This is the ultimate Gothic tale I loved every word of this. This is the book to read on a cool night wrapped up in a blanket. I am anxiously awaiting for the next 2 books to come out. I have to know how this all plays out! 6 stars if I could.

Nora Roberts is the queen of engaging triology’s and this book continues her reign. She has set the scene for 2 more books by creating engaging characters, a beautiful setting & personal growth for the main character. Throw in the bits & pieces of a generations old curse & haunting…..she had me hooked!

This is a boom I will definitely reread as I am waiting for books 2 & 3!

A great start to a new trilogy.
Love the characters, especially Sonya, her mom and best friend. The descriptions of the setting were both captivating and a little creepy! Overall a great story of mystery, secrets and a sprinkle of romance. At times the book read a little slow, but I know Nora Roberts was setting the stage for the next few books. Major cliffhanger at the end.... beware!

Inheritance by Nora Roberts is a delightful written story that pulls you in right away. You want to fight, cry and love with the characters, who are so well fleshed out.

Any Nora Roberts fan knows that her books are the best, but this one has something just a little bit more, barely peeking out that I can’t wait to find in the next installment.

One of the most captivating books I have ever read! This easily makes it into my top 10 reads. Literal Magic! I was spellbound from page one and could not put it down. The characters were so well done they felt like friends. The plot was breathtaking. There are literally no words I can use to describe how this book made me feel. There was suspense and supernatural along with humor and life. It was woven together in the most wonderful of way. I was heartbroken when I reached the end. I can not wait for the second instalment. If you are going to put one book on your must read list this year make it this one. This one will satisfy any audience. I’m normally a thriller/mystery lover and this book hit that and so so much more. Simply astounding!

I struggled with this book a bit and it took me far longer to read than a normal Nora Roberts book does. I've read nearly all of her books at this point and usually finish them in the same week I start them. This one took me almost a month. It's obviously an unfinished version with that has not been edited yet. A lot of errors that require you to read sections again. I feel like one of the brides stories was told twice in a dream unintentionally and one missed. The two main love interests, Sonya and Trey, are just okay. There is not sparkle in these two for Nora's typical characters. I found myself wanting to read more about Cleo and Owen and not caring about Sonya and Trey. The haunted house is an interesting thought. A ghost that runs out of juice, ghosts that do things for you, ghosts that entertain, and ghosts that steal 🤔. I need a ghost Molly. Win a mansion and a fortune if you can stay in haunted house for a few years with a mostly ghosts that clean your house, dress you, and play with your dog all while entertaining you with music. You might have an occasional ghost who tries to scare you for a few minutes until her juice runs out and then she goes on cool down for a few days. Doesn't sound bad right? You can write on my steamy mirror and make a room cold while another ghost is lighting my fires, turning down my beds, and cleaning up after me for a lifetime of money and a home!

I enjoyed it, but the book was very much a first book in a trilogy. A lot of time devoted to setting up the overarching storyline, and the ending set-up book two.

Surprise, it's the first of a trilogy! I requested the book without reading the description, simply because of who the author is. Nora Roberts' newest book, Inheritance, pulled me in right away. A huge old home teeming with ghostly antics, coupled with true love and lusty romance makes this a page-turner. Then suddenly there was no more: I'm left hanging. Looking forward to the next book. Nora does it again with great characters, perfect setting, and setup. Definitely some spine chilling moments in this one. I only miss the old format of her series where each book had a beginning middle and an end with the focus on three couples. Looking forward to continuing Sonya's journey.

This one of my new favorites from nora roberts! So engaging, great characters, awesome mystery. I loved it! I can not wait for the next.

I must preface this review by saying I'm very mad at Nora Roberts right now!! For writing such an amazing book and making me wait (probably) a whole year for the next one!! I seriously loved this book. I loved Sonya and Cleo and their relationship. I love who she ends up dating, and totally called it! I love all the puppy friendships! I do think Sonya works a little too much, but I love that she's able to continue doing something she loves and I looove hearing about Cleo's mermaid. I also really hope that Cleo ends up with you-know-who. I love the haunted house and it's "staff", and I love even more that Sonya has help learning about the spirits that inhabit her house. I can't wait to see where the rest of the trilogy goes!

I really loved the characters and backstory for this latest Nora Roberts novel/series. Sonya is an interesting character that discovers her fiance cheating, but is strong enough to throw him to the curb without the angst involved. I get frustrated by the constant emotional angst involved in cheating spouse/partner stories. Then, interestingly, she finds out about a hidden past from her father that no one, not even he, knew.

As the inheritor of a family estate, and now a self-employed graphic designer, she jumps at finding out about her unknown history and taking the opportunity to experience something new.

The family curse, ghosts, and mysterious history all make this a fun novel to dip into. The only thing I did not enjoy was what I thought was the super abrupt ending to this, book 1, of the series. I was not expecting it to end there. It was jarring and a shock.

A great story, both different and similar, to the style of writing that one comes to expect while reading a Nora Roberts. It was just a great read and story, and the retelling of family history and how the house had a part in helping relay and share that history was awesome!

