This was a cute story, however, I wish there was more. It just felt lacking and I struggled to feel connected

I watched the movie for My Fault and immediately needed to start the series! Mercedes Ron is such a talented author. I was hooked from the beginning! While the book seems chaotic at times, it also works for the story. Without the chaos, the story wouldn't be what it is. Being in Noah's head was interesting! But obviously the one who stole the show was Nick Leister. My gosh, I was swooning over this bad boy! The tension and chemistry was hot! And the forbidden aspect of the romance had me glued to the pages.

I loved this book so much! But this book is not for everyone - there are some serious, sensitive topics in here and I would strongly suggest you read other reviews in case they may be triggering for you. While I personally did not have issues reading this book, I feel that the physical/ebooks should come with CW for those who do need them.

CW: Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault, Anger Issues, Kidnapping, Mental Health (PTSD), Murder/Attempted Murder, Gangs, Violence. This is a Bully Romance.

Noah is a 17 year old girl whose world is turned upside down when her mom suddenly remarries and they have to move from Toronto to California. She meets both her step father & step brother, Nick, for the first time when she arrives at her new home. First meetings did not go well, there were lots of hard feelings that continued throughout the book. The drama was consistently back and forth but the sparks were flying between Noah and Nick from the very beginning. Nick in all his bad boy glory, kept trying to push Noah away but like a magnet, they kept coming back to each other.

This is book 1 of Mercerdes Ron’s Culpables Series. It is an intense, action packed, roller coaster ride that just kept me flipping the pages to see what was happening next. I finished this book in a day and cannot wait to read the next two books! While there were some grammatical and spelling issues, this book was originally written in Spanish and I feel like part of this issue was due to the translation. I did think that Noah was whiny & bratty but I feel like there was strong character growth in this book.

I watched the movie and couldn't wait to pick up the book. My Fault is an electrifying enemies-to-lovers romance that I couldn't put down. Nick and Noah's chemistry and tension throughout the book while being stepbrother/stepsister make their love story forbidden and yet you can't help but root for them.

Noah is a teenager who is uprooted to Los Angeles after her mother's marriage. She is leaving behind her best friends and boyfriend. Of course, any teenager would throw a bit of a tantrum at the thought of this. And Noah isn't making it easy for her mom. Everything from the city to her new house, and the cars are extravagant but that doesn't buy her happiness. And when she meets her new stepbrother, Nick, she wants to leave as quickly as possible. He is an arrogant jerk who she will never understand or get along with.

Nick is a twenty-something who lives a dangerous and luxurious lifestyle. He is a damaged bad boy who the ladies can't resist. When he meets his new stepsister, Noah, he is intrigued. There is more to her than meets the eye and he won't mind messing with her one bit.

They are not getting along, but as they spend more time together they can't help their attraction. And one kiss to make her ex jealous sets their chemistry on fire. It is forbidden to have these wants and desires so why to they tempt fate every chance they get. As they get closer , they notice their dark secrets and it causes fear and intrigue. Noah gets sucked down the dangerous web of gangs, crime, and the 'rich people' drama. Add in serious feelings beginning to develop and dangerous pasts, and bad things ensue.

I loved reading the book! Sure, Nick and Noah's story is a complicated one but they make each other better. I am reading the rest of the books in the series and I know it's gonna be good!

Read this after watching the adaptation because I was curious... you know - the book is always better than the show.

Liked the writing. Will be reading the next ones.

I've read this book in 2023, and am just writing the review now.

Tropes:
- Enemies to lovers
- Forced proximity
- Forbidden romance
- Stepbrother

This book follows Nick and Noah, both have gone through some trauma during their childhood. They found themselves as step-siblings since Nick's father married Noah's mother. Nick and his father are rich, while Noah and her mother came from a different background. Noah has to adapt to her new life, while also trying not to have feelings for her new step-brother.

I absolutely loved this book. There was so much tension between Nick and Noah. Nick grew so much to be a better person for Noah. I'm so excited to read the next book in this series!

If you haven't read this yet, I definitely recommend it! Make sure to check the trigger warnings first!

I really did want to love this book but I could not get behind the two main characters as a couple. And by not getting behind them I mean this man is terrible and I want him to stay away from Noah. This man left her in the middle of the road at night time and I'm supposed to root for him to get the girl? No, girl run! I also can't get behind him being 22 and her 17 when they met and him calling her attractive. He does not know boundaries, sexually assaults Noah, and then says that he cares about consent. No, you don't! Nick was not a person that I could find myself rooting for and in turn it made me activally root for Noah to ditch him.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. There is a lot of tension in this book. There were parts that just had my heart racing to see what was going to happen next. It starts with Noah and her mother going from Toronto to California. This is because Noah's mother went on a cruise that was giving to her by her best friend since she could not go because of an accident. Noah and her stepbrother Nicholas don't get along. Their first meeting he scares her with his dog Thor. Noah has to make her way through rich people, parties, name brand clothing, feelings, and her mother and stepfather rules. This had me feeling a lot of ways and how they kind of switch a little bit. I can't wait to read the rest.

This book was unfortunately a DNF for me. I just couldn’t connect with it. Her writing style had potential but ultimately it read like a 2014 billionaire Wattpad story.

