia was raised by her grandfather, William Ballard, who she fondly called Willy, as did all his close family and friends. She never knew her dad and her mother died when she was four, leaving her grandparents to raise her, however, her grandmother also died at an early age, leaving just Olivia and Willy, who was an award-winning photographer who rarely was seen without his camera.
Olivia was a geologist in Montana, however, upon the death of her beloved Willy, she drove straight through the night to her hometown in Tennessee. Willy had fallen off Sunset Rock, a familiar place where he regularly hiked and took pictures of the gorgeous scenery.
Willy’s death at first appeared to be an accident, however, questionable circumstances began to point to many questions that went unanswered. Upon Olivia’s arrival to the only home she had ever known, it became apparent that someone had been there and possibly was still there. After calling the sheriff’s office she continued to look around and the one thing she did not see was Willy’s rare vintage Nikon. When the deputy finally arrived, what a shock it was to see Huck Monroe, who had been her best friend growing up and her first love. While Olivia was in college, she felt as though Huck had abandoned her by moving away and never even saying goodbye. Ten years had gone by and seeing him again was disconcerting.
This is a fast-paced story, full of unexpected revelations and astounding circumstances. The characters are so life-like, it is hard to not picture them as real. This is a fascinating story that I could not put down until the last page was turned.
