Set just before Christmas, Naomi has just agreed the terms of her divorce from her husband. It is twelve months since he dropped the bomb shell that he wanted a divorce. Right after they had put up the Christmas tree. She hates her job as a corporate lawyer and has no hobbies. So just before Christmas, home alone with a glass of wine and a tub of ice cream, she receives a phone call from her friend Mia. Mia invites her to the Chateau, a premium hotel that she has been getting ready to reopen for her family business. Rather than spend Christmas alone, Naomi gets on a plane to Switzerland. Where she meets Gabriel, Mia's brother whom she has not seen for fifteen years. We go on her journey to work out what her future is going to look like. With skiing and lots of Christmas activities will Santa deliver her a Christmas to remember or to forget. A pleasant undemanding Christmas romance..

A heart-warming and cosy seasonal read. Very engrossing and was hard to put down. There is something magical about festive books and this one is no exception.

I enjoyed this story very much, the setting in Switzerland was perfect and the description of the village and villagers made me want to visit. The description of the food was mouthwatering and the Christmas markets enchanting.
Naomi as a character was complex. Her insecurities played a part in her divorce and her inability to believe in herself made it difficult for her to change her path in life.
However, she grew on me as the book progressed and her friendship with Mia and past relationship with Gabriel allowed her to start to build up her confidence.
Enjoyed this festive tale.

Naomi is newly divorced and not looking forward to Christmas so when her university friend invites her to her family's hotel launch in Switzerland, she seizes the moment and goes.

It's a fairly run of the mill romantic book, pretty predictable but with some great moments. The pace picked up towards the end but it wasn't as gripping as other stories in the same genre. That being said, the setting was idyllic and I enjoyed escaping there!

This is the first book I read by this author and my first holidays romance this year. The story was cute and predictable, as expected, but I didn’t warm up to the characters. Something was missing for me, but I can’t pinpoint it.

Thank you to the publisher who provided me with an e-copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Naomi’s life has changed, last Christmas her husband informed her he wanted a divorce, and since has no interest in the festive season, doesn’t like her job and no other interests.

Mia, who is her best friend, but due to work and different countries, they’ve not kept in touch much, invites her to the chateau in the Swiss Alps.

She’s unaware of her brother Gabriel also being at the chateau. She’s only met him once, when she was at university, but after getting to know him, he left her without telling.

Naomi helps her plan the Christmas Ball, in the process, she and Gabriel spend time together. She begins to think about her job, and possibly working in a different area of law.

I highly recommend this book.

Naomi is struggling as her divorce is about to happen, a year after her husband asked for one. She is not sure what to do when her friend Mia invites her to spend some time at the Chateau that she is getting ready for it's reopening after being refurbished. She loves it there, with fantastic scenery, friendly locals - until she meets Mia's brother Gabriel, with whom she has history.
There is the potential romance between Naomi and Gabriel, although there are many issues to overcome. Naomi is re-evaluating her life, which being at the Chateau gives her time to do, whilst helping her friend Mia and rekindling her relationship with Gabriel. I've not been lucky enough to try skiing, but the book really brought the location to life for me. Add in the Christmas theme and this is an ideal book to bring the season to life.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

I am hooked on books about Christmas and even better when the setting of the story is Switzerland!
Naomi was not looking forward to Christmas this year since last year her husband Ollie filed for divorce. Her life had fallen apart for her. Her best friend Mia wants to help her, so she invites Naomi to come and spend the holiday in her family Chateau in the Swiss Alps.
The author has done a splendid job of making everything feel like I am right there in the story.
This book is one where a fluffy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa makes the reading time just slip away.
This is the second book in the Chateau Series.
Thank you NetGalley, Annabel French and Avon Books UK. This is my personal review.

So poorly written that it was impossible to enjoy, what appeared to be a good story bubbling beneath the surface. There are much better Christmas novels out there

I received a free copy of, Christmas at the Chateau, by Annabel French, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 of 2 in The Chateau series. Naomi Winter is feeling scrooge like, since her divorce, her bff Mia invites her to spend Christmas at her chateau in the Swiss Alps, of course. I really enjoyed this book, Naomi is a great character, it was wonderful to see her grow in this book, what a great journey she is on.

A sweet Christmas book. That yes is a tad predictable. But most books are these days I find. Stick with it and it will provide you with some festive cheer

I love the cover! The book was just ok for me. It seemed to drag on and on. There was just too much over thinking with the main character. It was a bit predictable too
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

Naomi finds a second chance when she visits her friend Mia for Christmas, not realizing that Mia's brother Gabriel would also be there. Can the combination of snow and Switzerland bring her back to joy in the season? This would have benefited enormously from a strong edit but it's a light read that will will good for travel or a lazy afternoon. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Christmas at the Chateau by Annabel French is exactly what the cover and title suggest. It's a Christmas romance set in French-speaking Switzerland and, naturally, it ends happily. Mia, daughter of a successful hotelier is taking over the business from him. Let Petit Chateau is the newest hotel, luxurious to the enth degree. Her friend Naomi is going through a tough divorce so Mia invites her to stay for December. Also there is Mia's brother Gabriel who features in Naomi's past. Great scene-setting and pretty believable characters.

So cute that I cried along with Naomi! There is a long run up to the romance, a waking up and a thawing of Naomi and Gabriel which works well. Some gorgeous scenery, lovely food and the importance of letting down barriers and having a monthly cry is clear! A lovely winter read.

After really enjoying the first book Summer at the Chateau I knew I would love this. Naomi is going through a divorce. When her best friend from University asks her to join her for Christmas in her new Hotel, prior to its opening she cannot say no. She has never been to Switzerland and has not seen Mia for a very long time. She is mesmerised by the scale of the Hotel, the skiing resort and the beautiful mountain scenery. When she meets Gabriel Mia’s brother she is surprised and still reeling from the way one night many years ago had ended so abruptly. Naomi has many secrets that have moulded her life and this story reveals all. I thoroughly recommend it.

A wonderful Christmas read set in the beautiful surroundings of Switzerland with super scenery descriptions.
This is a book to curl up with and enjoy every page.

I loved Naomi and her reluctance to embrace Christmas the themes of her life were very relevant to me and it was good to see them explored.
The friendship characters of Mia, Gabriel and Alina were all solid characters and made the story very warm, festive and a great read.
The star of the book for me was the scenery, the soft powdery snow, the crisp pine trees, the fairy lights twinkling, the smell of the hot chocolate. I loved this book it was gorgeous, festive and romantic.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

A cute little heart warming romance story in the most amazing setting! The perfect Christmas read, wonderful descriptions of Switzerland, makes me want to go back there!! The characters were well described and each had a good role to play in the story. Looking forward to the next one in the series!!

I really enjoyed this book. This is about Naomi, whose life has gone downhill since her husband Ollie filed for divorce last Christmas, she has lost interest in Christmas, her job and has no hobbies. He best friend Mia invites her to come to her family Chateau in the Swiss Alps. She decides to go. She doesn't know about Mia's brother Gabriel being there. She met him when he came to visit MIa at the university and she connected with him and then he left without a word. Will they reconnect.? Mia is handling the Christmas Ball planning as the scheduled planner can't do it. So Naomi volunteers to help her and ends up spending a lot of time with Gabriel. See what happens. I can tell you this much Naomi finds out she would rather do Care law and not Corporate law. A VERY GOOD READ.
