This one feels a little hard to review simply because it blurred between adult and young adult romance for me. It was VERY “clean”, zero mentions of sex and absolutely no cursing (not even “shut up”) so I’d feel comfortable having my tween niece read it. The main characters trying to figure out what to do with their lives and careers also felt pretty young to me. For me, it just felt a little juvenile. If you prefer clean romances then you will probably enjoy it.

4.25⭐
Book 4 in the Getting Shipped series ~ I suppose fine as a standalone, but I haven't been disappointed yet so why not read them all since the characters do interconnect somewhat.
Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, best friends sister, brothers best friend, off limits, forbidden, friends to lovers, secret relationship, small town, no steamage
Shannon & Duke have been secret crushing on each other for years, but neither thought they could take a chance on each other. Shannon has a sad family story which is why her and brother, Chris, are so close and he's very protective of her.
There's a nice small town feel with a great cast of side characters. I don't have any siblings, so I'll never really fully understand the whole off limits/forbiddenness, but I can see why they wanted to wait to tell Chris until after he came home from his deployment.
They were very cute together. I loved Duke's dream and how he went after it. The epilogue was a nice wrap up of what they accomplished.
Aidan & Mallory are still my favorite, but I enjoyed this installment in the series and look forward to the next one that will follow Jayme, Shannon's roommate.
Narration:
Amy McFadden & Will Damron ~ 11 hours 53 minutes ~ they have narrated the whole series and do a fine job.

Cute little romcom. Brothers best friend. Small town. Absolutely going to read the others in the series

Book Name: Censor(shipped)
Series: Getting Shipped #4
Author: Savannah Scott
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Shannon and Duke have known each other for a long time and they’ve been (unknowingly) pining away for each other. Duke is best friends with Shannon’s brother Chris, who is away with the army, and he’s been tasked with “looking out for her” while he’s away on deployment. Just as Chris is about to return home, the cats out of the bag and they finally realise they have feelings for each other. Now they have to hide their relationship in a small town where nobody can keep a secret, until they can break the news to Chris in person.
There’s plenty of cute high jinks as they sneak around while also getting to know each other. Their friend group is fun and I am definitely interested in having a look at the other books in the series (this is the first one I’ve read).
Their banter and chemistry was cute though there was a lot of doubt from both sides along the way.
I listened to the audiobook and the voice actors were entertaining and kept me interested.
Also, we love a grand gesture!
Thanks to #NetGallery and Dreamscape Media for the ARC in return for my honest review.

How I felt:
- I listened to the audio for this one and let me tell you it was the best narration I've ever heard. Both Amy McFadden and Will Damron did an awesome job. They both did their tones for different characters very well and they put so much emotion in their parts any listener will feel it too. Especially Amy McFadden, she would even go as far as puff out loud, cry and scream when needed. It was a brilliant experience.
- Now apart from my listening experience, the book itself was just fabulous. I had so many laugh out loud moments I had to stop listening when my boys went to bed - I'd just wake up the whole house laughing!
- The story was the sweetest, the romance melted my heart. Duke was, oh no! IS book boyfriend material. And Shannon was actually more mature than I was expecting, which was a total relief. We get our first kiss by 50% in the book, so that's at least half the book seeing out main characters work it our, grow in their relationship and make our hearts melt. I loved it!
Overall:
- This is a clean romance with tons and tons of chemistry, lots of steamy kisses and fabulous humor.
- It definitely was a fast paced and easy read. You will keep those pages turning, or if you're listening, not want to press pause on the audio file.
- This book can be read as a stand alone, but, as always, knowing the other characters makes it a bit more special.
Tropes:
- Rom-com
- Brothers best friend
- Forbidden romance
- It's always been you vibe
- book boyfriend
- Newbie at serious relationships
- Mecanic MMC
- Dancer FMC
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me review the audio book and give my honest opinion

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher, and Savannah Scott for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This was an enjoyable, lighthearted romance. I’m a sucker for the brothers best friend trope. I love too that there’s a whole series based in Bordeaux. I have another ARC of Savannah’s so looking forward to that too!

I'm so glad I was introduced to this series! I had never read this author before but I fell in love with her writing style pretty quick. I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the series. I liked that our two characters were real, honest, people trying to ignore their feelings for the sake of something they both love.
I received an advance audio copy. All thoughts are my own.

