I thought this book was cute. I normally don't lean toward the friends-to-lovers trope, but I thought this was very well written and executed. The way the author wrote this book made me feel like I was on a phone call with Shannon and Duke while they talked about what happened throughout the story. The story itself was not extremely fast paced but was interesting enough that I didn't want to stop listening to the audiobook. I was pleasantly surprised how the story progressed and how much I enjoyed the book. I definitely want to read more books from this author in the future.

Highly recommend!!

I had to DNF this book. It is just so.... white. Everything is midwestern heteronormative cis white and I live in a community of this every day, I don't want to read it. This book was just not made for me.

I’ve read this story before and enjoyed it, so the audio was a revisit for me. I will forever find this story sweet-it’s my favorite book of the series. The narrators were great, but they just didn’t fit how I saw Duke and Shannon from reading the story previously.

I was given an Advanced Listening Copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media. All opinions are my own.

The narration is really well done and the book itself is quick and sweet. It's a very low-maintenance listen if you're in the mood for some filler content! Small town, big cuties! The book is 2.5 or 3 stars, the narration is 5 stars.

Shannon and Duke have known each other for their entire lives. He was her big brother's best friend, yet she always had a thing for him. While that big brother is away in the military, Duke has been tasked with "looking out" for Shannon. He has taken this duty very seriously, but his feelings start getting in the way. While both Shannon and Duke are trying to make big life decisions, life is pushing them together. Small town life and small town complications make this a fun story.

This book just wasn't for me. I was on board for the first quarter of it, but little things started to annoy me, like the casual toxic masculinity. Once I finished the scene where Shannon met an old fling of Duke's and a bit of drama ensued, yet they kept referring to it as a trial they overcame and their relationship would be all the more strong for overcoming hardship, I was out. Come. On. I can be on board with a fun, mindless romance, but this was a bit much for me, who is a lover of love in general. I've never read this author before, and I did come in to this series in book four, but they are all pretty standalone from what I can tell. I may give her another chance in the future, but this book was a nope for me. 2.5 rounded up to 3 stars.

Title: Censorshipped
Authored by Savannah Scott
Narrated by Amy McFadden; Will Damron

I received an ARC (advanced reader copy) of this book from Netgalley.

Everything about this audiobook is great - the author, the narrators, the characters, and the world building!

I am a huge fan of this genre - it is a Rom Com that tells both sides of the story - including all of the angst, self doubt, and baggage that plagues us all.

The two main characters are salt of the earth good souls with good intentions. As with all good intentions- the ship gets rocky! But the path to smooth sailing is so delicious!

I highly recommend this book to romance lovers. Seriously, my heart is still melting!

When Chris leaves his small town for the military, he asks his best friend Duke to look out for his little sister, Shannon. The two have known each other their whole lives so it's an easy ask.... until Duke and Shannon fall for each other and their attraction threatens to force Duke to break his promise.

This was my first Savannah Scott read and I really enjoyed it. I love the way she's built this small town of Bordeaux (Pronounced Board- Ox not Bordeaux, I love that clarification. Cute.). All of the secondary characters are adorable, so are all the small shops. I am a huge fan of the Gilmore Girls TV show and this town gave me major Stars Hollow vibes. Absolutely loved it.

I thought the chemistry between the characters was good without being vulgar. The narrators were perfect. The female narrator was initially a little much for me, but it fit the romance genre. The story moved pretty well. The only thing that annoyed me a little was how many times in the first couple chapters these characters say they're like siblings (She's like a little sister/He's like my big brother) and I get that initially it feels weird for people to like someone they few up with....but it's overkill. Both characters talk about how they've always liked each other, so really they never felt like siblings, so the continuous talk like that was a little weird.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. If you like the small town vibe or the vaguely forbidden vibe, this book is definitely for you!

