Thank you NetGalley and Kate Callaghan for letting me read this book early!
Initially I was intrigued by the description of forced proximity, as well as one of the protagonists being a young woman who suffers from chronic pain. I quickly discovered that the book is told from both Autumn's and Elijah's points of view as well, which I found enjoyable. It's 3rd person narration, which often I find awkward, especially when feelings are described, but I didn't mind it in this story!
What I liked:
- The characters! Elijah made me laugh from the beginning, as did Nina. And Autumn's grumpiness and insisting that she was fine all the time was very relatable.
- This is not just a love story. There's a mystery, too! I did predict "who'd done it", but not initially, and I still enjoyed the plot after I solved the mystery!
- The the narration style made it easy for me to picture everything that was going on. I thought there was balance between the showing and the telling, not too much or to little of either!
- I thought the chronic pain aspect was well written; I don't have chronic pain myself but many people in my life do and it was good to read a story with a main character struggling with many of the same things that my loves ones do.
- I already mentioned the characters, but omg Elijah! So caring, understanding, respectful, giving, mature... The perfect Mr Dreamy!
- A lot of relatable quotes and lines ai just absolutely loved. Examples: "If you're afraid, you're alive", "Just because you love what you do, doesn't mean it doesn't take its toll", "You ha e scars, emotional and physical. I think if you embrace them, you'd be unstoppable ", "You don't need to be sorry for making the right decision for yourself, not for me. I'll take only what you are willing to give", "But you're like a damn weed, always springing back up".
- I honestly felt like I was reading a romcom with a sprinkle of drama and mystery, and I loved that combination!
- Brinkley, the dog 🩷
What I didn't like:
- the pacing was a little off at times. At one point, Autumn says Elijah moved in a couple of weeks ago, and I thought for sure there had been a couple of months by that point, based on how their relationship had progressed and the events that had happened bt that point.
- There were a few formatting errors in my digital copy of this book: a few new chapters that didn't start on a new page with the headings to match the other chapters; a few places where a new line wasn't started when a new person spoke, which made me have to reread parts to understand who was speaking; and in a few places it looked like the wrong pronouns were used, eg him for her, her for his, and in one place the word "go" was used when I think it should've been "do". These were minor things though, and didn't bother me too much, and definitely didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story!
Final thoughts:
I'm happy I got to read this book. It was great fun, thoroughly enjoyable, and I'd definitely recommend it to friends whom I know would enjoy this genre and these tropes! Rating it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ purely based on my enjoyment of the book, as I am a mood reader! Also, Kate Callaghan, if you read this: I definitely think you should write more books like this one; I'd definitely read it!! 😁

This was a fun romance between two people who have to unexpectedly share an apartment. It started out at enemies since she was upset about sharing her apartment with her and they kept playing pranks on each other which was funny. There was some suspense to the story with anonymous letters and weird happenings which created drama in the story. Overall it was an enjoyable read and i did love the addiction of the dog as well. Plus points for taylor swift references!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Ms. Perfectly fine by Kate Callaghan. I enjoyed the characters and plot as well as Callaghan’s writing style. This is a suspenseful romance.
Autumn is a talented concert pianist who bears physical and mental scars from an accident during her last major headlining performance. Elijah is a talented game designer, whose dad Tim requires him to move into Tim’s house which he rents to Autumn. Elijah and Autumn clash and play pranks on one another… Will it always be this way?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book— it was just what I needed after finishing a heavy couple of books. The book will be released on June 8th.
Thanks for the author and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my review.

This was a really fun and quick easy read. I was immediately drawn in and read half the book in just a few hours. This wasn’t your typical romance novel, but there’s a mystery within the story as well. Which I really liked, and was the little extra thing I didn’t know needed in a romance novel.
There were some typos here and there, or some mishaps such as in one scene she was wearing a dress, but then on the next side she was wearing a t-shirt. Their relationship and their deep feelings for one another did also seem to happen quite quickly imo.
Thank you to Netgalley for giving me an e-arc of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Autumn’s quiet and carefully planned out world gets tossed upside down when her landlord unexpectedly rents out the ground floor of her house to Elijah, a game designer facing a looming deadline for his latest project.
Autumn refuses to accept Elijah as a roommate and wants him out. Elijah is equally stubborn and they both try their best to make the other leave.
This forced proximity, enemies to loves romance, for me was unfortunately, just perfectly fine. I was really excited to dive into this story after reading the synopsis. I love video games and music and I was excited to see these two worlds collide.
I appreciated the representation of Chronic Pain and the author showing how the main character was working to heal not only her body but also her mind. The main characters we cute and I was really rooting for them. The banter and pranks made me want to keep reading.
The suspense aspect of this book is where I struggled. Every time the plot went back to the mystery, it pulled me out of the story, and I honestly just didn’t care. The reveal did surprise me, but I was more here for the Autumn and Elijah relationship evolution.

