Max Monroe always delivers a good story. While I can’t say this is my favorite it was entertaining. I will say it was a little too long and as funny as the authors can be there was a little too much. Brooke Baker is an author who accidentally sent the wrong manuscript to her editor Chase Dawson who she has a crush on. Unbeknownst to him the manuscript she sent is a fictional story about the two of them. Chase loves it and goes above and beyond to get this book published. Her previous book has been made into a Netflix movie and Brook is set to go on a publicity tour for it at the same time she needs to be making edits for this new book. Chase decides to go with her and drives her RV as they travel around for 3 weeks. As you can imagine they get to know each other and the fictional story becomes a reality.

Accidental Attachment is an automatic WIN for me as Brooke Baker has POTS. (I've never read a book with POTS representation until this one so this was huge for me).

Brooke is a successfully published author who grew up in small-town Ohio. Swooning over handsome editor Chase Dawson, she casually wrote a manuscript about the two in steamy situations. Then accidentally sent him the writing. Of course, he fell in love with it and demanded it be published. Now, the two of them are on a press tour for another one of Brooke's books as they work together to edit Accidental Attachment. Will Brooke and Chase be able to work together without either admitting feelings?

Max Monroe delights in their latest, Accidental Attachment. CJ Bloom and Joe Arden take the lead with this dual point of view book and led me to adore Brooke's character even more. Her quirky one lines, ahem Wilson Phillips, and dysautonomia awareness made me smile and laugh throughout. While I liked Chase, I found myself zoning out during his narrations. I look forward to everything this duo publishes and everytime they knock it out of the park!

Thank you Netgalley and Max Monroe for my alc in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story had me in fits of laughter from the get go. The whole concept of the book was great from the manuscript drama to the roadtrip to the delicious slow burn romance and it was made even better by a superhero Cape wearing service dog. I loved the chemistry between Chase and Brooke. The slow burn was indeed very slow, but it was done so well that you didn't realise how much of the book you'd got through. I really should read more by Max Monroe as I find the books hilarious and a good escape from reality. The audio was great. CJ Bloom was an outstanding Brooke and Joe Arden did a fantastic job of Chase. The duo really sucked me into the story. A really enjoyable book and audio.

This book was so so so good ! This book had me in legitimate tears at how much laughing I was doing. Seriously, this is the funniest book I've ever read, well actually listened. The narrator for Brooke was fabulous. If you enjoy audiobooks definitely get this one, I can't recommend it enough.

As soon as I started it I couldn't stop, I was so invested in Brooke and Chase, I freaking loved them so much. They had the right amount of chemistry, the right amount of banter, the awkwardness between them, the steam everything was just PERFECT! Benji, oh Benji the little superhero dog, yes yes he wears costumes. The side characters were also great and added to the story.

It is definitely a slow burn romance, but it was so well done that I never felt bored or irritated. The whole story was entertaining and hilarious. Their personalities were fantastic. Did I say I loved it ?

If you're looking for a hilariously entertaining slow burn steamy romance, do not miss out on this one !

If you need a romcom with laughs, this is the book you.
I have not laughed out loud to a book in a while but ho-lee-crap, I was in tears for much of this book. Brooke is your typical lust struck girl with a crush on her editor – except you know she’s a famous writer, with a contract to Netflix who is about to start a PR tour and a therapy dog, Benji because she has syncopal episodes. She is so lust struck that she essentially wrote a fanfic about the two of them and drunkenly sent him the manuscript instead of the actual manuscript she was contracted to. Chase, her editor, loved the story and decides to stand up for the story. After he sticks out his neck for the new manuscript, he agrees to drive Brooke across the country while helping with edits. The forced proximity trope goes in strong with this one.
This was my first Max Monroe novel but will definitely not be my last! I plan on stalking my library both in person and see what’s available digitally to read more from them!

Imagine you wrote a book about your imagined relationship with your crush, who also happens to be your book editor, and you submit it by accident? Enter Brooke Baker a la River. Brooke is hysterical- she is sweet and an amazingly funny inner monologue. I was rooting for her the whole time, and laughing along with her and her crazy antics. Chase is adorable and I loved the slow burn as they got to know each other.

Successful author Brooke accidentally sends the wrong manuscript to Chase—her new editor and secret crush. Instead of the promised paranormal novel, it's a steamy romance featuring all her amorous fantasies about herself and Chase (with the names changed, thankfully!). He loves the book and convinces the publishing house to move forward with it. He and Brooke are forced into close quarters to revise the manuscript together. Attraction blooms, but will her white lies get in the way of their love?

This is a well-constructed, engaging, and entertaining novel. I loved the story and the characters. I was a bit disconcerted by the idea that Brooke ought to be honest with Chase about the inspiration for the manuscript—authors are under no obligation to reveal that to anyone. Practically speaking, it would have made a working relationship between them impossible. Putting aside the moments that stretched credibility for me, this was a funny, heartwarming, and pleasurable read.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I was so intrigued by the setup of this book as someone with intense anxiety about attachments! This whole mix-up could have been avoided if Brooke used my triple-check method before hitting send, but that's another story.

