THAT ENDING - OMG.
I have no words.
I really loved this book, possibly even more than I expected to. Sonya and Cleo are BFF #goals, and add in all of the characters from the town, it's a recipe for success. The premise is super intriguing, things surprised me more than I expected, and I was engaged from the very first page. The *only* thing that drove me a little nuts was not having a family tree to refer back to, because I kept getting characters confused. All in all, excellent work, and now I'm absolutely dying for the next book!

I know Nora Roberts likes her trilogies, but this ends with a really sharp cliff hanger, dissatisfyingly so. The rest is great NR, great characters, friendships, romance, description, story, etc. just a real WTF ending.

So this was okay...my first time reading a book by this super hyped author and I was so excited but this wasn't anything special or unique... I enjoyed the writing and storytelling, but ultimately there wasn't anything that really held my interest. The plot felt a bit bland and so did the characters.

I really enjoyed the book, I was pretty disappointed in the end. I understand that it's going to be a series but the idea that there wasn't one bit of a small conclusion was disappointing. You have to wait for months for the next one. All of the characters were enjoyable, and the way the wives would include themselves or try to explain things were great. I wish the next one was already out. Only part I didn't like was how Cleo would call Sonya, Son. I know it's a nickname for Sonya but it doesn't come out right. There were a few typos, and as this isn't a finished copy it's to be expected. I did comment the corrections.

I loved this! Gothic, and it hooked me from page one. I've enjoyed Nora’s recent trilogies, and this seems to be setting up for another win.

Inheritance is first in the Lost Bride Trilogy series and what a start! This book is part murder mystery, part romance, and part paranormal read. Engaging and intriguing, I could not put this book down once I started it. Sonya MacTavish is a city girl who lives in Boston, works as a graphic designer and is about to get married. When her world radically changes, she learns her father was a twin, and her recently deceased Uncle Collin Poole, has left her an estate, The Lost Bride Manor. Sonya takes off to the Maine coast to learn more about this manor and a family she never knew existed. Together with her best friend, Cleo, her mother Winter and new friends in the town of Poole Bay, Sonya’s gets to know her new home and town in ways she never expected.
This is a delightful read, I enjoy the writing style of Nora Roberts and this is no exception. Nora writes a story that captures the reader, where the mystery is gently unfolded with teases and hints. I was bummed when the story ended and can’t wait to read the next installment in the series.

Another winner from Nora Roberts. This is a moody tale done Victorian style. It starts with a disastrous and failed office romance which moves the storyline on to a bit of a brooding Brontë style rambling (slightly) hunted house in Maine tale. I’m already rubbing my hands together in anticipation. And I’m not disappointed.
This is the first of the Lost Bride trilogy starting in 1806 when bride number one fantasizes about her upcoming wedding night but is stabbed to death by a former lover of the groom. Skip forward to present day and we meet protagonist Sonya MacTavish. She’s a graphic designer who finds out she’s inherited a vast fortune from her father’s twin brother whose existence was unknown.
Sonya, to escape the stigma of the bad breakup is only too happy to start anew and with only a few personal items, moves into the (slightly) haunted mansion. The family of her uncle seem to bend over backwards to make her transaction smooth and uneventful. They are rich, genteel and good looking and Sonya likes them immediately. And so it begins.
The story held my interest and was the shortest 448 page book I’ve ever read. Too soon did I reach the last page.

Wow!!! Nora Roberts is truly the Queen of Romantic Suspense! I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed are my own.

Absolutely brilliant a perfect blend of spooky and romantic. Trey and Sonya are a good blend for each other and i love the dynamic of Sonya and Cleo. The stryline is awesome with some excellent twists and turns, I can't wait for the next book.

Nora Roberts never disappoints!! I absolutely loved this book! It was spooky and gothic and ticked all my boxes for a fun, fast supernatural read. I devour all of her books but prefer her trilogies and quadrilogies. They are based more on fantasy or family challenges, and they pull me into worlds that one can only imagine in his or her dreams. The only problem is that now I will have to wait until the next two books are published to finish the series. Inheritance is book one in The Lost Bride Trilogy and book two cannot come soon enough. I will be rereading this probably two more times so that I can remember and enjoy the story all over again.
Thank you to the author, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me advanced digital access in exchange for my honest review!

This is the beginning of a new series, The Lost Bride" by Nora Roberts, she is dancing with the supernatural as well as throwing in an evil witch. Centered around Sonya, a graphic designer who has had two life-changing events in a short period of time and her inheritance of a several hundred year old family home on the coast of Maine that she knew nothing about opens a new future for herself. In order to claim her legacy, she needs to move and live in the manor for 3 years. When she arrives, she experiences different phenomena, including spirits who play music that fits with what's happening at the moment, turn on fires, clean up dishes, make her bed, etc. She also sees shadows on the widows walk and dreams of events in the house's past. She comes to accept that the manor is haunted and is intrigued by the mystery of the lost brides. The house is somewhat infamous as the site of the death of seven brides. The friendship between Sonya and Cleo is fun and a reflection of those we invite into our lives that get us. The cliff hanger will have the reader eagerly awaiting the next in the series. The writing, setting and plot is wonderfully laid out. I eagerly awaiting Book 2.
Thank you to Nora Roberts, the publisher and Netgalley.

