I really enjoyed this book! The characters were well developed and the story was engaging. I recommend that others try this book as well. Well done!

First, this is my first time reading from this author, and I am pleasantly surprised. The tone was well established early on and the characters had incredibly realistic thoughts and actions.
The chapter that tells of Claire’s experience when she realizes Kathy is missing was one of the best tellings of that kind of moment. It felt real, it felt relatable (even though I am not a mother myself). The text was written in a casual way that made it sound like a real person could have been sharing their own thoughts.
The energy was high in this book. I felt like the action scenes were written really well and they kept me hooked. There was never a moment where I was bored or wishing things would move along more. I think it was also a great length - and this is saying something since I often find books to be longer than they need to be. But this was great, it had constant twists and developments that kept the plot moving.
After reading the acknowledgments at the end, I’m also glad to hear Omer had quite a few interactions with Cho old psychologists and therapists to refine the interactions and thoughts of Robin in the story. I thought she was written well and handled the situations very believably - she was professional, but she warred with decisions like any person would.
I’ve seen critiques of the fact that Robin had such an unhealthy relationship with her mom and how that doesn’t make sense if she’s a therapist herself… and clearly those people don’t understand that most therapists see their own therapist because you can’t always diagnose or address the issues in your own life on a clinical level. It’s a pointless critique in my opinion.
I think the story or Robin and her mom was interesting in perspective against the resolution of the main plot - it all tied together well and I liked that progression. Although stealing the dollhouse was not the best choice she ever made.
My one major critique is that this book attempted to include a romance and it fell completely flat. The romance between Robin and Nathaniel (which was predictable from the minute he showed up) felt so forced and unnatural. Every kiss and intentional touch felt like it was added in so that there was a romance element and I was just not having it. However, the good thing is that the romance took absolutely nothing away from the main plot.
A second, minor (spoiler) critique is that I’m still not sure what the point of the creepy interaction between Evan and Claire in the car near the end… I’ve tried to think it through and I’m just not sure why he had such a creepy vibe when he wasn’t even guilty.
All in all, I devoured this book in less than 24 hours and loved it. And I recommended it to other friends upon release.

I begged and pleaded for Please Tell Me . Never in my life did I think I would get the early approval from netgalley, but here we are .
I like to believe I read books in a priority order of release date but let’s be serious, that would be a bold face lie . I’m a mood reader, I read what I want, when I want, and when a long awaited book pops up with an approval email. I skip the line like a 5th grader and read the book.
I had to mentally prepare myself for this one . I had pined after this one for so long I needed to make sure I could appreciate each page in entirety.
I’ve never made it a secret that children scare the crap out of me so a book like this is sheer terrifying for me and I loved every minute of it. There is no way you could anticipate the ending but this book right here sure is a doozy.
Do your thing, pre-order the book and count down the days until December 1, 2023z
Teaser :
After a year in captivity, a kidnapped child escapes—only to reveal horrific truths that lead her psychologist on a race against time in this thriller from New York Times bestselling author Mike Omer.
When eight-year-old Kathy Stone turns up on the side of the road a year after her abduction, the world awaits her harrowing story. But Kathy doesn’t say a word. Traumatized by her ordeal, she doesn’t speak at all, not even to her own parents.
Child therapist Robin Hart is the only one who’s had success connecting with the girl. Robin has been using play therapy to help Kathy process her memories. But as their work continues, Kathy’s playtime takes a grim turn: a doll stabs another doll, a tiny figurine is chained to a plastic toy couch. All of these horrifying moments, enacted within a Victorian doll house. Every session, another toy dies.
But the most disturbing detail? Kathy seems to be playacting real unsolved murders.
Soon Robin wonders if Kathy not only holds the key to the murders of the past but if she knows something about the murders of the future. Can Robin unlock the secrets in Kathy’s brain and stop a serial killer before he strikes again? Or is Robin’s work with Kathy putting her in the killer’s sights?

I liked how quickly this narrative moved along. I genuinely wanted to read more because each chapter ended in the middle of a gripping moment, and I couldn't stop thinking about the book even when I wasn't reading it.
I enjoy how the chapters aren't too long since it makes it easier for me to concentrate. I enjoyed the characters, different viewpoints that occasionally appeared, and even a few flashbacks.
I was surprised by the ending because the script did a fantastic job of throwing in distractions!