3.5
I loved The Naughty or Nice Clause and was so happy to get my hands on this.
Autumn is a concert pianist and is making her big return to the stage after a tragic accident.
Without her agreement Autumn’s landlord decides to rent out her ground floor and in moves Elijah.
Both Autumn and Elijah are as stubborn as each other and the games begin between the pair in an attempt to drive the other out.
Any book that starts with a playlist gets a huge smile from me.
The representation in this book is wonderful! Chronic pain is not something I’d read about before and I think it was explored wonderfully.
I loved the forced proximity and the tension building as the couple start to turn from enemies to lovers.
I think what held this back for me a little was the fact it’s written in the third person. It’s dual POV which is great but I love a first person romance.
I also wish they’d been enemies for a little longer. They fell for each other a little fast for me.
Despite that, it’s a wonderful quick read and seeing Autumn on her journey with the mystery adding a little intrigue was enjoyable.
Publication date: 8th June 2023.

I thought this book was written very well. The story carried well and didn’t seem to have a lot of downtime to get bored with the story, which I appreciate. With the book being advertised as a romantic suspense, I wanted it to lean more on the suspense side. It seemed like a regular romance novel for the first 50 percent or so. And the parts that were suppose to be suspenseful I felt were lacking a bit of the suspense.

Autumn is a famous concert pianist and when she was on stage the last time years ago, the stage collapsed, and she was trapped. She has emotional and physical scars but is determined to play again. She rents a house from her father’s old friend but suddenly a man is moving in. She is outraged that her privacy is violated, and the angry words begin to fly between her and Elijah. Elijah is building his own company and swears there will not be a problem but before long their love hate relationship becomes more love. I loved the passion Elijah had for his gaming company and the relationship he had with his partnership. When he takes care of his godson, humor abounds. Autumn’s conductor has so much faith in her, and their relationship was special. When Elijah realizes Autumn is in pain much of the time, he is so gentle and caring. Great book with a lot of love and a good mystery.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me this e-arc
This was a fun read a little predictable, but still fun
I can see why another of people did not enjoy it. I had the same issues, but I still found it fun, so 3 stars from me

I’m conflicted about how many stars to give this one, hopefully by the end of the review I will know for sure 👀
I actually enjoy the plot line, I like mysteries and when they add that to romance… oh boy I’m there like number 1 fan 😂
The thing I’m not a fan of is third person POV, still while I was reading MPF it wasn’t that bad that it was in third person and read it pretty quickly. Another thing that bothers me is whyyyy not add the period in Ms. But again those are like details
Moving on…
In this one, we met Autumn and Elijah, who are forced to share the house Autumn has been living in for 6 years ALONE (can you imagine that happening to you) and WORST THING she didn’t even know 🙃
Autumn was in an accident 10 years back and lost her best friend which was hard on her. She’s preparing for her big comeback as a pianist and that’s pretty much all she does, practice and more practice. Plus she’s always fine, even when she isn’t…
Enters Elijah, a game designer in need of a place to stay so he can work on the final touches of his new game to sell it. He arrives as a hurricane, disturbing Autumn’s life.
As more as she wants to keep Elijah far from her, his making it difficult. I mean he starts feeling things for her quickly.
Sadly, this is another thing that I don’t like that much. He definitely falls first and hard, but I think it was too soon? I loved their banter at the beginning and it would’ve been good to continue like that for a little bit longer 🤷🏻♀️
Other than that I enjoyed their relationship and was so happy that Elijah helped Autumn get out of her shelf 🩷
I don’t want to mention anything about the stalker because I will spoil it, but you could easily figure out who it was (well ookkkk first I didn’t know)
To sum everything up, it was a good book but it had so much potential to be even better 🌙

I have no connection with either of the two main characters, the enemies to lovers aspect went too quickly I genuinely thought I had skipped a chapter or two? I think Autumns reaction to having a stranger moving into her house without any warning was perfectly justified considering he just moved all her stuff without asking and also the fact he kept stealing her food??? Like get some manners? 🙃 Elijah was completely unreasonable I just got some very bad vibes from him. I definitely ended up just skim reading this..

