Reading poetry, written in the 13th century, translated from Persian. When I read a translated text I always question the accuracy, so many Arabic words that the English-speaking world has no translation for.

The introduction expands on Rumi’s history, and there mention the Islamic scholars that translated it, but still, I hope the translation is accurate. “Rumi’s” words on the pages are full of beauty, color, light, and insight. Each line of each poem seems to bear Rumi’s soul and inner light, and hearing his wonder and awe as he discovers more and more about himself is amazing.

While I always question any works that I read that have been translated, I am hoping that this publication is as true to Rumi’s heart as so many of his words which are gifted here in English. I’ll ask a similar question I’ve seen others ask before, why have I not read Rumi decades ago? I hope to learn and read more of his work. I enjoyed this book. Pretty sure you will as well.

This is an excellent anthology and I thoroughly enjoyed reading through the hundreds of poems, proverbs, and words of wisdom that this book contained. I have always heard that Rumi was an excellent poet, but I had never read any of his works until today. I am grateful that the ARC has given me this opportunity to encounter this incredible poet.

I haven't read a lot of Rumi so I don't know if this a better translation than other volumes. It's hard to go wrong with Rumi, and I enjoyed collection.

Yet another great addition to the growing collection of books making Rumi’s life and teachings available to a broader audience. His spirit and soul come through and touch the reader, no matter what their own spiritual path may be. Excellent

While I am aware of Rumi, this is the first time I've taken the time out to indulge in his work. I am typically not a poetry person, but I did find some of these entries truly moving.
