Thank you for the advanced readers copy of this very informative book. I flew through it in a couple of days!

This book came across my path at a time when I was just exploring intermittent fasting and I really benefited from learning the science behind this way of eating.

The writing style feels very familiar and easy to understand, whilst still giving strong scientific evidence which gave me confidence to start.

Whilst I would have enjoyed a little more exploration of the 16:8 model, I had never considered longer fasts and now feel I have the resources to do so.
Thank you!

For anyone who is Intermittent Fasting or considering it this is such a useful resource. There are lots of tips and tricks to help during difficult times or just to inspire and motivate. Ramos presents herself as someone who truly wants to help those reading. She uses fact based, sound advice.

Included in the book are anecdotal experiences from Ramos herself as well as some of her patients that have used intermittent fasting. It was nice to read snippets of other people’s experience beginning and who continue to use this method years later.

One of my favourite aspects of the book is the discussions on flexibility while using this method. I do find it very easy to incorporate into everyday life. As well, I love how Ramos demonstrates how we all mess up from time to time, and that is ok, but we just need to move on from it.

This is defiantly a book I would recommend to those using IF or considering it. I know it is a resource I will refer back to time and time again.

Thank you to @greystonebooks, @netgalley, and @meganjramos for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The Essential Guide to Intermittent Fasting for Women is a very interesting read, I confess I didn’t read from cover to cover but I did learn a lot about fasting which is something I am interested in.
The book is full of very sound advice and tips as well as stories from women who experienced fasting for health benefits.
It has technical advice as well as practical advice including fasting schedules which I find very helpful.
There are no recipes in the book, just lots of information. This is definitely a book I personally will be referring to regularly.

My friend used to be a counselor on The Fasting Method website and I was able to get a trial subscription through her. A lot of the information in this book was available on The Fasting Method, but it's so much better to have a book on hand to refer to, highlight, bookmark, etc. As someone who has followed Jason Fung and by default also followed Megan Ramos, there wasn't much here I didn't know...however, this would be tremendously helpful for women just starting out on their Intermittent Fasting journey

I am a type 2 diabetic and obese. I also have hypertension. I followed a low carb, high fat, intermittent fasting protocol a few years ago when I ate meat, and lost a lot of weight and cut back my blood sugar - but that was when I became hypertensive and my cholesterol became high. Since then I've become a vegan - a whole food plant based vegan in the main. My weight crept back up again and I'm once again trying to lose it - and the diabetes and everything else. I've been doing restricted eating, but since reading this book have tried a couple of longer fasts - 24 hour and a 42 hour - and succeeded. I'll certainly be continuing with them.

Megan Ramos explains things so well, in depth but in a very readable and understandable way and has given me the inspiration that I need to try again.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher Greystone Books, I read a free advance review copy of the book. This review is voluntary, honest and my own opinion.

This is a fantastic book, can be read after life in the fasting lane or as a stand alone.

This covers a lot of the key information that women need for fasting. Why we fast, impacts of hormones, recommended protocols, common issues and helpful ways to reduce them, a structured way to get into fasting, lots of anecdotal stories. Excellent guide for women getting into fasting or for those who currently fast but want to do it better.

Great book - although I did think it focused a lot on long fasts - 24/36/48 hour fasts and glossed over 16/8 and other shorter ones. Definitely gives a lot of science based information and really interesting information about hormones and insulin resistance. Definitely going to refer back to this book.
Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for the preview copy.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I love this book. I have been doing intermittent fasting due to Diabetes for a little while now. I really found this guide helpful. It explains everything you need to know in easy to follow information.

Well written and informative. However I wish it would have told you more about the different types of fasting windows and not concentrated on the 24 hour window. Doing it for 12/14/16/18 ect is still extremely effective. I have been doing it for over a year now. But would never do the 24/48 hrs. However I liked reading the science behind it. Was a little bit bored of the case studies and really wanted a bit more.

The Essential Guide to Intermittent Fasting for Women has a lot of really useful information. It explains everything super well for us readers who don't have medical and science focused brains. Megan Ramos made the concept of Intermittent Fasting easy to understand and something I could adapt into my schedule. If someone was interested in learning more about Fasting, I would recommend this book.

This is the second book I've read on intermittent fasting in the past few months, mainly because I’ve been practicing intermittent fasting for over 5 years and I was hoping to glean some additional information on it. This book is a must-have for anyone who is interested in this type of eating/fasting program and most especially for women. I'm not knocking the other book I recently read, but this one had some very eye-opening information that I will be using in the future. Megan Ramos wrote this book based upon her own journey and experience and it really provides practical and useful insights and advice that I feel could be used by anyone, not just women. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of results I'll get by following some of her protocols. I’m grateful to have been given an opportunity to review an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.
