I read a lot of Gluten Free cookbooks since I am both gluten free and an avid cookbook reader/user. For me, this cookbook was trying to do too many things without the title indicating that goal. I think the recipes were made overly complicated by combining other allergies into many of the recipes. It seems like it’s a disservice to families who are actively looking for recipes geared toward multiple allergies too since the title is misleading. I would have suggested changing the title to be more inclusive and to let people searching for just Gluten Free know that this is more encompassing than that. This wasn’t quite right for my needs but would be appreciated best by a family cook catering to multiple allergies.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

For the last few years, I’ve been on a gluten-free diet, by choice. There are many out there in the world who are celiac, or are allergic to gluten. I’ve read a few books and listened to podcasts where they discuss the harms of eastern gluten. One book in particular talks about how gluten May be a cause for many other ailments, it’s like what causes the illnesses to occur; illnesses like high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. it’s like our immunity is compromised because our bodies cannot digest this modern gluten.

This book in particular has so many great gluten-free recipes that are simple and tasty. I drool just looking at the pictures of the dishes! Like many cookbooks out there, this one has easy to follow directions. With over 75 gluten-free recipes that even children love, Lindsay Cotter has captured many fantastic recipes for the entire family to enjoy!

Definitely a book I would purchase for myself as I still eat as gluten-free as possible. It has helped my eczema go away and I feel less bloated after eating. I have many friends who are also cautious about their diets as well and I think this cookbook would make a fantastic gift!

NetGalley offered this book only using their NetGalley Shelf app, which expires after so many days. Unfortunately, I am unable to go back to review details in the cookbook as my access has expired. However, this is a book I plan to purchase for myself once it released in June 13, 2023. I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras.

The Gluten-Free Family Cookbook: Allergy-Friendly Recipes for Everyone Around Your Table is a great cookbook with a wealth of information. In particular, I like the DIY Pantry and Fridge Staples, as the author gives many options for those who need substitutions. There is a good chart with ingredients, uses, and where to find in the cookbook. The author pays attention to the common allergies, with good options for gluten free eating when other potential allergen issues are present. The Gluten-Free Family Cookbook has mainly simple recipes, ones that those with busy kids will appreciate being able to make quickly.

The recipe sections are as follows, with some of the standout dishes.

DIY Pantry and Fridge Staples: Oat Flour; Gluten-Free Oat Milk

Sauce Swaps and Condiments: Dairy-Free Sour Cream; Nomato Sauce; Allergy Friendly Caesar Dressing

Breakfast: Basic Muffin Mix; Trail Mix Breakfast Cookies; Potato Waffles

Smoothies: Good Gut Smoothie; Sunny C Smoothie

Snack Hacks: Chocolate Coconut Protein Balls; Cheesy Seedy Crackers; Crispy Chickpeas

Meal Prep to Lunch Box: Mexican Sweet Potato Patties; Avocado Ranch Turkey Roll-Ups; Asian Noodles

Easy Prep Mains and Family Favorites: One Pot Soy-Free Stir Fry; Sheet-Pan Coconut Crust Chicken; Baked Italian Turkey Meatballs

Simple Soups and Stews: Quick Southwestern Beef Soup; Sweet Potato "No-Peanut" Stew

Desserts: No-Bake Chocolate "Peanut-Free" PB Pie; Allergy-Friendly Cupcakes

Overall, there is a good blend of finished dishes, certainly enough for someone just starting out with using gluten-free recipes. The Gluten-Free Family Cookbook: Allergy-Friendly Recipes for Everyone Around Your Table is well put together, colorful, and would be a nice addition to a family cookbook shelf.

I was hoping to find some new gluten free recipes in this book. I found it weird that the cookbook seems to cater to all kind of allergies, then at times most recipes in a section are vegan, but then the entrees include a lot of meat. Oh well. I really like the layout of the book and the many photographs. Most of the recipes are very easy and only have a few steps, which is a plus. I did get some new ideas for meals an baking. This cookbook is for you if you are looking for gluten free food and also have other food allergies.

An odd bunch of recipes that I didn’t find very enticing. I think this cookbook would be better suited to a family suffering with a bunch of different possibly severe food allergies. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.

A Must Have!