I think I should start off by saying that there are clearly people out there who loved this book, as evidenced by the previous reviews of it. I just simply am not one of them.
As someone who grew up crushing on my older brothers' best friends, I usually have so much fun with this trope; however, this fell really flat for me. Maybe it's that as an adult, I don't believe my brothers would ever assume I couldn't make my own decisions or fend for myself. Or maybe it's that even if they did, I would simply tell them to fuck off. Maybe it's that I can't imagine my brothers thinking so terribly of their best friend that they've had for their entire life. Or maybe it's because if their friend actually sucked so badly I would hope they wouldn't be friends with them. Either way, this just wasn't for me.
Things that didn't work for me:
1) The slut-shaming of Duke for his past
2) The slut-shaming of Amber, one of Duke's past flings, not just by Shannon but also by Duke and his friends. How are you going to slut-shame the person that you were dating, my guy? Also at this point in the book, Duke imagines himself committing violence towards Amber but then says, "but I would never put my hands on a woman" like that excuses the fact that he thought about it?
3) Duke telling his friend, who's wife is pregnant, that he's so excited for him to be a dad when the friend already has two adopted children, then when corrected by the friend says "yeah but this is more".... actually terrible
4) The constant need to specify that Duke was having "manly" feelings or doing things "like a man." The fragile masculinity throughout this book was a lot to handle.
5) The autocorrect text conversations, like once might have been fun but it got so old so so fast and just made Shannon feel like a 12 year old instead of 26.
6) The constant discussion about how they can't be together because it would hurt her brother, but especially the fact that they kept saying they had to do what he wanted because he was serving in the army. Just felt like legit propaganda to excuse his behavior because he joined the military.
7) Duke and Shannon's brother deciding that Shannon needed protecting to the point that Duke would follow her out of town on dates which is actually somewhat disturbing. Even more disturbing was overlooking the behavior and Shannon's friends even thinking it was cute because Duke had feelings for her.
8) A total lack of diversity, no POC, no LGBTQIA+ rep, not even a diversity of thought for the most part. I know they live in a small town, but that doesn't mean they all have to be small minded, it is a fictional world that the author is building, after all.
I could honestly go on and on but I won't. I almost didn't finish this one and kind of wish I hadn't.
Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this audio book! It is book four in the Getting Shipped series and each book in the series focuses on another couple from a tight knit friend group in the town of Bordeaux (pronounced Bored Ox). I have only read the book directly before this one so I can attest that you can definitely jump in and enjoy the stories even if you haven’t read the previous ones, however, I’m sure that it is even more fun to read them from the beginning. I plan to go back and read the entire series.
The dual narrators for Duke and Shannon were simply perfect. They captured the playfulness of these two characters and I found myself laughing out loud so many times in this story! They also captured the hearts of the characters, as well. Duke and Shannon were so special. I loved listening as they began to realize that they both cared for each other secretly as more than friends. The conversation that Duke overheard from Shannon’s phone call was perfectly timed and I loved his inner dialogue as he listened in, including the promise to himself to wear his cap backwards forever from then on!
This is a clean romantic comedy with lots of swoony moments and sizzling chemistry between two people who must finally be brave enough to admit what their hearts have felt for so long. Yet, what will happen when Shannon’s brother realizes that his sister and best friend have fallen in love?
I so enjoyed this wonderful story and it is definitely one that I will be re-reading.
I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. I also own an ebook copy. All opinions are my own.

Loved it! Savannah Scott has a knack for humor, wit, and reality. I loved the connection of the characters and the way they interacted throughout the entire story. What a fun story. I can’t wait for the next one to be released in audiobook. Having a dual perspective with dual narrators is top notch! I super loved that.

This series is one of my favorite rom com must listens!!! I can't get enough of the snark and witty banter, the flirting, the fun and angst. If you are looking for a light-hearted listen with fun and romance, then this is the one for you! Don't get me wrong, you'll also potentially shed a tear or two along the way, but overall you'll love the storyline and the banter is spot on! I am so excited that I already have the next book downloaded and ready to listen too!

This book has all the things! It has a secret relationship, long time pining, brother's best friend. And it wraps up into this warm cozy blanket of swoon and love. The author did such a good job painting their past and laying out their future. I haven't read these in order, but you don't have to. It has other characters from previous books, but it isn't a spoiler or anything. I loved everything about this story! And dual narrators will win me over every time! I love having both voices. This audiobook was really well done!

Thanks to the author, publisher, narrator and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio version of this title in exchange for my review.
I'm very grateful to Net Galley for introducing me to this series of books! I don't usually go for the rom-com style of book, but saw one of these on the 'listen now' shelf and decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it so much more than I expected to!! Now I actively look for the author and the series, and recommend it to friends who are looking for something different.
This series is so much fun. I love the small town setting (and from living in Ohio, I can really picture Bordeaux and the people!) The author does a wonderful job with describing the town and the people. In this book, we focus on the long term crush 'trope', but the book also does a wonderful job of showing what a nice guy Duke is and how he's been watching out for Shannon and how much he really has paid attention to her throughout their years growing up. They obviously have an attraction to each other, but we skip the sex scenes. Leave that up to your imagination.
I could complain about details - some of the phrasing, the character of military brother Chris, etc. But I'm not going to. It's a fun, enjoyable, easy to read book with wonderful characters and is a fun break from serious books and life. This would be a great escape book for a relaxing weekend, vacation or maybe a 'beach read' (not really sure what that is).
Narration for the book series is wonderful. The narrators are easy to listen to and the dual narration is enjoyable as well.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun, light read. Anyone wishing to try out this genre. Since it's a clean romance, it would be good for lots of different ages - you could even buy it for your mom or grandma and not blush!
4 stars for "really enjoyed it"

