I throughly enjoyed this one. This is one that I’ll admit I was drawn in by the cover and the title but the book it shelf was delightful. Both characters were well fleshed out and the plot immediately drew me in. Would definitely recommend

As much as I thought this book was an solid 3 star read, I've got to hand it to the author for her absolutely incredible representation. I think it may have been my favorite thing about this entire book.

Regarding the romance in this book itself, it was enjoyable and easy to read. Despite being your typical romance, it was a good book with mildly intriguing characters.

I quick and easy read that left me with a feeling that I was missing something. BUT even though I didn’t love the book I did love the fact that there was representation in dealing with topics of chronic pain, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. I also really enjoyed the enemies to lovers and the forced proximity trope (one of my all-time favorites).

Generally this was sweet, cute and fun book and I would like to read more from this author.

is a breath of fresh air, especially for its authentic portrayal of chronic pain, a topic that's rarely explored with such depth in literature. As someone living with fibromyalgia, I found the depiction of the condition in the book not just accurate but profoundly relatable. Callaghan’s representation of the daily battles and the external misunderstandings surrounding chronic pain is spot-on, making me feel seen and understood.

The story of Autumn and Elijah, evolving from reluctant housemates to something more, captures the complexity of managing a chronic illness while navigating personal relationships. Their slow-burn romance, amidst the backdrop of Autumn's struggle with fibromyalgia and their shared journey towards acceptance and understanding, adds a rich layer of depth to the narrative.

Beyond the romance, the book weaves in elements of suspense that keep you guessing, with a well-constructed plot twist that feels earned rather than forced. Callaghan’s approach to integrating chronic pain into a story of resilience, love, and unexpected companionship is both commendable and necessary.

In short, "Ms. Perfectly Fine" resonated with me deeply, making it a must-read. Its portrayal of chronic pain is not only necessary but executed in a way that brings both awareness and empathy to the forefront. I’m eagerly looking forward to diving into more of Kate Callaghan’s work.

I started reading this book a long time ago and only read the first few chapters. I didn’t really get interested in the book right away and have read many more in between then so I don’t think I will get back to this one.

I never read the entire thing so it could be a great story!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

Cute Love story. Nothing really new and exciting though. I thought there could have been alot more to this story

I tried really hard to get into this book twice. I wanted to give it a second try now that I had more time but I still could not get into it. I loved the idea of this story but there were just too many plot holes and it just felt very forced. The characters are very immature and there is just no chemistry between the two. I really tried to push through but I ended up not finishing about 30-40% in.

Ms Perfectly Fine by Kate Callaghan tells the story of Autumn Adler, a famous concert pianist, who is ready to make her comeback to the stage after a tragic accident and doesn't want or need any distractions. Enter Elijah Wells, a game designer in the midst of building his own company, who has rented her townhouse without her knowledge. Now these two strangers are roommates. And as the author states in the blurb - One house, two strangers and a dark secret. What could go wrong?

I was excited to request this on NetGalley based only on the blurb and the cute cover. This was an enjoyable story and a quick read, but there were some things that lowered my rating a little bit. First of all, the suspense aspect of the story wasn't super necessary. I thought that there was enough in the plot to keep things going, and this just added more in a way that wasn't exactly necessary. I also thought the romance was pretty rushed. They went from 0 to 100 without any kind of slow burn, which I like.

But these things did not deter me from reading quickly and enjoying the overall story. I do like a grumpy/sunshine trope and one where the guy falls first is always a hit for me.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Tropes:
*Grumpy (Her) x Sunshine (Him)
*He falls first and harder
*Hates everyone but you
*Forced Proximity
*Suspense
*Enemies To Lovers
*Healing
*Chronic Pain

To be honest, I felt like this book really was not that great. The enemies to lovers plot escalated way too quickly and it was extremely unbelievable. Like, it genuinely felt like it came out of nowhere?

Adding the extra B-storyline at the end was also unnecessary, IMO. I felt like it only made the sped up ending to the story feel even more rushed and I didn't fully buy into what was happening.

All in all, this is not a book I would really recommend to anyone unless you are very new to reading and want something very fast paced. Otherwise, there are better books out there.

While I would still read another book by this author, I found this one to be a little cheesy. It was the light, fluffy read I needed at the moment, I just wanted more depth, with less cheesiness! The Taylor Swift book title is what drew me in, so great marketing! Overall an ok read!

OOOf I wanted to love this one, I really did. The synopsis had me hooked and I really thought it would be right up my alley. The writing just didn't flow, and the vibe was off. Ms Perfectly Fine was just...fine. I would read more from this author though.

It was a good book. I loved Autumn as the main character of the story. Totally recommend this one if you’re into forced proximity😍!

Sometimes you just need a cute, quick, fluffy read to lift your spirits, make you feel good, and help you escape from real life for a bit, and this book was exactly that! I'm a fan of Callaghan's writing style and will definitely be checking out her other books!

I did not finish. Not because the book was bad, it just was a little too cheesy for me. I may go back and read it at a later date, but that is unlikely.

3/5 stars...

I liked the characters, but I felt their relationship was rushed. I thought maybe I fell asleep while reading and skipped pages, but I didn't. I felt that Autumn and Elijah were interesting enough, although the mystery component was unnecessary.

The book gets a little steamy. It was what I would call a lounge by the pool read. It's not heavy by any means, but not super light either.

There is a lot going on here, which could be daunting, but the carefully created lead characters help ground the story - I really appreciated the 3rd person POV, as it is woefully underused in modern prose, and it helped me connect more with the story as a whole. The mystery plot was not necessary, but was done well.

Book Review: Ms. Perfectly Fine
Stars: 3 x 5
Author: Kate Callaghan
Publisher: Kate Callaghan

Autumn is a pianist who has been planning a comeback after recovering from an accident. She is very private. One morning she awakes to a perfect stranger moving in. Elijah is her roommate’s brother. Autumn and Elijah clash and become enemies and roommates. Elijah is very charming and he is trying to get is tech company up and running. Elijah also brought is dog, Brinkley with him.
The story is about how Elijah and Autumn are forced together starting out as enemies and slowly becoming friends and then lovers.

It was a sweet book but very predictable. They both find love in the strength of another with an everlasting friendship.

I enjoyed this book! This was a reversed grumpy x sunshine read. You’ll get some suspense too. It’s more like slow-burn book. There was a twist and turn I didn’t see coming at the end. You get Elijah’s Autumn’s POVs.

The only critique I have is the unresolved issue with Autumn’s parents.
