I find these Buzz Books very useful for finding out about upcoming books, and for weeding out some books that I thought sounded interesting - until I read a sample. This time, most of the books that interested me did not have samples, which was disappointing. On the positive side, there were a few books that didn’t sound too promising from the description, but the writing was so fresh that I was forced to add them to my list. I keep the following record of what caught my attention, so I can refer to it later.

Books with excerpts:

Elizabeth Crook. The Madstone
Naoise Dolan. The Happy Couple
Cedric the Entertainer. Flipping Boxcars

Books without excerpts:

Kate Atkinson. Normal Rules Don’t Apply
Paul Auster. Baumgartner
Edward Carey. Edith Holler
Sadie Smith. The Fraud
Jesmyn Ward. Let Us Descend
Teju Cole. Tremor
Jhumpa Lahiri. Roman Stories
Lawrence Wright. Mr. Texas
Paulette Jiles. Chenneville: A Novel of Murder, Loss, and Vengeance
Tim Johnston. Distant Sons
Daniel Mason. North Woods
Ed Park. Same Bed Different Dreams
Angie Kim. Happiness Falls
Thrity Umrigar. The Museum of Failures
Lee Child, Andrew Child. The Secret
John Connolly. The Land of Lost Things
Stephen King. Holly
Walter Mosley. Touched
H. W. Brands. Founding Partisans: Hamilton, Madison, Jefferson, Adams and the Brawling Birth of American Politics
Michael Harriot. Black AF History: The Un-Whitewashed Story of America

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.

While I’m extremely excited this sampler of upcoming releases exists, my bank account does not! I found no formatting issues in the Netgalley app. It’s easy to read and navigate.

A useful little handbook about the forthcoming publication in fiction and non-fiction as well as a few other genres. However, there are several eminent titles missing and I cannot fathom why.

I love reading these and finding books that I probably wouldn’t have encountered. I appreciate the diversity as well. I now have quite a list added to my tbr. A few I added are Hold My Girl by Charlene Carr, The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo, The Bullet Swallower by Elizabeth Gonzalez James, Familia by Lauren E. Rico, Evil Eye by Etaf Rum, and so many more. This has me excited for all the new fall/winter reads.

I love getting the Buzz Books guides because it gives me a snippet of all the upcoming books. I get easily flip to a title or author I like, or some that are new to me, to check out a chapter of the book, and link (in the NetGalley app) to request the full galley.
It provides a wide swath of titles and genres, and there is definitely something for everyone. I like that it shows the covers of books, too, as sometimes, a cover intrigues me enough that I want to read the book!
Thanks for providing this look at upcoming titles.

What a fun way to get a little taste test of upcoming books! Like a Costco sample tray. I never like to read synopsis’ because I find sometimes too much of the plot gets spoiled - so this is just the best alternative ever in order to get a feel for if I will like the book!

I was already excited for a couple of these releases, and ended up adding even more of the fiction ones to my wishlist.

Thanks Buzz Books! I will be on the lookout for the Romance version.

I love when this comes out, so many new reads!
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

I always love copies of the upcoming Buzz.Books. It is valuable for book club leaders and book influencers. The only challenge this year is that some of the summaries were hard to read because the print was offset by the book covers.

Thank you Net Galley for this great resource!

It's always a joy to receive the latest Buzz Books offering, but boy is this a lot of sample reading to get through, covering as it does various genres, including fiction, YA and non-fiction! As a result, part of my response was a groan, with such a huge collection with so much that appeals and must read authors, this is going to place heavy pressure on which I prioritise in making my netgalley selections. I already have some to read such as the latest Zadie Smith, and look forward, pending approvals, to reading a number of others. A stellar collection of book samples and authors for readers in the Fall and Winter of this year. Many thanks.

Oh, be still my racing heart! I love it when the new Buzz Books comes out. It's like Christmas for book lovers no matter what month it is. The Fall/Winter edition has 1250 (!) pages and is available through NetGalley or Amazon for free.

There is exciting new fiction from Kate Atkinson, Mona Awad, Paul Auster, Teju Cole, Michael Cunningham, Lauren Groff, Claire Keegan, Louise Kennedy, Stephen King, Jhumpa Lahiri, Alice McDermott, Sigrid Nunez, Tim O'Brien, Zadie Smith, and Jesmyn Ward to name a few. Lots of mystery/thrillers, nonfiction. fantasy, sci-fi and YA from authors you know and love, plus more than three dozen debut selections. My favorite part is getting to read so many extended excerpts which keeps me from buying books I won't enjoy or missing out on ones I would have skipped over.

I was going to list some of my favorites but there are more than twenty so just get it and decide for yourself. Happy reading!

I’m looking forward to so many of these books, especially the new Kiley Reid and Ashley Winstead titles. Thank you for the excerpts.
The format of this was a little difficult to navigate, though.