Brooke Baker is an author with a hit fantasy series and a TV deal in the works with Netflix. She's on the eve of her deadline for the next book, but unhappy with the new series, she's been writing fan fic about herself and her hot new editor, Chase Dawson. So on deadline day, after too many glasses of wine, Brooke accidentally attaches the fan fic doc instead of her half-hearted fantasy title. The problem is, Chase loves it. He puts his reputation on the line to get the publishers to back this unexpected departure into the romance genre. They agree but Chase realizes he and Brooke have work to do on the book before it's ready for prime time. Chase agrees to accompany Brooke on tour for her Netflix series while they work on the book.

There were definitely things to like about this book. Some of the highlights for me were:
- Chase is a super cinnamon roll and he's head over heels for Brooke from the start
- Brooke's service dog Benji brings lots of laughs and lightheartedness to the story
- Lots of forced proximity on tour!
- Slow burn that ultimately sizzles
- The grand gesture in the third act was adorable

The biggest challenge that keeps me from giving this a higher rating is the length. At almost 500 pages (and over 13 hours on audio), it is just too long. So many extra words (ironic when one of the main characters is an editor!) that just detracted from the experience.

I went back and forth between the e-book and audiobook. The audio is narrated by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden who are both great and have very good comedic timing. Joe's minor southern accent was inconsistent as Chase which was slightly annoying, but overall I found myself enjoying the audio more than the ebook.

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was super light, VERY low angst, and overall just an easygoing time. The spice was *chef’s kiss* and Brooke gave me major Jessica Day vibes from New Girl (huge compliment, love her).
Expect:
- Dog with main character energy
- Dual POV
- Open door (toy use!)
- Oops, I overheard your solo time
- Cinnamon roll MMC
- FMC is an absolute hornball for everything this man does
- Quips on quips on quips
Loved the dual narration, I personally get taken out of it a little when they’re doing the other character’s voice but that’s on me so I didn’t knock down the rating

Chase Dawson is perfection! I can see why Brooke wrote fan fiction about him and why she passes out from just being near him. I loved this story so much, and I loved their chemistry! I have never been too fond of forced proximity, but here it works SO well!

I voluntarily listened to an advance audio copy of this book and let me tell you, I LOVED it! Laugh out loud funny! CJ Bloom and Joe Arden did an amazing job with the narration.

In the midst the dreaded 'writers block' and an upcoming deadline, successful author Brooke Baker finally sends her editor the next book in her popular series. Only she didn't. She accidentally sent in her manuscript of a fan fic featuring her fantasies between her and her editor that she has a crush on. A manuscript no one was supposed to see. And one that he puts his job on the line for to get published. Now she has to make it through weeks of revising and editing the steamy manuscript with her editor and crush while he's none the wiser. And in close proximity no less.

This is also my first Max Monroe book and it certainly will not be my last!

Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe LLC for the advance audio copy of this book.

I could not stop listening to this book. It was hilarious and sweet and just so entertaining.

Brooke, an author, is on a deadline to get her next book to her new (very sexy) editor. She is so obsessed with her editor that she has written what is essentially a fan-fic featuring Chase, the editor, and her in what is a very steamy story. Of course, that story is just for her to releases some sexual frustration…..until she accidentally attaches it instead of the book she promised to Chase after a few too many drinks. To her surprise, Chase loves the new book and gets the company on board to publish. Embarrassed, Brooke can’t do anything but hang on and enjoy the publishing/editing journey she is now on with Chase.

This book is excellent for fans of slow burn romance with a quirky, funny female lead. Brooks is so quirky she almost borders on ridiculous at times, but it worked for me. I was invested in the story and the characters and couldn’t stop listening.

And oh man will Chase make you swoon. He is one of those characters you wish existed in real like because everything about him gave me heart eyes.

Brooke also has a service dog who is such a fun addition to this book. I loved his crazy costumes and his own journey to find love.

I listened to an ALC of this one and while I loved the story I had a little struggle with the narration. Specifically, the narrators both went in and out of a southern drawl for Chase which bothered me. The characters lived in NYC and there was no indication that I picked up on that Chase would have a strong southern drawl. Yet both narrators would occasionally slip into a strong southern accent for him. It wouldn’t have bothered me as much if it had been consistent through out the book but the in and out nature of it bothered me.

I would definitely recommend grabbing this book! It will make you laugh and swoon and it totally worth the read.

I voluntarily listened to an advanced listening copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

A laugh out loud book, great narriation well acted.Great characters and story a delightful read.I will like to read more from this author.

I enjoyed this book for it's fun and silliness. I do love an accidental attraction so much and this attraction didn't disappoint. Chase was my favorite character, he was charming and honest. I loved the way he was vulnerable and didn't really hide it. Brooke was quirky and funny if a little too self-deprecating for my taste. I have to add that i don't love lying (even by omission) it just causes drama and break ups in the end so there is never any surprise when the truth comes out.

