"Treasure Chest of Kisses" by Sky Eiko is a special and enchanting first book for kids. It's like a magical box of love, teaching children to cherish the love they have inside them. The story is playful and the pictures are lovely, making it a happy read that helps children understand feelings. It also reminds us grown-ups how important it is to help children feel loved and find love within themselves. Plus, there's a cool extra where you can download fun stuff, adding more joy to the reading adventure!
This colorful, whimsical children’s book would make a nice baby shower gift. Primarily geared toward a little girl, this book is filled with love and has magical fairy-like vibes. My biggest critique is the art and fonts didn’t feel very cohesive throughout the book, so it felt a bit unrefined perhaps. Still, I would share this with my young daughters along with a big smooch on the top of their heads! 3.5 stars
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. It’s such a great story filled with so much love. It shows kids the importance of fostering love in kids and also teaching them to draw on that love when they need it and to also share it. It was just so amazing.
A colorful and magical book about the love all of us hold inside. I need to buy this for every child in my life it is absolutely the cutest.
This picture book expresses the sentiment that we all have a treasure chest inside us that is filled with the love and kisses which we have accumulated during our lives. The rhyme states that if we are missing a loved one, that person’s love is stored inside us, all we must do is recall it. If we are unsure of ourselves, we can take out some of that love and be more self-assured. Most children have received love from family or friends that they can rely upon. The rhyme scheme is sometimes awkward, and the lovely artwork does not always seem to apply to the words upon the page. But overall, this sweet picture book is an excellent debut effort. Although the main character is a girl, the book was actually written with the author’s son in mind when he was missing his father after a divorce. I recommend this book for any young child who may be missing loved ones either because of distance or grief. It also applies to simply missing Mom or Dad because the child is going off to school. I recommend this picture book to any young child, for all children can use a reminder that they are loved.
I wish to thank Henrietta Publishing and NetGalley for a review copy of this book.
This is a little book which is basically a love letter from a mother to her child, reminding them that no matter where they are or how they are feeling, they can always reach deep within themselves and access the treasure trove of love that they have received - and unknowingly collected - over the years.
All those hugs and kisses and care and kindnesses are gathered in a Treasure Chest that rests in their hearts, and each and every person has one.
The reminder of that love not only helps to keep children feeling more secure in the face of challenges, it also remains them that they are worth loving. And that they should always remember to love themselves.
The author mentions how she wrote this book for her son Sage when she was getting divorced from his father, and how she was strengthened by the realisation that she could tap into the love that her mother had always given her and that she carried within herself still.
The illustrations are cute and complement the text well. This book has something important to teach children - not only that they are worth loving, but that they carry a store of love within themselves that they can always turn to without fear of disappointment.
Pictures and illustrations were pretty, very anime like. I wasn’t really partial to the story. I don’t think I liked the concept very well. Sorry.
What a precious little book!!! Colorful artwork and rhyming verse to tell us the story of our love “treasure chests” that each of us has within us. Thank you to NetGalley and Sky Eiko for a digital copy of the Treasure Chest of Kisses: I Am Made of Love in exchange for an honest review.
A beautiful way to teach a young child how love can be stored in your treasure chest, your heart. The love we are given in our chest will never leave us and can help us when we feel unloved, and can be shared and given to those who need some extra love.
This is a powerful little story with whimsical illustrations and poetic verse.
This story expresses how important love is. How a child first experiences love by the adults in their lives.
The biggest message I took away from this picture book was that we need to dive deep and find that inner love sometimes when we are struggling, when we're sad, when we experience unfortunate circumstances or loss... and we won't have the ability to resource that if we don't have a chest full of love from the adults who watched over us.
A child believes who they are by what the adult tells them. An adult will struggle with identity issues or with self doubt or the inability to just know who they are or what they're worth if they aren't loved on as a child.
I look forward to anything this author publishes in the future, she seems very intuitive and self aware and knows how to translate such an important message for kids to understand. Such a great book to incorporate into a bed time routine.
Thank you Henrietta Publishing and NetGalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review!
Sweet story and beautiful illustrations. I love how love is explained as passed down for generations and even grows with you
While I normally enjoy kids books that have rhyming lines, the cadence of most of these didn't work for me. It felt a little clumsy to read. The imagery was pretty but not super remarkable.
This is a book about love. A love, that we share with our loved ones and they share back with us.
Here in this story it was told for how the love shared with off-springs kept in their heart ever since before their birth. At every step when we receive love we felt overwhelmed and keep it profoundly in our hearts. No just at early young age but even in our old age we behave in the same manner.
This treasure chest fills every time we receive love and get back to us with it's brimful love when we want it most. Remembering the loved ones who passed away, the ones we broke-up with, even the ones get away with an misunderstandings, this chest comes to help always.
This is a very good work in the rhythmic form; and for a debut, I would appreciate it more.
Treasure Chest of Kisses is an adorable story about how all the love and kisses we receive - from our parents, family, friends, and others, gets put inside our treasure chest inside us. Any time we need love, for ourselves or to give to others, we can reach inside our treasure chest of kisses and give love out. The best part about our treasure chest is that it always fills itself back up, so there is enough love to give to everyone!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!

The idea of this book was really precious, and I could tell it was personal to the author's heart. While I loved the idea of filling a treasure chest, it reminded me a lot of the story, How to Fill Your Bucket (except the theme was love vs. kindness). I wish there was more diversity in the illustrations, but I know my kiddo loved the colors all over the pages.
Thank you NetGalley and Henrietta Publishing for a copy of this book. This review is my own after reading to my daughter. 🤍
I am so excited to share this wonderful heartwarming story with you. I absolutley loved this book. This little adventure was all about the love we carry with us, always. Sky Eiko tells the tale of how the little child collects a treasure chest of kisses all through their life. These mementos of love come from mom, family, friends and so many more. The story helps children learn that even when they are having a hard time or don't know what to do with big emotions they are still filled with a treasure full of love. Even when loved ones aren't close by they are still with them in their heart. The book also included a QR code that opened some exciting things to share with the family, like downloads and resources. This story did an amazing job sharing that even when we are alone the love is always with us. The warm illustrations combined with wonderful flowing text created the perfect heartfelt adventure to share with your little ones.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review but I will certainly be buying this for our little library for my littles to continue to share.
To be honest, this book was cute but I did not love this book. It kind of just says "love is just there!" which may be true for some people, but not everyone. Some people's love tank is just empty and needs to be refilled, and this book gives no remedies for that.
A simplistic and endearing tale of how love shows in many ways. With a rhyming choice of words, a "Treasure Chest of Kisses", is full of heart and hugs along the way. It made me smile, as I read of family and friends and through the topic of love and sympathy. A picture book for all ages.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a cute rhyming story to essentially teach young children that love is endless. It uses the imagery of a treasure chest that can grow day by day as more and more love is put into it, but in times of need you can take love out, but even when you take love out, your treasure chest won't run out of love as it refills itself and connects with those around us.
The illustrations were bright and colorful, really drawing the reader into the story they're portraying. Since this story felt a bit simplistic with minimal plot to me, I'd probably not want to read it a whole bunch of times, but I would be okay reading it a few times at least. Overall I give Treasure Chest of Kisses 3.87 out of 5 stars.