This is a cute (pg) romance with a slightly forbidden love. I did like the best friend and older ladies in the dance class more than the main love interests. They both have their own perspectives, but they sound a lot the same, pulling me out of the story. I did like the backstory we got with the female MC’s past and how both of them are struggling to find what would make them happy. There is a slightly off putting note near the end that has the male mix assuming she will have lots of babies (with no discussion on page if she’s down for that, in fact she sort of laughs and brushes it off saying slow down). All in all, the background characters and small town setting kept me interested. If you like cute closed door romance you should give it a try.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Okayyyyyy I thought I liked the rest of this series but I genuinely think this might be my favorite yet. As always, there are plenty of hilarious moments with an adorable love story. The male lead in this one was just such a dreamy hunk of a guy, it made the story soo good. I also love the “big brother” piece because he’s her protector and, really, how hot is that?!

🌀Synopsis
Shannon has had a crush on Duke for ages. She’s so hung up on him it makes it hard to date other people. The problem? Duke is her brother’s best friend and, by default, he acts like he’s her older brother too. That makes him totally off limits. Besides, he’s not into her either. Right?
Meanwhile, Duke has been fighting his feelings for Shannon. He made a promise to Chris to take care of her and taking care of her definitely doesn’t mean dating her. When he finds out she’s dating someone else he loses rationality. Then he overhears a conversation that lets him know she shares the same feelings and that’s enough to give him the courage to move in.
They quickly get into a great rhythm with each other but it’s in secret from the whole town. They want Chris to know first so they can explain. Chris gets home early though and makes them both question the whole thing.

Savannah Scott's Getting Shipped series is one of my favorite series. I want to live in this small town, This book is a swoon worthy (low heat-kissing only), fun romantic comedy. So many good moments between Duke and Shannon, so many scenes together as a couple, that will make you smile and giggle in every chapter. Don’t miss out on this sweet story!

Shannon is Duke’s best friend’s younger sister and strictly off limits. While his friend Chris is overseas with the military, he asks Duke to keep an eye on his sister. Little does Chris know that Duke has always had eyes for Shannon. Shannon has had a crush on her brother’s best friend as long as she can remember. Chris will soon be coming home, just as Duke and Shannon begin to work out their feelings for one another.

Censorshipped is book four in the Getting Shipped! series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading the rest of this very cute series. Most of the prominent characters from the other books do appear in this installment.

Censorshipped is a sweet, “brother’s best friend” romance. In spite of a lot of pining, the book is low-angst. There is plenty of kissing (not overly descriptive) but this is a clean romance so there is nothing spicy. There is also no bad language that I can recall.

While there is some drama toward the end, I would have liked to see the “conflict” stretched out a bit more. For the most part, their concerns were unfounded and easily smoothed over. I also didn’t love that Duke broke things off with his fling/girlfriend in hopes of pursuing Shannon.

These MCs, particularly Duke, are very different from previous MCs in this series and the narrators, Amy McFadden and Will Damron, do a great job keeping all of the characters separate. They also narrated the previous books in this series and seem to become more expressive with each one.

Overall, Censorshipped is a great addition to the Getting Shipped! series. I really adore all of the characters in this series, especially the meddling older ladies. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this series next.

I voluntarily read, listened to, and reviewed advanced copies of this book and audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Shannon has been in love with Duke for years. But with him being her brother's best friend, he's off limits. Unbeknownst to her, he feels the same way. But again, off limits. Do you see where this is going? I think you do. Once their feelings come out, there's no turning back. And I just have one thing to say... let the swooning begin!

Oh my heart! Y'all! I can't even with all the swooniness! I. Can't. Even! Where should I begin? I do have to warn you, this is going to be one of those gushing reviews. But you guys, I can't help it! This book had absolutely everything I want in the books I read! 😍

All the feels? ✓ Swoony? ✓ Lots of kisses? ✓ Giggled/laughed out loud? ✓ Let out all the little dreamy sighs? ✓ Butterflies in my tummy? ✓ Big gestures? ✓ Witty banter? ✓

Eeeeeek! Y'all. I could not get enough of Shannon and Duke! Between their banter, text messages, smokin' hot kisses, sweet moments, seeing each other in a way no one has before, and did I mention their smokin' hot kisses? They are absolutely perfect for each other! Was their relationship all sunshine and roses? Nope. But that's one of the things that makes them perfect for each other. They know just what to say and do to make things right. I loved spending every single minute I could with them and have to admit that I did not want their book to end! It's just that good!

