“This man is driving me crazy, and the worst part about it is, I’m enjoying every single minute.”

Collins and Nate are high school nemesis, years later Collins is back in their hometown and they’re back to their old feuding selves.
But wait could it be all that hostility is due to some unresolved feelings?

Lots of “awareness” between these two, some heated looks and funny banter. Who knew running for HOA President would be this much fun? They used to be best friends so they know exactly how to get on each others nerves. And we all know these back and forth is just foreplay. And when these two finally acknowledge the attraction that’s been there all this time, we get some oh so sweet and spicy times!

Small town friends to enemies to lovers full of shenanigans, rumor spreading, family love and the best friends you could ever home for! Sometimes home is really where the heart is! ❤️

LIVE. LAUGH. FLAMINGLE.

We've all heard the dreaded HOA rules and fines. After Collins moves back home and has a run-in with the current HOA president, who happens to be the boy who broke her heart in high school she seeks revenge. Revenge as his opponent as the next HOA president.

This rom-com was full of laughs, comebacks, a few pranks, and a cast of quirky characters. I adored Collins, her parents, and her two friends, Ruby and her fiery personality and Ashleigh with her MLMs. This rivals-to-lovers romance is packed with lighthearted fun, steamy romance, and second chances.

3.75/5

I honestly have mixed feelings about this one. I started my reading journey on audio and I didn't feel connected to the dialogue or focused on the plot. It came off as a little cringey in the beginning, but as I switched over to my physical copy, I was having a BLAST.

As someone currently living in the suburbs with a HOA, I was cackling at the accuracy of Alexa's storytelling. The plot was incredibly believable and unique, which made for such an enjoyable time reading.

It took me a while to warm up to Collins and Nate's relationship; however, the ending was the freaking sweetest. Alexa did a fantastic job with their journey from childhood friends to enemies to lovers and I was eating it up.

"I've loved you since I was fourteen, Collins. I've been waiting for you to come home my entire life". I AM UNWELL.

Overall, a fun read with a unique premise that works.

Thank you Berkley, PRH Audio, GoodGirls PR, and Alexa Martin for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!

I love Alexa Martin's writing, and Next Door Nemesis is no exception! She wrote some super fun characters with great banter and some to-die-for chemistry! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time because this book had me all in my feels.

I loved the chemistry and the connection between the two characters, but what I loved more was the actual characters. They were so fun! I found them to be really interesting and engaging, and they honestly felt real to me.

I'm a total simp for anything Alexa writes...go ahead and sign me up for the next one!

Collins Carter is moving back home to her parents' house. This is her rock bottom. She can't go anywhere but up.

Then a complaint was lodged to the homeowner's association.

Nathaniel Adams wanted a quiet life in a suburban home. He had that, until Collins moved back. She was annoying years ago, and she's even more annoying now that she is running against Nate for the HOA presidency. There will be mudslinging and whispers.

This is a cute enemies to lovers book.

This was such a fun rom com!

Collins moves back home after being blacklisted in Hollywood due to her terrible bf stealing her work! Once home, she realizes her neighbor is non other than her childhood enemy who was once her bestie.

After he hits her with a fine from the HOA she decides she will be running against him for HOA president. But as the campaign goes on, Collins realizes maybe things weren't as they seemed.

The banter and sexual tension in this book was so good! The grumpy sunshine trope was so prominent. Nate is so reserved and serious while Collins is a firecracker!

Who knew the HOA would be so entertaining!

I loved this book so so much! Such a cute, cheesy and funny rom-com! I loved the banter between Collins and Nate. It felt more rivals-to-lovers than enemies-to-lovers to me but that didn’t take away from the story AT ALL. I didn’t think I’d be gushing about a book about a HOA campaign but here I am 😂💓 If you’re wanting a light fun ( + spicy 🌶️🌶️) read I would 1000% recommend this.

Collins Carter is back home after a public break up. Nathaniel is busy getting the community up to his standard as a member of the HOA. What happen when friends who are now enemies collide? Alot of HOA violation.

Collins need to get under Nathaniel ski was priceless, I loved how he dislike for him gave her this massive motivation. Her antics are great. Nathaniel seemed a little uptight in his khakis and need some fun in his life. I enjoyed the book the characters were entertaining. It was a friends to enemies to lovers. I think I would have enjoyed a little more enemy between then.

The Fumbled series made me a fan of Alexa Martin. I enjoyed reading Next-Door Nemesis. I always appreciate when romance books have added layers that extend beyond the traditional romance narratives. In this title, we get friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope that always make the romance better. The overall premise, feuding over HOA presidency, is so whimsical yet somehow Alexa Martin doesn't make it seem as crazy as it is. I definitely enjoyed this one!

