This book is filled with so many things that make it great! A gruff father and his apprentice, a litter of puppies and a fancy white rat to name a few. Such a great Amish romance with lots of fun added in. A must read!

An Amish Cinderella by Shelley Shepard Gray is sweet and fun and will make you laugh. Heart and her dad Levi have made a life for themselves without her mama, who passed away unexpectedly. When Clayton comes to apprentice with Levi, both Heart and Levi find that they needed something more. And that God always shows up in His own perfect timing. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. I loved it!

Letting go of his control, he was able to find joy.

Katie Beachy passing left a hole in the hearts of those she left behind. Her beloved daughter Heart and her devoted husband Levi. Time has passed and the two have set up a routine at home. Levi is in the business of shoeing horses and steel art that he is well known for. Heart takes care of her father and running center when it comes to Levi's rough edges. Sometimes Heart's father does not think about how he may come across. He does have a reputation but only a few know it is just his way.

Levi takes on a apprentice that becomes smitten with Heart very quickly. A sweet romance that is a little cheesy, quirky, and very sweet. Both Levi and Heart find joy in different ways after the death of their Katie. It answers the question what keeps you from joy. A great lesson to learn. Don't take yourself to seriously.

A special thank you to Kensington Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

After Heart’s mother died, she took over the cooking and cleaning, with little time for her own interests. Her burly, blacksmith father expects to have his meals at the exact time every day and the house running normally. His new apprentice is smitten is smitten with her. Clayton grew up in a children’s home and loves feeling like part of the family.
This isn’t a Cinderella story. Heart doesn’t have a wicked stepmother or stepsisters. In fact, the woman who interests her father is a good friend to Heart. She does love animals and lose track of a shoe briefly. Odd title, but good story.

Heart Beachy feels lonely. Her mom passed years ago, and her father is always busy working in the shop. She busies herself with helping small animals. Her father is so busy, he brings on a helper, Clayton Glick. Clayton is enamored with Heart and her generous spirit. This is a cute book and an adorable, clean, Amish romance.

Going back to the Apple Creek series I knew this book would be a winner. Poor Heart Beachy is alone now that her friends are all married or move away. Here she is stuck caring for her widowed father and all her animals. Content and willing to accept fate but her heart still aches for a husband. Clayton Glick comes to be an apprentice of her father, a blacksmith. Heart get all flustered around Clayton but he is determined to win her over.
Great book that the romance blooms even in the toughest gardens.

An Amish Cinderella was a quick and easy read that made for an enjoyable afternoon at home. It's a sweet romance between Heart and Clayton and there's also a second chance at love between Heart's dad and neighbor Mary who is a help to many in their community. Spike the rat is a fun addition to this story too!

If you like Amish fiction, you will definitely enjoy this one. Shelley Shephard Gray is a wonderful author who her Apple Creek community to life.

Heart Beachy lives with her widowed father Levi and stays busy taking care of the household and numerous adopted pets. Levi is a brusque, no-nonsense blacksmith who takes on an apprentice and is a little leery about having Clayton around. The entire story is magical and engaging, with Heart full of Hope, Levi overcoming bitterness and loss and Clayton emerging into a new world of family. I enjoyed how well-developed the characters were and how the plot flowed smoothly between the action in the house and out in the barn where Levi and Clayton worked together. Filled with heartwarming family love, friendship and hope, this is not-to-be-missed by anyone who loves a good Amish story with a pet rat as a likable and intelligent addition to the tale.

I love any Shelley Shephard Gray book, and this one was really good. It gives a different take on the cinderella story.

