Absolutely riveting. A book not to be missed. Very descriptive. I could almost hear the raindrops and feel the cold rain as they watched the water rising. A book full of compassion, terror, anticipation, and definitely sitting on the edge of your seat Adrenalin.. Can’t wait for the next one!

This is a 6/5! Helpless continues to push the emotional depths of Zoe Chambers-Adams.

Since first meeting Zoe, her troubled life is anchored by her horse that she fears losing to financial difficulties. We have watched her struggles, been cheered by relationships she has made, especially with Pete Adams. In this latest novel Zoe has to put aside her job as coroner to be an EMT and the support Danny O'Donnell needs during his struggle to survive for his daughter, Peyton.

The plot twists are gut wrenching at times as everyone was challenged by hurricane/tropical storm Iona. The descriptions made me feel the rain, the mud, the winds. The bravery of Danny to never give up was emotionally compelling.

Thank you Annette Dashofy for a novel in which your skill with words excels.

Wow! This book has it all! Killer weather descriptions and good guys/bad guys! This is one of those rare books you have to keep reading because you simply can’t wait to see what happens next. Highly recommend!

Omg what a heart breaking book! But geez what a book! This book had it all! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, great police work and as I said a heart breaking story! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! Some of the book was just amazing! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I love every thing Annette Dashofy writes. I especially love Zoe and Pete. I just finished this one in one gulp! Wow! I was the most intense of the series and it made me cry, hard. It was so good, thank you! My only regret is that I’m done and now have to wait for the next one!

I was helpless to stop reading, blown away and totally submerged in HELPLESS by Annette Dashofy -- wow! The damage kept mounting from this “perfect storm,” a long, hard day swamped with troubles caused by nature and humans out of balance. Redemption and hope came from the courage and caring shown by Zoe, Pete, and an amazing team of good guys, as they tried to help an injured father and find his kidnapped daughter.
Toward the end, I was wishing to have it on audio, hard to read because my eyes were blurred by . . . allergies, yeah, that's it, Sylvia and I are both allergic to cats. It's a rare gift to create people so real and to touch emotions so deeply.
One major lesson, even when you feel helpless, keep trying. There’s comfort in knowing you didn’t give up. Another lesson, stop, think, and use strategy.
You might want to plan a day or two free of other events because you may not want to put it down, and you might, like me, need some time to come back to real life afterward. I may come back to this one whenever some problem makes me want to give up, not HELPLESS after all.