This is my first book by Ms. Scott and I can say it will NOT be my last! I'm excited to go back and read the other books in this series. And I'm definitely looking forward to Jayme's book. I have a feeling sparks are definitely going to be flying between Mr. Grumpy and Ms. Sunshine. Add in Mr. Grumpy being a single dad? Eeeeeeeek! I. Can. Not. Wait!

With every entry into the getting shipped series I seem to like every book more than the last. That trend was finally broken but I still loved Censorshipped.

If you have been here from the begging you know the town and the characters but this book works just fine as a stand-alone. In the last book, you get a little bit of the story from our main characters Duke and Shannon but everything will be explained fully in this book. With that being said I strongly recommend you start at the beginning. This series is great!

So I said I didn’t like this better than the last book which was Townshipped. While that is true it was close. Duke and Shannon are great characters and are very well-developed. I wanted nothing more than happiness for them.

Censorshipped was probably the funniest in the series so far. Shannon’s inability to text clearly and just all the interactions kept me laughing and smiling. Then the way it went to the epilogue I laughed out loud while listening.

The Getting Shipped series is my favorite small-town rom-com series. I strongly recommend starting at the beginning but if you wanted to jump right into Censorshipped you won’t be disappointed.

Savannah has had a huge crush on her brothers best friend, Duke, for yearsssss now. Her brother, Chris, has asked Duke to keep an eye on Shannon while he is away. Being a terrible, texted, Shannon accidentally texts Duke something that was autocorrected and he thinks that she is interested. Even though she is, that was not her intention, and it leads to them texting and flirting. Duke struggles with feeling like he is going behind his best friends back and dating his little sister, but he proves to Shannon that he really cares about her and thinks that they are in it for the long haul.

This story was so cute and sweet. Duke is probably the funniest guy in the series. He is not known for long-term relationships, but he wants to change that for Shannon. I loved the introduction to Chris and his broody self as well. As always, Savannah Scott did not disappoint.

Thanks to NetGalley, Savannah Scott, and Dreamscape Media for this advanced copy!

Review✍🏻

This is number 4 in a series, but can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed how cute this was. If you are looking for a sweet romantic comedy, this will definitely work for you! I was properly chuckling while reading this. The flirting and banter between the two MC’s was everything. I loved how they were friends before and already knew everything about each other. It was a very realistic relationship and they didn’t have any crazy drama. The MMC is definitely obsessed with the FMC and struggles with the idea that he isn’t good enough for her. Swooning for that! He would move mountains for her. The FMC is also so happy just to get a chance to be with him. It’s a really cute and fun read!

Book 4 in the Getting Shipped! series. Technically works as a stand alone, but better if read after the first three books.

Shannon has been in love with Duke, her brother's best friend, for most of her life. Since he is off limits, she dates hoping to find someone who interests her half as much as Duke does. Her brother is active military and asked Duke to watch over her. So he is always there.
Duke only does short term, out of town relationships. He is attracted to Shannon, but she is off limits. After a few revelations, he realizes all of the women in his life have been place holders for Shannon.
Chris will kill them both, but especially Duke, if they date. But their feelings are getting harder and harder to fight- especially once they realize they BOTH feel this way.

This was cute and funny, as all of the books in the series. Duke definitely has charisma. Their relationship was cute and felt realistic. I did feel a bit sad that the seniors of Bordeaux seemed less involved in this one (I love those ladies!) I also wish some of Aiden's animals were more than passing mentions.

Amy McFadden and Will Damron narrate the audiobook. No complaints there.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

What another cute read! This book was sent to me by Dreamscape Media and Netgalley. And like the other two books I've read by Savannah Scott this book didn't disappoint. Let me start off by saying. I really appreciated the audio book because it really brought this book to life. Amy McFadden was a great choice and she's currently my favorite narrator. Ok to the Review. The cute romantic comedy love story of Shannon and Duke. Duke the best friend of Shannon's brother was sworn to protect Shannon while her brother served in the military. But Duke and Shannon over time realized how in love they are with each other. So of course them relaying the message to her brother wasn't a fun idea. In the end everything worked out better than they could have imagined. This book is definitley worth the listen/read.