Please Tell Me is thriller about an abducted child found and her therapist who helps unravel the truth. Robin Hart is a child therapist who helps children deal with the trauma they have experienced through play and art. Eight year old Kathy Stone was abducted a year ago and believed to be dead by everyone but her mother when she is found walking barefoot on the side of the road. Robin soon begins to see Kathy who refuses to speakand helps her to feel safe enough to work through her trauma. Using a dollhouse and art, Kathy soon begins to bring her trauma to life in a twisted tale that will even put Robin in danger. Dark and unpredictable, the story keeps you guessing and Robin’s character is a unique heroine to uncover the dark mystery involved. I would love to read more books with Robin playing lead! My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

Please Tell Me is a Thriller, but I really felt like it was a horror because there were a few parts that were disturbing. This story is about a little girl who was kidnapped for a little over a year; she escaped and she no longer speaks. The little girl starts to meet with a therapist to find out where she’s been, and what she’s been through this whole time she was away. Since she doesn’t speak, she draws and plays with toys, but depicts murder.
This started off interesting right away! You start the book from the child’s POV; her walking alone at night bleeding, tired, and lost. I will say though, the little girl was 9, but she read as if she was 5 years old; nine year olds do not talk like this..
This does take place during Covid (in case that bugs anyone), you get multiple POVS, and this book was fast and intense. Something that bugged me a little was that the therapist assumed what the little girl was trying to tell/show her, and she seemed so positive about it.
There was a little bit of romance in here which I thought was cute. However, towards the end there was a makeout? steamy? scene, and it totally came out of the blue; it did not seem at all that the characters would have done that because their little romance was slow, and then BOOM all of a sudden sex? There was no building in their relationship, so it was so unrealistic.
I think two times, the book kind of rehashed information on what's going on if you’re not understanding, but in my opinion everything was easy to understand, so it was just annoying to read flat out what was happening when you already KNOW what was happening.
From the beginning of the story I assumed who the bad guy was, and I am happy to say that I was wrong. This book did have some really dark, disturbing things, and there were a few twists. I really enjoyed this book, and it never lacked even when the book was starting to end. There were a few times my mouth dropped! Even towards the end! The twists kept coming.
The ending was very abrupt, so much so that I was thrown off when I read the word “Acknowledgements”. I think the direction it was spot on, but Mike Omer did miss a great opportunity. The last quote could have been better.
Overall, there were a few minor annoying things in the book, and the ending was a miss, but I had so much fun reading this, I didn't want to stop.

Want to start off by thanking Thomas & Mercer publication for access to this ARC! This book had me drawn in! I enjoyed the different perspectives including one from the killer. I also enjoyed the fact that the killer was someone “right in front of you the whole time” because sometimes it’s not believable. Would recommend this book to friends!

I love anything with psychology and therapy. Add that to a thriller and you might have just created my perfect book. This was so great.

I really enjoyed this one, right away you were grabbed in. I love reading about a child psychologist (former dream job of mine) so this one was an easy one for me. I was so fascinated with the sessions and learning what happened. I loved the pace of this book, each chapter kept you needing to read on due to cliff hangers. I always enjoy multiple POV’s and short chapters so 10/10 in that department. I definitely didn’t expect the ending. I didn’t care for the small romance subplot thrown in there but it flowed with the book.

I received this book from NetGalley for review purposes.
I found it an exciting, fast paced read, which kept me reading into the early hours. It's a little twist on my usual crime thriller, in that it involves a missing child.
I found the story really chilling in places - especially the way in which the little girl, Kathy, acts out her trauma with her therapist, after she escapes from her captor.
I always like it when a story surprises me - and this one did - I had a very different suspect in mind.
The mention of the pandemic really added to the story and I felt it made it modern and relevant - adding to some of the concerns and storylines.
I enjoyed the therapist, Robin and her character - she was really likeable, and came with her own personal flaws and issues
Overall, I loved this book and will seek out more by the author.