I absolutely loved the movie and knew I had to read the book. There are some subtle changes between the two but it was awesome reading the origin story of it all! I can't wait to read the rest of the series when it's out.

This book was really good! It reminded me of Paper Princess so if you liked that book you will love this one! A lot of angst and even a little suspense. This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I would definitely recommend this book to others!!

I read this after watching the movie which I absolutely loved. The book was much more detailed and also set in the US. My Fault is perfect for fans of a bad-boy romance and those who enjoyed the Royals series by Erin Watt because Nick reminded me of Reed Royal as he could be romantic at times but was also quite toxic to their love interests. Their relationship also reminded me of the After series (I've only watched the movies) and this was definitely filled with drama. I loved the angst and enemies-to-lovers vibe from Nick and Noah and I definitely wished they weren't stepsiblings because that just makes me slightly uncomfortable. I loved that the book was fast-paced but I did start to lose interest as Noah complained a lot in the book - hence the 3 stars. Overall it was enjoyable and I'm definitely looking forward to the next books in the series.

My Fault by Mercedes Ron was exactly what I was looking for. This book gave me all the feels. Not only was it a steamy, and forbidden relationship but the level of growth, and learning that took place was truly amazing to read about. You tie in some comical moments, as well as "on the edge of your seat" and you have a winner. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I unknowingly watched the movie on Amazon prime prior to reading this book. But this story did not disappoint! Noah isn’t your average girl, Nicks your average billionaires son. She’s got a secret and he’s got secrets she’s going to find out.
The car racing was my favorite and introducing Noah to his friends was a close second. It’s obvious from the beginning the tension between Noah and Nick. How their parents don’t realize it sooner, blows my mind! So what happens now that their parents know they’re inlove and the parents are married?!

I’m already waiting for book #2! CANT WAIT!

Noah’s mom marries a billionaire from the United States. Now Noah must leave her friends, boyfriend, and life behind in Canada. What she did not suspect was how hot her older stepbrother Nick would be. But Nick is a bad boy who does not do commitment and only wants to have a good time. Also, he beyond a jerk. Nick resents Noah and her mom for entering his life and Nick will let Noah know even though he finds her attractive. The only things holding them back is that she is 17 and he is 22 as well as them being stepsiblings. Will these two fight their attraction for one another and will their pasts haunt them?

My Fault is marketed as “After meets The Kissing Booth” and I say that is pretty accurate. I personally have not read the After series by Anna Todd, but I’ve seen some of the movies. I did however read The Kissing Booth books and watched the movies which I absolutely love (I freaking love Noah from The Kissing Booth). Another book that I kept thinking that reminded me of My Fault is The Royals Series by Erin Watt (Book one is Paper Princess and one of the writers from the Erin Watt duo is Elle Kennedy) which I read back in 2017 and absolutely loved. I know I said the marketing is perfect and it works but I think Paper Princess meets The Kissing Booth is probably way more accurate.

Nick is a toxic male which I am not afraid to admit and there were times I just wanted to be the one who slapped him instead of him slapping other characters around. He’s just like Noah from The Kissing Booth if you want a comparison and he reminds me of Reed Royal from The Royals Series too. With him being toxic it could be annoying, but it really did not take away my enjoyment of this book and did not really bother me.

I really liked Noah and sympathized with her with her traumatic past which we do not know much about until the end of the book.

There were a lot of moments where I wanted to shout at them to just admit your feelings to one another, kiss, and get together. But I think the angst and the enemies to lover trope was well played.

This book is pretty fast paced, and I did find the ending to be a bit rushed. I still really enjoyed it and would read the other books in this series. Also, I heard there is a movie so I probably will watch that soon.

Hot & HEAVY!! I can’t believe this is a YA romance!! This was just as fun as the movie l: I look forward to the next two in the series to come out! I will be honest. I only wanted to read this because I saw the movie. Loved the movie. Book, not so much. Noah is way more annoying in the book than she was in the movie. She whines way too much for me.

I got this book as an eARC in exchange for an honest review from Net Galley! So thank you to the team for providing me with the ARC!

I don’t think this book by any means - I think a lot of people are basing their feelings off the movie and that’s just not fair lol.

This was an emotional rollercoaster that my tummy doing flips and flops and I could feel the tension in the pages.

I am excited for another Merceds book in my future!

Reminds me of Beautiful disaster Jamie McGuire. With the tension and enemies energy Noah and Nick give off. Also has some suspense and lots of drama which I enjoyed reading.

This book had me captivated right from the very beginning, I absolutely flew through this book.

This book follows Nick and Noah, both individuals have gone through some sort of trauma during their childhood and now have found themselves step brother and sister due to their parents getting married. Nicks father is rich, and Noah and her mother Rafaela have come from a less privileged background. Noah has to learn how to adapt to her new life and deal with everything she knows being practically burnt to the ground, whilst also fighting new feelings that are bubbling under the surface for her angsty, moody step brother Nick.

I absolutely adored this book, the characters were so loveable and funny! The tension between these two was EVERYTHING. Nicks character development was honourable! He really grew, in the little space of two months, to be someone Noah truly needed and deserved. I love the both of them. I personally don’t feel like this book should be YA but it is according to Google lol.
