The latest cases in Grey's Hollow have Sheriff Bree Taggert and her found family in danger. Bree's former partner and roommate, Dana, is injured, and her date is murdered. Dana quickly becomes the main suspect. Separately, Bree and her family are threatened. Bree and Matt, her criminal investigator and boyfriend, find a frozen murder victim while investigating the threats. Can Bree keep everyone safe and solve these murders?

This series keeps getting better and better! I stayed up late and woke up early to finish this book. Bree and Matt are working on multiple cases with multiple suspects. The fast pace made the book hard to put down, and the twists kept me guessing until the end.

I enjoyed seeing Matt's family playing a more significant role in this book and the introduction of K9 Officer Collins with her dog Greta, initially trained by Matt. You can feel the love in this found family, enhancing the overall story. It's hard not to be invested in this wonderful family and group of officers..

As always, I look forward to whatever is next for Bree and her family!

I received an early copy of this book. This voluntary review reflects my honest opinion.

Bree's best friend and former partner, Dana, walks into her date's home to find him shot in the chest. Dana also encounters the intruder and struggles with him before he escapes through the back door. The crime occurs in another police chief's jurisdiction where the chief has named Dana the prime suspect.

I saw CATCH HER DEATH pop onto Netgalley and couldn't help requesting a copy of Melinda's latest novel in the Bree Taggert series. Although the cases are unique to each book and could be read as a standalone, I would recommend to read them in order to grasp the character arcs in their entirety. Something new to this book was having a couple chapters in a few of the other character's POVs, primarily Dana and Matt's. This was nice as the previous books stuck solely to Bree's.

I liked that Bree, Matt, and Bree's deputies are working on a couple of cases at once, both on and off book. This gives added dimension and curiosity to the story. Notably, I loved seeing Greta (the Randolph County's K-9) in action here.

The police procedural aspect of the novel was intricate and intriguing, holding my attention all the way through. I struggled to see how everything fit together and was pleasantly surprised by the reveal because of this. A major plus in my opinion! The pacing is steady with ample suspense and tension that amps up with lots of action as the investigation races to a close.

CATCH HER DEATH seems to have a heavier focus on the characters and their relationships than its predecessors and I'm here for it. I really enjoyed the closer look at certain characters and am excited for what future books will bring!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher, Montlake, of this advanced digital copy for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review! All opinions shared are my own.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Bree Taggert series. I found Dana’s POV and storyline to add a wonderful depth to the book. I continue to love Bree and Matt and how they’re navigating both their working and personal relationships. The kids and all the extended family and siblings also add lovely layers to the story. There are many storylines and Bree catches several cases as the book goes on, and I was excited to see how it would all come together. Nolan and Dana stole the show for me in this one though! Highly recommend this whole series. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

This book begins fast paced and doesn't let up until the final words. The Ekin family are trouble, they are all criminals and when Bree arrests Travis for murder, she is threatened by his mum and Brother. And danger is close to home when an intruder is spotted in the grounds of her farm.
Bree's former partner, now housekeeper, Dana goes on a date with new fella Kent, but on arrival to his house gets involved with a shooting.
Is Bree's family and friends at risk from the Ekin family or is something more sinister happening
This series just goes from strength to strength. I love the character building, I love how despite being a busy Sheriff, Bree has her family and friends interests at heart. This is refreshing in the day and age of detectives in novels being burnt out and stressed with little or no family involvement.
It's also nice to see new characters brought in, I love Collins and her K-9 dog Greta. Look forward to seeing them in future books

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Catch Her Death by Melinda Leigh that I read and reviewed.
This is the seventh book in the Bree Taggert series and this book got the series back on track from the last one. I really enjoyed this book because it focuses on Dana Romano, Bree’s former partner and the person who now acts as a nanny to the children Bree is raising after her sister’s death. It was nice to learn about Dana and giver her some attention. This book also has more of Matt Flynn’s family in it so I enjoyed having the focus on them as well.
The mystery was also intriguing because there were a number of people who could be behind the crime and until the very end you really were not sure who was behind the murder of Dana’s boyfriend and why. I can honestly say I read this book in one evening because I wanted to know what was going on and who was doing g what and why. This was an excellent addition to the series and and I can’t wait for the next book next year to see what Bree, Matt and the rest of the crew is up too.
Catch Her Death gets five out of five stars!