I have been a huge Nora Roberts fan for years, but admit some of her more mystical books I'm not as enthralled with. However this one hits all the right notes with ghosts, a great heroine, and a super supporting cast of characters. It does end abruptly which surprises me for a NR novel, even one planned as part of a new series. Guess I'll be reading the next one because this story had me hooked.

4.5 stars - There is a reason why Nora Roberts is the modern day Queen of Contemporary Fiction. No one writes like her, period. I love this tale of twins separated at birth, family curses and a haunted manor. The hunky lawyer the heroine finds herself growing close to is nothing to sneeze at either.
It’s perfect, except for the fact that it isn’t a stand alone. I despise cliffhangers, though they’re pretty common for Roberts’ trilogies. On the plus side, Roberts always gives you a full-length installment, unlike other authors who like to take a full-length story and chop it up into bit-size bit, just to milk more money out of a single read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

🤩 Many thanks to St. Martin's Press, NetGalley, and Nora Roberts for this advanced copy of the book!

My Review: I’ve come a long way as a reader because sci-fi and fantasy books were hard for me to get into, but that has since changed. Nora had me with the heartbroken bride-to-be who steps into a lucrative inheritance and moves into a haunted mansion. What a ride this was, and what an ending. That’s what happens when you start a series like this, you get a cliffhanger ending, and now I’ll have to sit on my hands and wait until the next book is released. This book has us in the present day with Sonya (she’s such a badass character because she didn’t take any crap from anyone living or dead!) and her family and friends. On the other hand, she is learning about and interacting with the lives of deceased relatives. I especially loved the setting up north in the mountains during winter. It gave me ambiance. I can’t wait for the next book!

I absolutely loved this book. This book has it all. Not only is the storyline wonderful, but the characters fit it perfectly and are well developed. As usual the secondary characters are just as well written as the main characters. There is a reason why Nora Roberts is considered the queen of romance, no one does it better. Although this book doesn't release until late Fall, and is only the first in a planned trilogy, it is a winner

I loved it! Part one of the Lost Brides was so entertaining! A cliffhanger ending of part one and I was hooked from the first chapter!
What did I like? The author has this tone in her books that is so easy to devour. There’s a haunting tale but with such great characters to really weather the storm. Even the cute animal characters seem to have there own stories and roles to perform.
Would I recommend or buy? I love this author and she has more than a shelf in my library. This feels like a great addition but looks like it will be a trilogy. I loved the first book and look forward to reading the rest! Five huge stars of entertainment!
Netgalley gave me an ARC for my thoughts and opinion. This review was voluntary.

Thank you so much St Martin's Press and NetGalley.
Sonya is a graphic designer. She calls off her wedding after catching her fiance cheating. She then learns that her dad was adopted and that she has inherited a manor from her dad's twin that he wasn't aware of.
The house seems to be haunted by brides who died on their wedding day. Some neat and some scary things happen in that house. Sonya is trying to figure it all out.
This was such an incredible start to a trilogy! I love all the characters and how a mystery is woven throughout the house and its history. Some parts were spooky! I really cannot wait to read more of this. I loved the history of the family who lived in the house, and I also enjoy the characters who exist in the present. Will be anxiously awaiting for book 2!

Nora Roberts’ book, Inheritance, which is book one of The Lost Bride Trilogy, is a deeply satisfying and thrilling read filled with such vibrant, deep descriptions of settings and details that it feels as if you were there inside the pages.
This time-slip book features several powerful, strong women who do not let the bad keep them down.
The protagonist is Sonya MacTavish, who inherits a haunted Victorian house on the main coast.
I could not put this book down and can’t wait for the next two books in the series!
Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC.

I am absolutely stunned having just finished this first book. She has created a world of past and present slamming onto each other mystical ways. It is not yet fully comprehensible
but it is fascinating.
Sonya finds her fiance in bed with her cousin and throws them both out of her house. Shortly after she is contacted by a lawyer who tells her an Uncle she didn't know about has died and left her a mansion in Maine along with the funds needed to run it. She hesitates to leave her Mom and best friend Cleo but soon decides to try it out for 3 months. The story that follows is spectacular.

I'm a big Nora Roberts fan, so when I had the opportunity to get an advanced reader copy of this book, I couldn't pass it up and I'm so glad I didn't!
Sonya inherits a house and household expenses from an uncle she didn't know existed with the premise that she must live in it for three years before it could be hers. She didn't know if she should leave her motor and best friend and move away to the town the house is in. She decides to go ahead and give it three months to see if she thinks she can do it. What she didn't know is the house is haunted and cursed and she is in for an adventure in the.
This book, which releases in November, is the first in the List Bride Trilogy, was a great read and I'm looking forward to book two so I can continue on Sonya's adventure with her.
