Mind you, I usually read young adult books to try to keep up with my students, but I listened to this audiobook and oh me oh my the sex scenes. Have things changed that much in the last 5 years? Anyway, this book was about a woman, Layla, who runs her own business and one of her employees' winds up killed outside her shop. Layla is unsure about what the employee was into and why she would have been killed. One of the agents that comes around, Sean, is in the FBI working undercover on a separate case, that soon becomes entangled with Laylas employees' case and to make matters more confusing, Layla.

Thank you to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

Leyla Breda, has a very successful coffee shop in Lost Beach & caters different events in the town, including her brothers wedding. That is where she met the mysterious man named Sean Moran. How does her brother know this man? She has never met him before, never heard her brother talks about him.
It’s not until Leyla finds one of her employees dead behind her shop that she finds out the truth about this man. This case brings them down a scary path, emotionally and professionally.

Again, thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the advanced copy of this audiobook, I really enjoyed listening in.

Deep Tide by Emily Griffin, narrated by Teri Clark Linden.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio for an audio-ARC for my honest review.

Even though this was book #4 of ‘The Texas Murder Files’, I read it as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the fast pace of this romantic suspense. I had read the second one in the series, but plan to go back and read the other two.
The narrator did a great job with the different characters.

I didn’t realize this was the 4th book in the Texas Files series but you can read this book as a stand-alone,!
This is a well-written, entertaining, fast paced, steamy, romantic suspense novel. It is a real page turner with a likable characters, a beautiful, vividly described setting, murder, mystery, intrigue, a heart warming romance, and a happy for now ending. I would definitely recommend reading Deep Tide if you enjoy a little suspense with a side of romance during your summer reading!
Thanks NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me an advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review

I am a first time reader of this series but was not lost in the least. It was super easy to follow. I really enjoyed this well-written, intriguing, romantic thriller. I enjoyed how this opened up like a romantic comedy, kind of light and fun with a meet-cute that turned into a mystery. Leyla is a likable and spirited character, the romance was well written and the mystery really pulled you in. I really enjoyed Teri Clark Linden's narration was top notch.

This fourth book was an excellent addition to The Texas Murder Files. Griffin never fails to deliver a well-written, heart-pounding, suspense-thriller with great romance thrown in. This series has been consistent in its delivery of strong male and female protagonists, great chemistry, and off-the-charts suspense!

I thoroughly recommend the entire series and this book in particular. You can read this as a standalone, but I always recommend starting with the first book in the series to get the full effect. The main characters, Leyla and Sean are likable and their chemistry is palpable.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I gave it four fabulous stars!

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, so I would have started with book one first, but it is able to be read as a stand-alone with different couples in each book. I prefer to start with the first book whenever possible though, so it kind of threw me off.

This one was intriguing enough that I may go back and try and start from the beginning.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the ARC. When I started this book, I did not realize it was part of a series. This is book was fun to read as a stand alone. Will have to go back a read the others.

I fully did not realize I was listening to the fourth book of a series when I picked this one up. Regardless, they seem to stand alone as I was not confused at any point. This book was a lot of fun and captivating to listen to - a murder investigation with a side of romance. The romance part was maybe 2/5 smut and I personally prefer closed door romance, but the main sex scene was quick. If you’re looking for a lot of sex, this isn’t the book for you.

I loved everything about Deep Tide by Laura Griffin. The plot moved along in perfect time. The crime/cop conflict was fantastic. the budding romance between Leyla and Sena had the right amount of pizazz and tension.

Deep Tide is the fourth book in the Texas Murder Files series and it can be read as a standalone since each book in the series feature a different couple as the main characters.
Other characters from the previous books appeared in this one and if you want to know the side characters better it’d be best to start this series from book 1.

I got to listen to the audio version of this book and it takes quite a while for me to get used to the narrator’s voice. At first, it wasn’t to my liking but after a while I kinda get used to it and I come to like the change of voices she does for different characters.

The plot is a quite complicated, it’s not just a simple murder mystery. The case is actually a part of something bigger. It took me a while to understand and get the big picture of it because of the slow pacing.

I also thought the main characters are Sean and Leyla based on reading the synopsis, however that is not the case. So I was a bit confused when this police detective – Nicole’s POV keeps showing up throughout the story. I wish there’s more background story about her (or maybe there is in the previous book which I didn’t know about).

As for the romance, Sean and Leyla has a pretty instant attraction with one another at the beginning. While it may be an insta love, I still like seeing them together as Leyla opening up her heart to Sean.
The ending is also pretty rushed, there’s a time jump that I wish wasn’t there cause I’d like to see more of Sean and Leyla being together.

