This nicely illustrated children’s book is just right for the curious, nature loving child adventurer. The author and illustrator narrate the story of a quiet and two children exp.or if a cave. They describe and include colorful artwork of the treasures within caves. Important preservation and safety information is here as well…..don’t wander off, don’t touch the formations, don’t take souvenirs. There’s even a bit about how bats help us by eating mosquitos.
I’d like to see a parent read this to or with their child, and be sure to read and discuss “A note from the author and illustrator” after the story with your child too. This note emphasizes that no one should ever enter a cave without a guide. Children are curious don’t may not realize how very important it is to follow this rule. Lastly, an excellent, short and simple glossary of cave terminology and a resource on how to find guided caves to explore.
I requested this book because I’m fascinated by caves. At 62, I’m far from childhood but I learned things myself. Now I want to check out the resource website to find a tour to go on myself.
I’d recommend this for children interested in nature and/or caves, children who live where they may encounter a cave and a great read when you take your kids on a cave tour to excite them about the wonders they’re going to see inside the earth. This would be a great book to have for sale at cave tour gift shops!

A wonderful introduction to caves & all the wonders found within them.

From rock formations to bats, this is the perfect book for little explorers!

Whilst highlighting the incredible things we can find in caves, the book also ingrains the importance of staying safe when caving in these unpredictable habitats.

An all round lovely little book! Thanks so much to NetGalley & Gnome Road Publishing for the DRC!
