When influencer Cat gets canceled, she accepts her uncle’s offer to work at Kannery National Park in Montana. Life in Montana is very different than life in New York City - including the ruggedly handsome park ranger Zaiah.

I’ve read most of Melissa Ferguson’s books, and I feel like there is always something missing. This was a solid book - I thought the premise was super creative. I just wanted a little bit more. It’s definitely not heavy on the romance - it leaned more women’s fiction to me

This was a quick and cute read! A big city influencer faces scandal and steps away to her uncle in Montana.

Some of the situations I felt in my bones because I am not a "roughing it" type of girl, nor do I enjoy snow or cold. The interactions between the two main characters were cute at times, but I had a hard time feeling the chemistry between them. At times the plot and timeline felt disjointed, but overall this was a cute and sweet read (i.e. no spice). I wish there had been more of Uncle Terry in the story as well!

I really liked the cover of this book so I was excited when I got to listen to it. This was a engaging, low drama, and a just a pure delight! Loved everything about it! I really enjoyed Talon David’s performance of both female and male characters as well. I would recommend this audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for allowing me to listen to this ARC for my honest opinion.

Melissa Ferguson is one of my very favorite authors. When I heard this book announced I was so excited to get my hands on it. As always, she tells a very compelling story with characters that you really want to root for their success. The audiobook version of this story was easy and enjoyable to listen to and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Cat Cranwell was a relatable character who undergoes learning about herself and growth. the connection to social media was reflective. I loved the setting of the National Park. The found friendships and camaraderie of the park rangers had me chuckling with their antics and support systems.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

From Park Avenue to the Parks Department—the world’s most beloved social media star is about to get a rude awakening.

This was a great cosy read!
I really enjoyed the setting of the wilderness and the characters. There was also great conversation around social media and how it can be addictive and control you.
The narrator was really good too!

"I let him kiss me… one last memory to pocket away. Never shutting down officially the hope of something more between us."

I wish I enjoyed this book more. For me this was more of a fiction book than a romance that it was labeled to be. The romance was maybe 20%. I was curious to see how it was played out but I don’t think this book was for me. I think it was interesting to see Cats journey but I was disappointed about the romance aspect

Thank you @netgalley and @thomasnelson for my free copy of the audio book in return for my honest review.

A romance set in a national park just in time for road trip season?! Yes, please!
Cat Cranwell is a social media influencer. She lives her life thinking of what the best photo will be for Instagram or what sponsors she can tie into an experience. Then something happens to topple her social media status and she is forced live in a national park in Montana and help her uncle with the parks social media. Of course one of the rangers is a rugged and swoon worthy.
Although there is an underlying romance, I think one of the main currents of the story is how being plugged in and constantly planning your next post can really make you miss out on life. Sometimes, you need to set your phone down and enjoy the view around you. This hit a little close to home!
The cast of characters was quirky and fun. I was rooting for them the whole time. This one was cute and quick listen.

I loved the dichotomy of a social media influencer unfairly caught in a scandal and small town life with the added element of a classic love story.

It is a classic but cute romance with small town community and love. I love how Cat falls in love with the town and learns more about what is important to her.

A refreshing, funny, and lighthearted slow-burn romance. You won’t find any spice here, but it’s all good because this wholesome story gives you all the warm fuzzy feelings. All the characters were unique and likable in their own way. The FMC had excellent well-paced character development. I’d highly recommend this audiobook!

I really enjoyed this sweetromcom. I like reading about influencers and their lives. The story mainly focuses on Cat and how she is figuring out what's important in life. She was likeable from beginning but she got swept up by fame and missed the bits of living. Like living in the moment and not concerned with every like or follow. I think the author captured perfectly the social media positive and negative side. Zaiah was such a sweetheart although he hated social media he didn't judge Cat.
The setting it sounds like a fairytale. Rustic cabins, snowy mountains and fun local winter festivals!!
All in all it was a funny, low drama, romcom book!

I thought this book was cute. Cat and Zaiah's tension is believable and overall it does engage the reader. I did struggle with the single point of view and as an audiobook, I felt it was dragging a little. Something about the pace, specially for a shorter story, felt off. I liked the overall story, the parks characters were all quirky and cute. Overall, I think it's a fun quick read.

Cat Cranwell is a name that everyone knows. After a rough start to life, she made her way to NYC to start over as an “it” girl that everyone wanted to be. When she is rocked by a scandal and needs to lay low she heads out to the snowy wilderness to help her uncle in a National park.

This book started a bit slow for me. I’m not sure if it was just me getting used to a new voice reading the audio, but I didn’t really enjoy Cat’s voice until she moved away from all the nonsense and actually started behaving like a human being. Though I enjoyed the two main characters together, I found the background characters to be a bit more interesting and they had most of the funny dialogue.

It was still a nice, light listen while I was travelling on long distance trains, but it wasn’t a favourite.

Thanks to #NetGallery and the publisher. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson is about a social media star who makes a bad deal and is shunned by the world that once loved her. Cat is forced to move off the grid and out of the spotlight and finds a job with her uncle at a national park in Montana. While roughing it in the middle of nowhere, Cat finds love and redemption in the most unexpected of places.

I wanted to like this book. I'm always a fan of the city girl forced to live in the wild storyline. But this story just did not work for me. I didn't connect with any of the characters. Cat annoyed me a little, and Zaiah was just way too over the top in his opposing views. What are the chances that a social media influencer just happens to meet the one person in the world who is completely anti-social media due to a tragic past experience...and then they fall in love. It just felt like a very forced setup and I could not get on board with the love story.

Sometimes going into a book blind can cause a real big issue. I figured this would be a rom-com and that it was not. This is a story about a woman finding herself after losing everything she has built. Stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new and maybe not even trying it for yourself but someone else. I think this book missed the mark for me because it felt choppy. I feel like we missed the interactions that made the group of people become so important to the FMC. For as deep meaning as I think this book was going for, there wasn't a lot of character depth.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this book a lot! Only a little less than love actually, and the reason I didn't love this book is not even anything specific, except that I don't get the constant trolling and shaming that's aimed at influencers in media. But I guess that's a bigger issue for another platform.

I loved the characters and literally everything else! I really want to read the other titles by the author now!

What happens to an Instagram influencer when the internet learns she might not be as perfect as her posts? Cat Cranwell goes from millions of followers to being "shunned" online after getting mixed up with the wrong business deal. She takes her Uncle Terry's job proposition at her best friend's suggestion and leaves New York for the snowy world of Kannery National Park in Montana. Trying to adjust to a world outside of her phone, she begins to enjoy all the little moments that happen around her. Her eyes eventually open to Zaiah Hudson and how he is so different from all the other men in her life. Their relationship slowly turns from amicable to friends to a committed relationship. Throughout that time, we see Cat transform from a social media addict to creating healthy boundaries and being more involved in life.

Melissa Ferguson wrote a wintery wonderland-filled book with unique experiences and quaint small hometown characters. She includes a little picture at the beginning of each chapter, which helped make the chapter come to life. This book was a quick and easy read that transported me into Montana and the fun that can be had. I go into a rom-com knowing the couple will end up together, but Melissa's adventure to love was great!

Talon David does such a great job narrating this book! She tries to differentiate between the characters and includes good vocal inflection to make this a great listen! I went between the ebook and audiobook but found myself listening more than reading. She was great, and I will look for more of her narrations.