Overall, I have a mix feelings about this book. It takes me a while to get to the point where I like them because of the story's pacing. It also needs more development such as the characters depth.
I might give this series another try in the future.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook. This is book four of a series, but listens well as a stand alone. This is Leyla and Sean's story. I enjoyed listening-but somehow it felt a little slow. The story itself was good. Listening to a story is still pretty new to me, and maybe I am just really picky but the accents felt off. Overall a good listen. 3.5 stars

Good news, you do not have to read all the books in the series to understand this one (4th book in The Texas Murder Files series). This is advertised as a romantic suspense/mystery novel - and it was a good mix of both. Not being a fan of romance novels, I wish we had more of the suspense/mystery part of the book, but it did not bother me too much. It is an enjoyable and quick read, with fine characters (Leyla, the narrator of the story, tries too hard to be "different" but there is nothing significant about her. I wish we had more of Nicole, the lead detective of the murder case, as she was more dynamic.

Thank you to NetGalley, Laura Griffin, and Dreamscape Media for graciously allowing me to review the audiobook.

I received a copy of this audio book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.

Deep Tide by Laura Griffin is a mystery set on an island in the Gulf Coast of Texas. The story focuses on Leyla Breda, the younger sister of two police officers, Owen and Joel. Leyla runs two coffee shops and is starting to cater events as well. Leyla finds the body of one of her employees after Joel's wedding. One of the wedding guests, Sean Moran, expresses interest in Leyla, while withholding information about his reasons for remaining on the island.

The narrator used a high-pitched, nasal tone for Leyla, and it was unpleasant. The other characters were portrayed with normal voices.

Overall, I enjoyed this audio book. The story is the latest in a series, but stands alone. The author has written a cozy mystery with a romantic relationship focus.

I am not sure what it was about the book, but I felt like I did not connect with it for the longest time. The story is good and the characters are likable. Perhaps it just was not the right time for me to listen to the book or something.

A big thanks to Laura Griffin, Teri Clark Linden, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for gifting me a complimentary eaudiobook, in return for an unbiased review.

This story, set in the well-worn path of romantic suspense, offers no surprises. Leyla, our heroine, runs a somewhat ambiguously defined bakery-restaurant on a Texas island. Things take a dark turn when an employee is found murdered, drawing her into a contraband smuggling investigation.

Enter Sean, the undercover federal agent, unexpectedly attracted to Leyla, despite the professional boundaries. Leyla's involvement in the case creates tension, as her law enforcement brothers and Sean worry for her safety.

While not groundbreaking, this book may still appeal to fans of Laura Griffin and romantic suspense. I found it a bit monotonous and formulaic, with characters lacking enough charm to offset the predictability.

Teri Clark Linden's narration was commendable, but Leyla's voice struck a discordant note. The accent was fine, but a bit annoying.

This suspense filled, murder mystery is a captivating story. Leyla Breda is a bakery/coffee shop owner and caterer. She is devastated to find one of her employees murdered behind her shop. She has brother's who are police officers so she knows the score. But when a man she met and had a connection with at her brother's wedding is interested in the murder, Layla can't help but become involved. Sean Moran is an FBI agent, on a case of his own. He is friends with Leyla's brother and is attracted to his sister. When his case starts to intersect with what happened at Leyla's shop, he wants to protect her from the dangerous men he is looking for. But Leyla has a mind of her own, finding information that could help, but also puts her in extreme danger. Will Sean be able to take down this crime ring and protect Leyla before they find her? This was a gripping story with a steamy romance and plot twists that will have you on edge trying to figure out what will happen next. Not only do we meet Leyla and Sean and want them to find a way to be together, but we meet the lead detective, Nicole, and Emmett and their contentious relationship leaves me wanting more of them.
Teri Clark Linden is a new narrator to me and I really enjoyed her performance. She picked the perfect tone for this story and easily delivered all the emotion, and heart pounding suspense, making this story even more captivating. I will definitely look for more of her work.
I have always loved Griffins stories and I enjoyed this mystery/romantic suspense as well.

I really enjoyed this story and appreciated listening to this ARC. The mystery and cozy feel of the town was great. I read this as a standalone; didn't even realize it was a series. Well written by LG and the audio was good too. I didn't love the inflections given to Layla, one of the female MCs. She sounded whiney and I was annoyed by her a lot because of it. Perhaps multiple narrators would have been better because of 3 POVs (which I loved having more than just a dual POV). I was pretty disappointed in the justice for Amelia but overall I did enjoy this book.