I loved this book! The rivals to lovers was amazing. I loved the banter and this book GENUINELY had me laughing out loud multiple times. I loved Alexa’s writing and will be reading more of her books in the future!

Alexa Martin can do no wrong and this is another book that proves it. I love that her standalones are so strong on their own. They’re witty, but they also feel so real!! I can’t wait for her next book

I loved reading about Collins and Nate. I live in a townhouse so I also appreciated the HOA and all the quirks that go along with one. I smiled and rooted for the couple to get their second chance at love.

In a twist on the trope, this one goes from (childhood) friends to enemies to lovers. The characters were great. Their personalities jumped off of the page. Their banter had me in stitches. And their chemistry had me rooting hard for them to get their act together this time.

There was a little bit of a mystery as to why they went from friends to enemies all those years ago and I was constantly looking for clues. And for Collins and her heading back home after a work and romance implosion, she is trying to figure out where she belongs and where home is for her.

I also spent time both reading and listening to this one. The dual narration by Alexa Martin and Jade Wheeler perfectly represented the characters and had me happy I also had the audio for this one.

A well rounded rom com that has me wanting to read all the author’s other books.

Collins and Nate were best friends growing up. But, then Nate ghosted her. She has never forgiven him, and she hates him. Now, Collins have moved back to Ohio after a failed relationship in CA, her ex stole her story/script and sold it as his own. Collins had an epic meltdown that was captured on video.
Now in OH, Nate and Collins have a run in over the community HOA. Both decide to run for president, Collins mainly to get on Nate's nerves. The HOA aspect was hilarious. I loved the sarcastic comments about HOAs and also MLM schemes. Martin writes what we are all thinking!
It's a rom-com, so we know where things will end, but the path forward is a good one. The tension between Collins and Nate, and the lengths she takes to get under his skin is so over-the-top, you have to laugh. But once they get together-their relationship ignites! There are a few hurdles to overcome, but it is an enjoyable read and a satisfying rom-com, with lots of laughs.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers book but this wasn't it. These were two immature and childish adults who were upset about something that happened in high school.
Messing with someone's livelihood for shits and giggles irks my nerves which is exactly what Collins is doing at the beginning of this book. Took them too long to talk about their problems.

When I first started this I thought I wasn’t going to like it-miscommunication is my absolute LEAST favorite trope, and the entire basis of Collins and Nate hating each other is based entirely on miscommunication-or, lack of communication-from their childhood, and they are now 30 year old adults. However, the way their relationship is written was a pleasant read. The head butting, HOA election battle was nothing but the world’s longest foreplay for the two of them. Nate, once you get past his assholish behavior in the beginning of the book, is a swoon worthy MMC. His refusal to hold Collins back from her dreams even if he gets hurt in the process is for sure top tier book boyfriend behavior. Collins started as an unlikeable character for me-she was wallowing in self pity, acting like a teenager with a broken heart instead of the almost thirty year old woman she was. Her bff Ruby was a necessary addition to the plot, to verbally knock some sense into Collins for her behavior. Overall, this is fun, easy to read rom-com romance, with a lovely plot to spice ratio.

I read this book as an ARC. This book was so good! It was a wonderful romcom that I thoroughly enjoyed. Collins and Nate were the perfect friends to enemies to lovers pairing. The banter and the back and forth these two had was really perfect. They balanced each other well and it was nice to see a strong female protagonist not being shamed for having opinions. I also liked how Collins and Nate were able to really trust and open up to each other by the end of the book. And their standoff over the HOA presidency was rather hilarious as well, especially the part with the flamingos and conspiracy theories. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys second chance romance, friends to enemies to lovers and small town tropes and of course romantic comedies. Would give it more stars if that were possible.

I found this one to be a predictable enemies to lovers book. Predictable neighborhood issues. I just didn’t love this one

Next Door Nemesis is an enemies-to-lovers romance… in the second half. The first half of the book reads more like women’s fiction, quarter-life-crisis, millennial ennui than any romance. Between 30-50%, I really considered dnf-ing because the characters felt immature, and I was bored by the plot (we get it, the HOA guy wears khakis and drives a Buick). However, by the 60-70% mark, I was glad I stuck with it. I just wish some of the character and plot development had occurred in the first half. If you love a little small town drama and a second coming of age story, this book is for you!

Collins Carter finds herself back in her childhood home in Ohio after a viral video ends her career in LA. Her high school friend turned nemesis, Nate, just so happens to be her neighbor and part of the HOA in the neighborhood.

I thought this book was really good! It made me laugh so much! Collins bestie Ruby is soo funny! This is a great read if you’re looking for a rom-com with enemies to lovers.