Heart Beachy changed her name because she felt that the name "Heart" suited her personality better. Heart and her Dad, Levi, who was a 250 lb strapping blacksmith lived on a farm where Levi shod horses and sold his famous metal sculptures to rich Englishers.
Hearts' Mom had died four years ago and Heart missed her mother a lot, but she and her father had developed a close relationship. Levi suggested that Heart visit Mary, a close neighbor, and Heart enjoyed seeing her puppies and Mary asked her if she would take Spike, a little gray fancy rat; so Heart carried Spike, his cage and his toys home to her Dad.
But Levi had a surprise for Heart, a new apprentice named Clayton who was going to stay at the farm. When Heart heard that her Dad was going to make Levi live in the loft with bugs and mice and no bathroom, she told Clayton that he could stay in their guest room without asking her Dad.
Levi was angry but Heart told him Clayton couldn't live in the old loft and that her Mom would have let him live in the guest room, Levi gave in.
You will have to find out what happens to Heart, Clayton and Levi with a rat and a cute couple in the house!

Shelley Shephard Gray is a go to author, I knew I would enjoy this book, and she didn't disappoint!

This is a story of healing, and remembering. We are also offered some sweet romance, and a cuddly rat. Yes, a pet rat named Spike, maybe, but I don't think so.

This is a delightful twist on the fairy tale Cinderella, an Amish twist, and for me it became a page turner. The characters here great, and love how Mary gives so much, as does sweet Heart/aka Hazel.

You don't want to miss this one!

Another sweet read by Shelley Shepard Gray. Loosely based on the Cinderella fairy tale, it is an easy and enjoyable story sure to draw you in and keep you reading until the very end. Although it is the third in The Amish of Apple Creek series, it is not directly connected to the other books and reads well as a stand alone novel. If you enjoy Amish fiction by authors such as Wanda Brunstetter, Tracy Fredrychowshi, and Beverly Lewis, you will enjoy this clean Christian book.

Shelley Shepherd Gray's An Amish Cinderella hits all the right notes for a light, fun, easy read with hints of a fairy tale. Love at first sight, Clayton sees his new boss' daughter walking down the drive and is almost speechless. Heart, Levi's daughter, is equally affected. Levi, the father, is oblivious at first. His gruffness has kept all other possible suitors at bay. And Mary, a neighboring widow catches the eye of Levi, a widower.
Between a pet rat, new puppies, a lost shoe, what more humorous events can occur?

A copy was provided for my review, but all opinions are my own.

This is a sweet romance that gives us non-Amish a glimpse into their life. It is important for us to see that we have more alike than we do different. The characters in this story had good hearts and the author allowed us to see their inner struggles.

I don't know how she does it but this author writes the best stories!.
This book shows she can write anything and leave the reader's imagination to.the fullest!
I really enjoyed this version of Cinderella.
I especially loved the unusual nickname like Heart. This young lady really does have a true heart. She shows us that patience is a virtue and love will come in due time.
I just really enjoyed this fantastic tale and it left my heart feeling full and satisfied. "Sigh"
Shepard has a way of doing that to me.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

An Amish Cinderella brings a different spin to the original Cinderella story. Clayton has never had a steady family. Heart lives with her dad doing all the household chores . She collects pets like Spike her pet rat . Honestly rats creep me out a bit but the author did a great job of focusing on rat facts that are surprising like they are social creatures . Along with building their love story this story also focuses on Levi , hearts dad and his love story with their neighbor Mary. This is a good , clean read with a sweet romance . Thank you to Netgalley for a free download on exchange for an unbiased review.

An endearing Amish adaptation of Cinderella, this novel is clean, sweet, and written clearly and concisely. It's my first book by this well-known author and I've got to say, I was impressed. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy this genre as much as I did, but this thoughtful gem was worth it. Perfect for a rainy day as it is a quick and easy read. Be aware that loss/death is discussed, in case it's a trigger for certain readers. Otherwise, this novel is a delightful book that can be read as a stand-alone.

An Amish Cinderella
by Shelley Shepard Gray
What a heartwarming and charming book. I loved the development of Levi and Clayton. Shelley Shephard Gray has written another hit. She is one of the few authors that I read that I always know going into the book that it will be good. Gray writes characters with real flaws, real struggles and real lives.
An Amish Cinderella is perfect for anyone looking for a lazy afternoon read or just an uplifting book that deals with love, loss and family.
I highly recommend this book.
