Please see my review for the first book in which I stand by my opinion that it feels like fanfic writing that should have stayed on Wattpad or else had better refinement for publication.

Recently, Noelle, a witch and amateur matchmaker, asked Mamoru Knight for help to stop her friend Aksel from falling victim to a mindless anger. However, she thinks that Mamoru doesn't know who she is because of her disguise.

When Mamoru finds out that Noelle and "Hero," the person he recently teamed up with to eradicate a mindless malice, are dating, he is surprised. Before Mamoru can confront Noelle, the exorcists assault her high school, forcing him to leave.

Like it is a easily story, but i almost gotta sleep while listening AI reading it, because i cannot continue fastly. Thus, i think it is boring and at the begining i lost what was the idea, until i got back reading the synopsis.

The Cat Attacks follows on from Fury and Furry. Although it can be read as a standalone it definitely made more sense having read F&F first. I’ve given this 3 stars but it is more 2.5.

The first thing I have to say is that there is a word used twice in this which I found to be offensive. I believe the word is used more casually in the US but as a UK reader it is an offensive slur and should not be used.

However. The use of that word aside, this was again a fast paced, fun novella. These books really do feel like you are watching cartoon episodes. The cute cat saved it.

The quirky and fun story continues! The Cat Attacks continues on immediately from the events of Fury and Furry.
I'm happy to give this second installment 4 stars compared to the 3 for its predecessor. The writing, while still in need of a good polish, flowed far better here and the dialogue thankfully felt more natural.
We're finally starting to scratch away at the surface of these characters, though it seems it's going to be as slow a burn as the seeming romance it's all but slapping in your face.
I was glad to see Mamoru, our blue haired werewolf be self aware of how his actions, no matter how innocent can come across to others and backing off accordingly.
While again, I would've loved for this to be double the length, we did get some more world building regarding exorcists, spirits and god's. I'm enjoying the seemingly chaotic recipe of so many different elements being mixed together, which is so far turning out surprisingly well. And we also got a non-binary character thrown into the mix which I loved almost as much as the cat. I'm a sucker for cats.
Overall, despite the writing being rough the concept seems solid and I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. I still stand by this needing either serious polishing or to instead be pursued as a visual medium, which I think would take this story to new heights.

I really do enjoy the writing style that this author has, but this book fails prey to the same issues as the first one. It doesn't feel like a stand-alone book, it feels like it was meant to be a few chapters in one larger novel. There is a little bit more world-building, and we get to see some more characters. I still feel that if these two books and potential future ones had been all combined into one larger novel, the story would feel more cohesive. Also, the ending for this one is incredibly abrupt! It's a weird spot to end on as well, it's as if it got cut off at a random point.

It has magic, mystery, gothic elements and romance. A witch saves her friends but things takes an unexpected turn. The story is character driven and it’s really short. First we get to know about Noella then her friend and the other characters. There is an exorcist as well.

The plot has potential but the ending was not that satisfying. I adored the compelling story of a magical girl, secret identities, ghosts and spirits and witches. There are so many unpredictable things in plot.

I totally loved it. I can see that it was written as a lovingly tribute to the manga the author loves (I recognized a few with surprise and affection❤️)
I loved these short stories a lot. At the end I was upset it was over and would have loved to read more, even a book about it!!!
I think they are very peculiar stories, I had not read yet similar writings about Japanese culture.
I am definitely going to follow this author from this moment forward and I look forward to reading future works!!!

The Cat Attacks brings us the second in A.C. Harrah's Match*Make Me A Vigilante series.

As a direct continuation of Fury and Furry, I felt like this was just part of the same book, and not the second. It felt like a very long chapter, and not a full length short story.

We get a lot of new characters, and while we do get a feel for them, we don't stay long enough to see them fully fleshed out.

I enjoyed the story, but just needed and wanted more.

A good next novella, perfect for any manga, magic girl trope, and Sailor Moon lover.

Unfortunately as much as the story was intriguing it felt like one lone chapter. Yes it’s a short story but this felt as though it ended abruptly…like a chapter.

The characters were interesting and I’m genuinely interested in seeing what happens but with more than this happing would be a great way to improve.

Honestly, I felt like this second installment was more like a chapter. The plot, if you call it one, was lacking. The ending is incredibly abrupt and I was left feeling like I didn't even know what happened .

The story picks up right where the first one ends, leading more to the feel of being a simple chapter instead of a full story by itself. Little happens in the book besides the author using the character names a little too much. The writing is rough.

IE: Direct quote from the story: "Selene's cell phone beeped. Selene pulled out the phone. Selene turned the cell phone towards Noelle."

The ghost cat was apparently so adorable it left the viewer mindless, it seemed. Which must be pretty darn cute,

I will probably not finish reading the rest of this series as nothing has happened to make me feel connected to the characters, or curious to see what happens next.

Another winner in the Match*Make Me a Vigilante series, it had everything that I was looking for based on the first book. I was hooked from the first page and really enjoyed how it flowed together. The characters were what I was looking for and am glad I got to know them. A.C. Harrah has a great writing style and I can't wait to read more from the author.

I was very confused through a lot of this book honestly. I wasn't entirely sure what was happening through a lot of it.

Continuing on directly where the go at story left of (almost as if this is a chapter in a full novel instead of individual short stories in a series), this story is not as quirky or fun but actually pretty dark and almost forcibly focused on showing some parts of the magic/supernatural elements in a darker way.


I didn’t really love that.
i would have minded a little section about the exorcists coming and making sure everything was okay but having this guy follow a teenage girl because he believes he knows better after already learning that he wasn’t in the right? not my favorite thing to read.

also i would have loved to get more of the already introduced characters and their relationships instead of a complete focus on the exorcisms.
especially since it still wasn’t really explained in a good way. just that spirits will apparently eventual turn bad in some way.

this was still well written and an okay addition but it really felt like a bridging chapter in a book that will lead the characters from on point to the point they need to be at instead anything really important or worth reading overall.
and again - in a full novel one chapter of that isn’t bad but as an indivisible story… not the best.


let’s hope the next installment will be more focused on the characters and their supernatural things again!