Loved the book!

Sonya's life is quickly undone when she finds her fiance with her cousin on her bed. Then she finds out she has a twin that she's never known and inherited an estate in the northeast. Nora Roberts starts this first book in her new series, The Lost Bride Trilogy, on page one and doesn't slow down. I wanted to savor and enjoy the characters, setting, and drama, but I couldn't stop reading! I inhaled this one! Now I have to wait for the next in the series...

Right from the very first page, I was drawn into Nora Roberts’ latest release, “Inheritance,” the first installment to her haunting new Lost Bride Trilogy. This slow-paced novel is best savored, rather than devoured, boasting likeable, relatable characters and a uniquely compelling storyline that will leave you craving more. Personally, I can’t wait to dive off the cliff this author left me dangling from and plunge straight into the very next installment of this highly evocative saga.

I have read similar stories over the past few years but was looking forward to the Roberts twist and it does not disappoint.

The plot and storyline are addicting. I had a tough time putting it down, and frankly, absorbed this baby as fast as I could!

The creative way the author blends in the family history, the unique mystery surrounding the family home, and the ancestors are imaginative and intriguing. I love that she does not try to make this into a horror or necessarily a scary story, but more thriller style. Roberts adds wit and humor to lighten it up a bit too.

The characters are a wonderful blend that brings interest and a growing romance is a sweet diversion from the activities of the day and night.

Since this is book one of a trilogy, expect the cliffhanger, and she definitely leaves us hanging. Ack! Having to wait for the next installment is always a drag, but Inheritance is a fabulous read full of ghost stories, creepy dreams, and eeriness that only Roberts and her unique gift of storytelling can deliver.

When I first started reading Inheritance, it seemed like it was perfect person, perfect life, perfect relationship, and I didn't know where the story would go... silly me, I should've known that Nora Roberts wouldn't disappoint. While I'm hoping that some of the aspects from the beginning will play into the story later, this is a story that I started getting nervous about when I realized my progress in the book and how invested I was in the story.

Sonya MacTavish has some life changing events, including learning that her late father was a twin and that her unknown uncle left her a Victorian house in Maine. As these types of stories go, she must live in it for at least 3 years. Able to work from anywhere - and with her life having imploded at home - Sonya moves to Maine to give it a go. As she always does, Nora Roberts has written beautiful characters, and I envy the relationships and friendships of the characters! The stories behind the haunting and the ghosts are as enticing as the living ones.

I love the strong female relationships between Sonya and her mother, her best friend, and the women that she meets in Poole's Bay. The men (other than her asshat of a fiancé) are strong men who don't patronize or infantilize the women in their lives.

I knew it was the first of a trilogy, but oh what a cliffhanger! Can't wait for the next installment.

OH this book! Sonja just walked into her worst nightmare or did she? She finds her fiancée in bed with her cousin. So what’s a girl to do, throw them out of the house half naked and all. But he’s scum and they work together and he gets nasty so Sonja does the only thing she can, she quits and opens her own company. Then she finds out that her dad had a twin brother that he didn’t know about. Her uncle leaves her the family house and all it’s occupants (to bad they are dead). Sonja along with her best friend, her new boyfriend and new cousin take on the ghost and the mystery. This book ends in one hell of a cliffhanger. Loved everything about this book!

Sonya MacTavish's life has imploded. She finds her fiancé in bed with her cousin just a few weeks before the wedding, she's had to quit her job because her fiancé has sabotaged her professionally, and she's at a crossroads when an uncle she never met dies under mysterious circumstances and leaves her a haunted mansion in Maine. The timing couldn't have been better so Sonya packs up her car and moves. In Maine she finds a beautiful mansion (all expenses paid, of course), plenty of customers who want her to do their marketing, a handsome lawyer, and an adorable rescue dog. Oh yeah, and the house is haunted.

I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts. I love her standalone romantic suspense novels and I've read and really enjoyed most of her trilogies. This book unfortunately just fell flat for me. There was very little suspense and almost no romance. The haunting was intriguing but it was mostly just the same few things happening over and over again, beds made, dishes done, cabinets opened. The handsome lawyer was a friend for a few weeks, then he was sleeping over. No wooing, no romantic overtures, I think they went out to dinner twice.

The story was a good one, I love the gothic romance angle of the historic mansion on the coast full of spirits and stone fireplaces. Seeing how this is the first of a trilogy I can live with the lack of action and romance if the book is relatively short, but this book was quite long and it could have benefitted from more action and romance to keep the story moving.

I loved this book! Wow! This is a story of strong women, supportive men, and lovable dogs. There’s family history, ghosts (most playful and welcoming, one not so much), and mystery. Nora Roberts is a master story-teller and this book showcases her talent. I was enchanted by Sonya’s journey as she faced betrayal and then received news of an unexpected inheritance just as she was ready to make major changes in her life. The story is powerful and emotional, fascinating and complex. I love the characters and am enjoying their development and new relationships. I was glued to the story, but was torn between wanting to keep reading but not wanting it to end! I’ll be anxiously awaiting for book 2 in the trilogy!