This is the 4th book in the getting shipped series and I have not read the other 3 books in this series but I did like this book. It didn't feel like I had to read the other books to know what's going on. I love the 2 Narrators they did a phenomenal job. I also liked the cover very much.
This book was funny, cute and swoony not spicy at all. It's a forbidden love between Shannon and her older brothers best friend Duke. Duke who has been enlisted to protect Shannon from guys by her brother takes full joy in sabotaging her dates. Shannon is fed up being seen as Chris little sister by Duke especially when he's creepy around while she's on a date.
The whole small town in Ohio can see they have feelings for each other so why can't they? & if they do see it do they potentially sacrifice a friendship or a divide in the friend group?

I love this series so much! Each book is such a fun and wholesome romcom, and I enjoy reading each one.
That being said, this was probably my least favorite out of the series... and that is mostly because of Chris. The overprotective older brother trope is just icky to me, so it just felt weird that Shannon and Duke were basing all of their decisions on what Shannon's older brother would think. And it didn't seem like Chris even had a good reason for not wanting the two to date. If Duke had seriously hurt another woman close to Chris in the past, sure, but Chris's response to Duke's dating habits was quite a bit of an overreaction. The whole thing felt toxic and weird, and being in the military is not an excuse for that kind of behavior.
The book was still fun other than that. I think Jayme's book is next, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of her story!

This didn't have the chemistry or personal characterization of the two leads that I needed to be engaged or invested in their relationships. And it was also framed in what I consider more stereotypical hetereosexual perceptions of indivudals and romance.

Literally laughed out loud innumerable times! Savannah Scott is a new to me author and I am SO glad I gave Censor(shipped) a chance. I noticed how many other readers commented about laughing out loud non-stop. I took this a challenge because very few authors can actually pull this off. I thought the premise looked fun and friends to lovers and unrequited love are great tropes. I have not read the other books in the series, and turns out, that was just fine. Each and every character in this series is so full of personality. Actually, I think Savannah just knows how to write believable, meaningful characters. The dialogue is tuned into today’s culture and captures pop references perfectly. Duke and Shannon are each dynamic and together, the chemistry is explosive. The banter is hilarious and left me wanting more dialogue between these two. It is mostly lighthearted, but their struggle is real and understandable. I appreciate their loyalty to family and friends and a desire to be respectful. I genuinely appreciated all the lines of friendships and the various aspects of personalities that come into play. I am looking forward to the rest of the stories in the series.
I had the privilege of listening to an audio version and will confess, that’s probably what brought this story to life in my mind. The dual narrators, male and female, capture personalities, moods, and nuances so well.
I absolutely recommend this clean, sweet, rom-com. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

Absolutely swooning over Duke! Love the relationship between Duke and Shannon. The only complaint I have about this book is that it wasn't long enough. I definitely need more of their relationship

I think some good Christian woman could enjoy this. But I don't consider myself any of these things. I had so many things to critique that I started making a list while listening.
Things I hated:
- at some point, someone said "The CONTINENT of Great Britain"
- Duke disrespects his friends relationship with his adopted kids by implying that he is becoming a father when he announces that his wife is pregnant
- The comment about Duke's father needing to have a son and therefore having more and more kids
Duke and Shanone's brother treat her like a baby and as if they have the right to decide for her although she is a grown woman.
- Duke talks about "She is not mine yet." as if Shanone is property.
- Duke is a really toxic man because "he is not normally an emotional man but" we get it you are a man that is scared that having feelings will make him gay but pls for the love of god shut the fuck up.
- Nobody swears in the book it's always "frick" and "gosh dang it" and whatnot and I hate it so much.
- The way he loves his motherfucking car, didn't like that but I could have seen past it if this would have been his only flaw.
- All the "her brother is risking his life for me and our country", horrible. I am not even gonna talk about why it is wrong but that whole patriotic thing rubs me the wrong way.
I would not recommend this book to anyone I know for all the already mentioned points but also because some things just don't translate well culturally. It feels very America-specific at times and people from other countries would probably not understand the meaning.

This book was so sweet! It's book 4 in the series but I only read the first one and I don't feel like I was super lost. It would have obviously been better to read them in order but you could do it out of order if you had to. Highly recommend this series!