This book has been a godsend for our gluten-free home! The cost of the book is worth it just for the stir-fry recipe alone! It is so hard to find gluten-free condiments in the store and I love that if I make my own I can control the sodium content because so many processed condiments amp up the sodium when they remove the gluten. If you are a newly diagnosed Celiac you will love how the author walks you through setting up a gluten-free kitchen. If you also have food allergies in your family the author provides a chart with allergen swap-outs that is fantastic! Large color photographs with user-friendly instructions on how to make many staples and fun family recipes. Seriously, the recipes for so many household staples like dressings, frosting, mayo and more have been made gluten-free and allergen-free but not flavor-free in this book. Even if you do not have allergies or a gluten issue in your home your child is bound to invite a friend over who does or a family member may a visit that does. This book is a must have for just such an occasion! My thanks to #LindsayCotter, #QuatroPublishingGroup, and #NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my review.

Being recently diagnosed and needing to cut a lot of things, including gluten, out of my life, this book came to me at the perfect time. I only got to try a few of the recipes but they were easy and tasty. Everyone in my household could use it.

A decent cookbook, nothing that really stands out for me to review. It might be better for people new to being gluten free. Thank you for the ARC!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I have always had this misconception that gluten free recipes are boring but this book proved me wrong..The recipes are easy to follow and it's very organized and if you beginning or deciding to be Gluten free then this book is for you.

This book is very informative! I'm gluten intolerant and found this book helpful. The recipes are easy to follow. And it's not all about gluten. This will appeal to people with all types of allergies. I have found many of these types of cookbooks very basic and repetitive. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

This is a great cookbook. The pictures were lovely and the recipes were varied and interesting.

A great resource with a message of hope! And we all need hope.

When you find out that you can no longer eat gluten, I thought no big deal I will just have to find a gluten free bread. You soon learn there is gluten in almost everything - soups, dressing, meat rubs, ice cream, sauces, etc. I had no idea. This is when hopeless becomes part of your eating adventure. The list of what you can eat seems to shrink by the minute.

This cookbook is not just for people that cannot eat gluten - it is also allergy friendly when it comes to dairy, vegan, nuts and eggs. There is a great list of kitchen staples for gluten free cooking. There are allergy friendly swaps and substitutions. There are recipes for making many different gluten free flours and allergy friendly sauce swaps and condiments. Each recipe starts off with a list of all the allergies that are avoided in that recipe.

The chapter on lunch will be really helpful, lunch is a hard meal for us. There is a Table of Contents with page number so you can easily get to the type of recipe you want to make.

Some of the negative comments on this cookbook are not real to me. So try it for yourself. I am planning to get a copy and improve my options for eating gluten free.

I absolutely love how easy to follow these recipes are! It can be so hard to find "easy" gluten free recipes. This book is so refreshing to have some new recipes for our family to try. I already have some saved that are marked as "MUST HAVES" for us! I love all the examples of gluten free flours and how to make them yourself! I personally love this cookbook and will be a really handy one for us - since myself and my kids need to be gluten free! This is for sure my favorite gluten free recipe book - I do wish there was a few more kid friendly recipes but overall I will be making 99% of these! Amazing cookbook for easy to make gluten free recipes that wont require you to have a million and a half ingredients.

This is a fresh take on a gluten free cookbook. As a gluten intolerant person, I found this book to be very helpful when discussing different types of flours and ingredients. The author does not use only one type of gluten free flour mix, but includes recipes for several types of binding ingredients such as coconut and flax. It was also helpful that the recipe prep and ingredients are listed to the side of the full page recipe.

This cookbook may be very useful for those who are seeking an intro to eating gluten and dairy free.

As someone who has been gluten free for over 8 years and who doesn't have other food sensitivities, few of the recipes appeal to me. Far too many include coconut flour, which I do not like in my baked goods. Others are things I already know how to make (oat milk, oat flour, gluten free muffins, etc.)

Also, I have a kiddo who isn't overly picky with her food, but I'm not seeing very many recipes she would enjoy.

So I would recommend reviewing the index to see if this is something that would be useful to add to your shelf based on your dietary needs. It's just not for me!

I have been on the hunt looking for cookbooks that include great tasting gluten-free recipes. This book has been such an eye opener for me as I have to eat gluten free due to an allergy to wheat. I have found several recipes in the book that I made for the past few weeks and it was a huge hit with even my family who aren't gluten free. Thank you for producing such an amazing book that offers many delicious recipes that you can make and not feel left out. I will be purchasing this book to keep in my kitchen so I can continue to make foods I can eat and love.

Cons:
*Umm I’m having a hard time finding one.

Thank you Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Wind and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This book focuses on educating people about different food allergies and how to adapt recipes to suit them. All recipes are gluten-free and are pretty easy to follow with most ingredients readily available or on hand. The issue for me was that the book is inconsistent since it asks for almond flour, coconut-based products, and even oats to which many people with allergies and food sensitivities have a reaction. Overall, an ok book geared for a specific reader with some recipes requiring a lot of work.