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake for the chance to read Catch her death by Melinda Leigh. This is the 7th book in the Bree Taggert series. I have been hooked on this series since the first book. I really enjoy the characters, Bree, Matt and his K-9 dog Brody! The books are quick reads, with fast-paced plots, and lots of suspense. Catch her death features more of Bree's retired homicide partner, Dana, who had moved with Bree to help her with her niece and nephew. One of my favourite developments is Greta, a rescue dog, now trained as the sheriff's newest K-9 unit. Even though you could read this as a standalone, I recommend reading the entire series. Characters from the Morgan Dane series make appearances but it is not necessary to read that series first.

As with the past books I've read from the author, I liked this one. 4 stars for Sheriff Taggert and her whole big, fun family.
Anticipated pub: Sept 12, 2023

The story continues to follow Sheriff Bree Taggert and her family. As always, there is a case that seems like it could be simple and spirals to so much more. Packed with action as well as down time with family, this was a story I devoured. I kept reading in a rush as I needed to know what would happen next. The heartwarming family scenes made me feel things but the tense moments made my heart race. There are a few moments that you think "would this really happen in real life" but they didn't distract me from wanting to continue reading.

I know Morgan Dane has her own series by the author so I loved her cameo in this story (and it made me want to read her series too).

Would recommend for those that love: a police procedural, thrilling & tense moments throughout, strong "made-family" bonds, a case that starts simple & gets complicated (in the best way).

Thanks to Montlake via Netgalley for the ARC to read & review!

I love this series so much! In this book, Dana goes to her dates house for dinner and interrupts a crime in progress. She is attacked and injured and the assailant gets away. As she is home recuperating, Matt's brother Nolan takes it upon himself to stay with her and during the time they spend together, it is clear that something is happening between them. While that's going on, Bree is busy trying to figure out who murdered Dana's date and attacked her, along with other seemingly unrelated crimes.

Like most who done it books, I think we all like to play detective and try to figure it out before the end. The best authors are the ones that keep you guessing until the reveal and Melinda Leigh has done it again. I was only able to figure out one aspect of the who, why, what, where and how, which I was proud of myself for doing, but I couldn't answer all of them which is how I like it. She does a great job of writing an interesting story while making you feel like your getting to know all the main characters better. While I very much enjoy the mystery of each book, it's the main characters I come back for.

I loved this book and I love this series. I would definitely recommend

Melinda Leigh does it again in her latest novel "Catch Her Death." This book is a part of a series. You get sucked into this book from the very first page to the very end. There are many twists that you don't see coming.
Bree and her family have been through a lot in the past. Dana, Bree's old partner from the force, is finally seeing someone close by. Tragedy strikes Dana as she attempts to go on her date. This tragedy brings Dana front and center to a world she used to work. Matt and Bree are doing everything that they can do help and protect Dana during her time of need. As Bree works on cases as the sheriff things start to unravel that you would never guess.
Highly recommend this book as well as the series. Can't wait for the next book.

Catch Her Death (Bree Taggert, #7) by Melinda Leigh
This series is fantastic, and I stayed up all night just to finish it. Bree and Matt are both strong H/h with tons of baggage. There are wonderful friends and family and some very evil people. Mystery, murder, threats, revenge, angst, building on love and trust, new relationships, Melinda kept me guessing right till the end - how many bad guys are there. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Romantic Great world building Witty Twisted Unpredictable Entertaining Easy-to-read Happily Ever After Wonderful characters Tragic Haunting Action-packed Scary Page-turner.

Edge of the seat suspense once again as we follow along with Bree and Matt. My favorite romantic suspense and I'm always on board for more of these characters plus their animals. Yet again, Melinda Leigh did not disappoint with the plot and I devoured Catch Her Death in one sitting! I already can't wait to read the next one! If you are a fan of Debra Webb, Robert Dugoni, Lisa Regan and Kendra Elliot. This author is a must read. Put Melinda Leigh at the top of your list!