The narration was just ok for me. The characters felt over the top at some points for me. Both narrators are good at the job, they just didn't work wonders for me with these characters.

Review👩🏻‍💻

This was a cute read about a writer and editor. The FMC is fun and quirky. The MMC is definitely giving golden retriever energy. This was a very, very, very slow burn, but the ending was worth it! I think my favorite part of the book was the service dog that the FMC needed due to fainting frequently. I love when animals are big parts of the story line. I liked that there wasn’t much drama between the two characters, which made them feel more realistic. I liked the writing style too. The only thing I didn’t love was how long it was. I just wanted to know the ending quicker!

Rom com👏🏻
Forced proximity👀
Slow burn🔥
A very cute service dog🐕
Work place romance💘

Sassy, sweet and utterly hilarious, Accidental Attachment is officially a hit.

With awesome characters, a captivating plot and the ultimate meet-cute turned HEA, this book had me swooning (without the aid of a medical condition). Proving that sometimes two wrongs CAN make a right, Brooke and Chase's comedy of errors, fumbles and bathroom squirrel attacks is the perfect cure for the Monday blues, Tuesday feels, and hump day hurdles all in one package.

A special mention goes out to MVP narrators CJ Bloom and Joe Arden for their incredible performance, breathing life and laughter into these characters fabulous characters, making this hilarious, lighthearted and so meta rom com better than my wildest dreams.

5 stars and a canine sidekick

Brooke, a successful author, makes a boo boo by sending her new, good looking editor the wrong manuscript. Instead of the paranormal book he was expecting from her, she sends him the explicit story she's written between him and her, though with different names thankfully! Chase, Brooke's new editor can't believe how hot the book is throwing his support behind her new project. But as the edits keep going, the two grow closer and Brooke knows she's going to have to come clean.

This was a sweet read with some really funny moments thrown in. Both narrators did an exceptional job, bringing their characters to life. I loved listening to them both. This was my first Max Monroe book but it definitely won't be my last.

Witty, charming, and with quite a few laugh-out-loud moments, "Accidental Attachment" was a breath of fresh air.

I loved Brooke's humor and her heart. Brooke is self-deprecating, clever, funny, and a tad insecure. She was dynamic in her complexity and utterly relatable. I also live with a chronic condition, and seeing how Brooke approaches her Syncope along with Benji-her superhero of a dog-made me relate to her character on a level that I don't usually find with most fictional characters (or even real people). I also really liked how much vulnerability Brooke has in wearing her heart on her sleeve. She loves without reservation and I found that to be absolutely endearing.

Our hero of the story, Chase Dawson, was a great character. He was vulnerable and kind and I loved his admiration of Brooke as an author and as a woman.

One of my favorite parts of the story took place toward the end and pulled a few tears from this readers eyes-I was not expecting that for a rom com, but that goes to show how great this story was at getting to the heart of these characters.

I hope that Sam-Brooke's sister-is the star of the next book! I loved her and Brooke's relationship and how they supported one another when they were in their own arduous situations.

If you like a contemporary romance with mutual pining, close proximity, a unique heroine, a hero who appreciates all aspects of the heroine's personality, and a wonderful canine sidekick who has a superhero wardrobe to envy, then this just may be the book for you!

Note regarding the audiobook: The audiobook was narrated by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden. They did a fantastic job and I would read a book narrated by them any day-it is hard to find audiobook narrators that flow well and exude the personalities of the characters they are reading while keeping the reader 100% engaged.

I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook thanks to Max Monroe via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

When you open up a Max Monroe book, you know that you are in for so many laughs. And this was no different.

Brooke has had a crush on her editor Chase since she met him. So what does any sane person with a crush do? They write a book about their fictional romance. And then during a wine induced mindset, they send it off to said editor instead of the book that they are supposed to turn in. And then naturally that book is so well received by their editor that said editor knows it is going to be a hit.

Yep, that all happened to Brooke. And to top it off, every time she has been in Chase's presence since the incident, she has passed out, totally normal from a medical condition that she has.

And to make matters, worse, or better depending on who you are asking, Chase has offered to drive Brooke around in an RV for her three week book tour.

During the book tour, Brooke and Chase get closer and closer and Brooke's crush deepens, while Chase realizes that he also has feelings for Brooke. But how will this relationship survive once Chase finds out that Brooke had an obsessed level crush on him and that this amazing book he is editing is actually about him? Well dive in and find out!

Whenever I read a Max Monroe book, I immediately know that I am going to be in for some amazingly sarcastic banter and Brooke, and Chase at times, BROUGHT THE BANTER. The one liners in this book were phenomenal! This is my first Max Monroe book where there wasn't a big friend group bouncing off of each other, so that was definitely a different direction that this book took. But it only made Chase and Brooke that much more immersed with only each other.

Now onto the audiobook narrators - I LOVED the choices of narrators for this one. CJ Bloom is a great female narrator and Joe Arden has my heart, so I will literally read anything and everything that he narrates.

In all, if you want the laughs, you definitely need to pick up this book!
