Thank you for putting this together!

Usually I love the books they highlight in Buzz Books. The subjects authors are writing about these days just do not appeal to me anymore. I didn't request any of these except for one. Oh well, not every book is for everyone, but it seems to me authors are writing for one specific group. I usually request at least ten of the books that offer a link. This makes me sad.

I love the ability to familiarize myself with authors outside my bubble and find great new reads via the debut section. Thank you Netgalley & publishers for this document!

I will simply say, take a look at this compendium as soon as you can. It is a terrific title that includes many lists of upcoming books. It also features a number of excerpts. Just a perfect resource for book lovers. AND FREE!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Buzz Books for this title. It is out now.

Thank you so much to Net Galley for providing this amazing resource for discovering new and upcoming books in Fall/Winter 2023. I always look forward to these guides to get a glimpse of what is coming soon and to read the excerpts of so many amazing new books. I have added so many more books to my TBR! Thank you again. I can’t wait for these books to be released.

As an avid reader, I’m always abreast of what new books are popular and worth reading right now. But as a book reviewer, with a blog and social channels dedicated to books, I also aim to keep an eye out for what’s coming months down the line. Buzz Books 2023: Fall/Winter is the perfect resource for anyone planning ahead for the end of this year and early next year. It previews of dozens of upcoming books - both fiction and nonfiction, with a special section highlighting debut authors. It notes the planned release dates of an extensive list of books, and select books come with brief summaries and fairly long excerpts (around 10+ pages) of each one, giving a richer example of what to expect in each.

In Buzz Books 2023: Fall/Winter, many of the books listed here were already on my radar, and I was thrilled at the early previews of them. It makes me even more eager to read them! I was also excited to learn of so many additional books I hadn't yet heard of, both by authors I’ve enjoyed and by authors new to me. My list of upcoming books to read and highlight on my bookish channels has gotten quite a bit longer after going through these previews!

Some of the books I was already anticipating, and of which I enjoyed the excerpts here, include: Evil Eye by Etaf Rum, The Pomegranate Gate by Ariel Kaplan, The Djinn Waits a Hundred Years by Shubnum Khan, Familia by Lauren E. Rico, and The Last Love Note by Emma Grey.

Some books that were new to me and are now on my list include: The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo (I loved her first two novels!), Flores and Miss Paula by Melissa Rivero, The House of Plain Truth by Donna Hemans, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams, and Hush Harbor by Anise Vance.

There are also several nonfiction books that I will be checking out as ARCs or upon publication.

There is so much to look forward to in the upcoming fall and winter seasons, and I'm delighted to have gotten this preview of what's coming.

Buzz Books are very useful guides for readers, helping them to plan for the next season. Long excerpts help to check whether a particular book is a good choice. I appreciate that there is always a non-fiction section, as that is the genre I read most.

Thanks to Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

Another great volume from Buzz Books! My TBR list just grows and grows each time a new volume of Buzz Books comes out. I am especially looking forward to The Madstone by Elizabeth Crook, The Busy Body by Kemper Donovan, The Last Love Note by Emma Grey, Midnight is the Darkest Hour by Ashley Winstead, and First Lie Wins by Ashley Easton.

I always look forward to the biannual Buzz Books editions for the coming seasons. They provide a comprehensive summary of books being published in the subsequent months. They help me add to my “To Read” list and give me something to anticipate in advance.

Really appreciate that you put these volumes together and share them on NetGalley. Also appreciate the email notification when they are coming out and have been released. The number of books to navigate is daunting so sources like this are immensely helpful

Pros: I love when NetGalley has these samplers because it helps me narrow down what books to request. There are several authors in this sampler that I've read before (Lauren Groff, Kiley Reid) and know I want to read their next novels. There are also a few new-to-me authors that I look forward to exploring.

Cons: None!

Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch Book Buzz for the opportunity to read a bit from these books!

This was one of the best Buzz Books yet because of the vast selection it offered. I always look forward to these because it gives me a chance to sample books I might not otherwise end up picking up or knowing about. I’ve found a lot of awesome books this way and found quite a few (10+) that I’m going to request and plan to read when they come out via this sampler. Thank you again NetGalley for a wonderful sampler and offering this opportunity- you never disappoint!

Flipping through these catalogues and sampling some of the great and exciting books to come out is always one of my favourite things to do. Buzzbooks always do a great job of presenting their notable releases in one place. This time was no different. Fall and winter 2023 have some great and promising releases on the horizon.
My top 5 of the catalogue were:
- Dead in Long Beach, California by Venita Blackburn
Grief, trauma and flawed coping mechanisms, blurring the line between fiction and reality in a speculative horror novel. It’s giving me Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward and a bit of In the Mouth of Madness-vibes, so I’m excited to see where it takes us.
- The Vulnerables – Sigrid Nunez
described as a novel about what it means to be alive at this complex moment in history and considers how our present reality affects the way a person looks back on her past. All of that through the eyes of a young woman and her connections with others close to her, including her parrot Eureka. If the relationship between dog and owner in The Friend are anything to go by, I’m excited for another human-animal-companion-interaction-story by this author.
- The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff
Lauren Groff writes a historical novel about a girl surviving alone in the wilds; a tale of America in miniature about adaptation and survival against all odds. It sounds ambitious, but given the authors track-record, I’m confident enough she will pull it off.
- Land of Milk and Honey by C. Pam Zhang
Given the beautiful imagery and use of language in her debut, I can’t wait to see what Pam Zhang does with a novel all about food and the senses….
- Blackouts by Justin Torres
This is a bit of a wildcard as I know the least about it, but the concept of a death-bed-story-telling-session between loved ones intrigued me and the authors writingstyle in the excerpt was sublime.

Finally, as an honourable mention, Jonathan Abernathy, You Are Kind by Molly McGhee. I was intrigued by the cover and the synopsis, but i’m not convinced that I personally love the style. I will be waiting for some more reviews from other readers I love before deciding on this one.