I literally couldn’t put this book down from the moment I picked it up. Bree taggert is at it again. Loved this story and the twists and turns that come with every Bree adventure as the uncontested but much disliked sheriff of a small town. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Looking for connections in all the wrong places...

For fans of Melinda Leigh and the Bree Taggert series, Catch Her Death is another great addition to the series!

Leaping straight into the takedown of a drug dealer and murderer, it sets the scene for the story to come, but is everything that is unfolding linked to this criminal family or someone else from the teams past. You will be hooked and turning the pages keen to know how all the puzzle pieces fit together as once again, a killer is too close to home.

This is a series that I recommend you read in order. While each book in the series has a new crime the team solve, the foundation/core characters are a big draw to series written by Melinda and in each book, we see them grow and evolve. In this book, one year on from the death of her sister, which saw her move her life to a new town and take on the responsibility of a parent to her niece and nephew, we see the new family emerging from grief to allow happiness in. This story we see a potential budding new romance as Bree’s best friend, Dana Romano features more in the lead story when she becomes a victim and comes under suspicion as a suspect.

I would also recommend reading the Morgan Dane series in conjunction with this one as Morgan and her other half make appearances in this series. I love the overlap of characters between series. It is not essential but can add a little extra richness knowing the deeper back story of some of the minor characters making an appearance.

Thankyou NetGalley for the ARC.

I love this series. There is always a killer or an evil criminal to catch. This time it was both.
Travis had committed most of his crimes before Bree’s tenure as sheriff, but his rap sheet read like an episode of Justified.
This family is evil to the core.
Two murders that have nothing in common until they do.
Bree and Matt are on guard against someone coming after their family.
This author always writes a suspenseful adventure you just can’t put down and I look forward to many more.

Thankyou to #netgalley, MOntlake and the author for an ARC with the chance to review and provide my comments. I love Melinda Leigh's Bree Taggert series. This is book #7 and it was just as good as the ones before. While each book can technically be read as a stand alone for the who done it and 'solve the crime' factor, you are much better off going in order to appreciate all of the character development. The story touches on so many subjects and emotions as the cases hit close to home involving her own family. I love that the author is geting the secondary characters more involved and exploring the K9 aspect as well. Brody, Ladybug and Greta are always a great addidion to any scene and favorites of mine. Also love how the author makes two or three seemingly unrelated crimes or incidents circle back around to all be connected. Even knowing twists will happen, sometimes it takes me the whole book to figure it out. Can't wait for the next one.

Another hit in this must read series! This mystery kept me on the edge of my seat. I love Bree but enjoyed getting more of Dana. And then there's Matt and Nolan. Be prepared to fan your face at these strong sexy brothers.
There are a lot of elements to this one. There's action, suspense, twists, romance, family, heart, and a little humor. I can't wait for whats next!

Ms. Leigh just gets better and better in each installment of her Bree Taggert series. In Catch Her Death a murder hits close to home and Bree’s best friend, Dana, becomes the main suspect. Dana walks in right after someone has shot her date, Kent, in his home and then attacks her.

In the meantime, Bree has been receiving death threats in the mail plus vandalism to her home. While away from home one night, someone skulks around Bree’s home and terrorizes her teenage nephew and now the whole family is on high alert. The main suspects are a local small-time crime family, the Ekins who continue to show up at inconvenient times.

Bree’s boyfriend Matt Flynn, and his brother Nolan play big parts in this book protecting the family. Bree and Matt team up to investigate who really killed Dana’s friend since they know the Chief in the other jurisdiction is not looking any further than Dana. I loved the growing relationship between Bree and Matt in this book and the closeness and easiness they freely exhibited.

Nolan steps up to watch over Dana while she is healing and soon feelings start to spark between them. Dana has her doubts, but Nolan just rolls right over them.

There is a lot going on in this book with multiple storylines and I was on the edge of my seat a great deal of the time. The suspense was palpable at times, and I read this book in one sitting.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I gave it four stars!