This book took me longer than the average book to read. I’m not sure what it is, but me and this book just didn’t vibe.
I normally don’t read books that are written in the third person— I actually don’t come across them very often at all. Though, what I found odd was that even though the entire book is written in third person, each chapter begins with the protagonist’s name as if it is going to be written in their point of view. But, it’s not.
The book also progresses in waves. Sometimes it’s slow, and then it will pick up, and then go slow again. I found the beginning of the book to be very slow, and I was close to dnfing it. But the middle picked and made it easier for me to finish.
As for the plot, the enemies to lovers resolves very quickly. It didn’t have the same tension that other enemies to lovers based books have. It just flipped too quick. I also was able to predict most of the story, including the plot twists. This is like a double edged sword because I like my suspicions being confirmed, but it also took away the anticipation.
Finally, I had a hard time with Autumn as a character. She’s very stubborn, and not in an endearing way. Just in a way that I found irritating. I also found myself wishing that we got more content around Autumn’s chronic pain and how she copes with it.
Overall, this book wasn’t for me. But, if you like insta love, enemies to lovers, and roommates tropes, maybe give this one a shot.

This review hooked me on the first page and I was very interested in the FMC. However, the story seemed to drag and stumbled occasionally on holding my attention. I struggled to understand the overarching goal of the FMC and MMC. However, I enjoyed the journey and the slow burn romance. Seeing a FMC enduring chronic pain is something I think needs to be more in novels as it was a refreshing POV.

This book was really cute! Autumn and Elijah were a believable pair, and the “suspense” part of this romantic suspense novel never detracted from the enemies-to-lovers story we got between the two main characters. I enjoy when at least one character in an enemies-to-lovers plot has a genuine reason to dislike the other, and Autumn’s disdain for Elijah at the start of the book was understandable and relatable. There were times when I was on the edge of my seat reading this book, and when I wasn’t reading it, I couldn’t help but try to solve the unknowns. I also enjoyed the inclusion of Autumn’s chronic illness due to an accident and subsequent surgeries and rehab. She was still a character lacking in nothing, and the representation did a good job of normalizing something we should all be more willing to acknowledge. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to dip their toes into something just slightly suspenseful where the main plot line is between two people falling in love.

Firstly, any book that starts with a playlist is an immediate plus for me.
Ms Perfectly Fine has all the great makings of a Contemporary Romance and I loved it. This had close proximity, reverse grumpy sunshine, chronic pain representation, suspense, spicy scenes, an adorable dog, reluctant roommates to friends to lovers trope (This is a trope I need MORE of) and so much more.
The chemistry between Autumn and Elijah was probably the highlight for me. I loved their banter and how they formed a friendship before any romance even began. Elijah is a whole swoon fest and I couldn’t help but laugh at multiple of their interactions with one another.
I think this had the potential to have a higher rating for me but the suspense part of the book felt kind of rushed to me and I would’ve loved it to be dragged out a bit more.
Overall, I had great fun with this and I would love to check out more by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kate Callaghan for providing me with this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book has almost all my fav tropes and was my first read by Kate Callaghan and I had high hopes. The banter was cute but the FMC wasn’t the best. All in all a good romance.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Kate Callaghan for the eARC

ARC Review
This book didn’t pull me in until about halfway through. Towards the end we lost the focus on the love story, which I did enjoy more so then the drama/mystery piece. Overall, cute love story!

After a lethal accident in her youth, pianist Autumn is ready to get back to playing professionally. Still dealing with chronic pain on a regular basis, she has a routine that works with her. That is, until Elijah, a cocky game developer, moves into her apartment because of a mix-up with her landlord.
Autumn and Elijah are both unhappy about having to share space, but soon enough, sparks fly. When Autumn receives threats that could jeopardize her return to the stage, they have to rely on each other when they need it most.
Overall, this was a cute book. Some of the dialogue was a bit stilted for me, in a way that seemed unnatural at times. However, the 🌶 scenes were very well written . Autumn was written as a relatable female character, although Elijah falling for her so quickly seemed a little unrealistic. She was more complex than Elijah, and I would have liked to see him explored a bit more.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
The book follows Autumn, a piano player who is trying to get back to her concerts after a tragic incident. She's living her best life in her townhouse until her landlord goes and rents out the ground floor to this game designer dude named Elijah Wells. Autumn's not too thrilled about sharing her space, but Elijah's not backing down either. It's like a battle of the wills or something. 🤭
They both hate each other at first and do everything possible to get the other to leave the house.
If you're a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, you'll definitely want to give this one a read. But what really impressed me was how the author managed to weave in a bit of mystery alongside the romance. It made for a truly engaging and entertaining read.
I was totally hooked from the beginning. The forced proximity? Genius. It added a whole new layer of tension to the story. I really enjoyed the dual POV and thought it added a unique perspective to the story. ✨👍
It was a great read and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, romantic book and slightly suspenseful story