I just finished reading Please Tell Me by Mike Omer and I have to tell you this book was amazing!!! It caught my attention with the first few lines and kept it throughout the whole book. The characters are well developed and people you grow to care about while reading. I couldn't wait to see what happened to Kathy and how she would explain what happened because she was non-verbal. The way the therapist worked with Kathy and was able to figure out what happened was totally amazing.. I thought I had it all figured out towards the end but much to my surprise I was wrong!!! Suspenseful and a great read!!! Thanks once again Mike Omer for telling such a great story!!! Now when's the next book coming out?

Robin Hart is a child psychologist working with Kathy, a young girl who was recently found after a 15-month abduction. When Kathy starts to act out violent murders with dolls, Robin enlists the help of the police to find Kathy's abductor.
What I liked:
-unique plot that hasn't been done over and over
-the last 30% was very fast-paced and exciting
What I didn't like:
-very slow until the police get involved
-lots of unnecessary side characters and storylines that didn't add anything
-romance that seemed to come out of nowhere
-too much COVID
-way too long
-kind of a weird killer reveal
Overall, I liked this one, but wasn't really sucked in until the last third.
Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book

While I enjoyed this book, it didn't quite hit for me. 3 stars... I didn't hate it, but I found it lacking in the plot.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book!

This book is written from the perspective of a few different characters, but focusing on Robins perspective. I enjoyed this book. It got you into the story from the beginning, instead of drawing everything out. Since the story plays out in present time there were a lot of mentions of the pandemic which isn´t weird or anything, but something that irks me a bit. I get setting the story in modern time but I don´t want to read about that. However that didn´t ruin the book for me.
I ended up giving the book 3.25 stars, and i definitely recommend it!

This psychological thriller had me at the end of my seat, I thought I had it all figured out and who was involved, but I was completely wrong. I love this story if you cannot figure out how it is going to end then the story was woven so well it did its job. I loved the dynamic between Robin and Kathy and that the little girl was able to find someone to trust after all her time in captivity. Mike Omer did a great job of keeping me engaged and you get all the things you want out of a thriller, including the plot twist.

Wow, what a fabulous read!
As a long time fan of Mike, this was a change of direction but was completely unputdownable!
I binge read the book and honestly, enjoyed every moment.
Interesting and complex characters, and a totally gripping storyline very cleverly written. I really hope that there will be more "Robin" stories to follow, I would love to see more of this character.
100% recommended.
A huge thank you to the author and NetGalley for my advance copy.

I just can’t with covid in thrillers. It was bad enough living it let alone it being mentioned constantly in books.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning—a gripping tale of a kidnapped child who manages to escape after a year in captivity. Kathy, the eight-year-old survivor, returns home but remains completely silent about her ordeal. As a child therapist, Robin Hart takes on the challenging task of helping Kathy find her voice again. Through play therapy, Robin uncovers shocking details—disturbing scenes enacted with dolls, hinting at unsolved murders. The tension builds as Robin realizes that Kathy's silence may hold the key to future killings.
The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, keeping me on the edge of my seat. The dynamics between Robin, Kathy, and Kathy's parents are portrayed with authenticity and care. The therapy sessions feel genuine, and Robin's dedication shines through as she navigates the delicate balance of helping Kathy heal while unraveling the mysteries surrounding her.
The pacing and plot development are spot-on, with a satisfying yet bittersweet conclusion that left me craving more. Mike Omer's Please Tell Me is a must-read for anyone who enjoys thrilling psychological suspense. It's a tale that will keep you guessing until the very end, showcasing the power of resilience and the depths of human strength. Don't miss out on this captivating journey!

I loved the plot idea of this book, but the constant Covid references were unnecessary and majorly turned me off. I feel like this story had so much potential but ended up falling flat for me.

Wow,this was an incredible experience! The journey of a professional woman and the terror that one little girl, her patient, has gone through. The unwrapping of the horrific things through play therapy is in and of itself truly a moving experience to read about. The author brought Robin, the therapist to life on the page's. Mike Omer wrote another magnificent book! This book, along with the rest of his books will keep you on the edge of your seat! I highly recommend you read it and get ready to stay up all night! Oh, and make sure you turn all your lights on, because you don't want to read this in the dark!
Enjoy!!!
