Denise William has had me hooked since I first read The Fastest Way to Fall and I was so excited for this second chance from her. As much as I wanted to love this one I did just feel like the chemistry was not all the way there. Still cannot recommend her catalogue enough and am looking forward to what she comes up with next.

It took me so long to finish this and that just shows how hard I was struggling to give it a chance. I will say, if it wasn’t because I did it in audio, I would have DNFd it.

The writing was not my favorite. I found the characters lacked real chemistry and the plot was just moving along a little too slow for me. I needed something more to be completely hooked.

I panicked with the unexpected pregnancy and the massive communication that started happening in the spam of seconds. Like girl I get it that this is a change and unexpected and you were freaking out but Jesus let the nervous and scared man speak and get his thoughts out before freaking tf out and speaking for him. Pearl was just annoying a lot. She was a grown child with the immaturity level still very high. Jesus Christ. I was close to DNFing at 85% but alas Joe Arden was doing such a good job with the narration and I love him.

I liked that it was going back and forth between past and present. I love the diversity in the book and the use of they/them pronouns. If I had the study motivation she had… I would have done soooooo good in college 🥵🥵 This man was so freaking hot!! But I think he deserved better than the FMC and how she treated him.

Pearl and Cord haven't seen each other since she turned him down 5 years ago when she left his company in Chicago and took a job in California. They haven't forgotten about each other, though, and when Pearl moves back home and sees Cord at her nonprofit's gala, the sparks fly again. The last time she turned him down it was because he was her boss, there's no such conflict this time, but he has accepted a position on the Board for her company, so the stakes might be higher than they were previously.

The chemistry between Cord and Peal is spectacular, but there's so much additional depth to this story. There are nuanced characters (two of whom are non-binary and it's just natural and beautiful the way that they're introduced) and sharp critiques of how women in the workplace are treated (particularly women of color). I found this story inspiring, moving, and so much fun to read.

Denise Williams is a wonderful author and her books are so well written and easy to read. I can't wait to see what future books she writes.

Denise Williams is one of my auto-buy authors, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read Technically Yours. If you’re a fan of second chance romances or workplace romances, this one is for you!

Pearl Harris and Cord Matthews first met seven years ago, but work and life got in the way of their romance. Now, Pearl and Cord are thrust back into each other’s lives and have to navigate having a romantic relationship while maintaining their professional relationship.

I instantly loved Pearl and Cord and how realistic they felt. Peach, Cord’s cat, was a great addition to the story. I’m a sucker for male characters who dote on their pets. It was also great so see so much non-binary representation in a mainstream romcom.

Second chance romance , work place. Overall a cute story however I will attempt to reread later. I kept putting the book down it wasn’t holding my interest

Maybe it was the mood I was in, but this book was not for me. I had trouble connecting to the characters and didn't care for the second-chance romance storyline.

Denise Williams books always make me swoon! I loved this second chance romance - the banter was incredible and the characters were relatable. And I loved the cameos from her other characters from other books!

Technically Yours is a second chance romance, dual timelines and dual POV. I love this format because it really allows us to see where things fell apart for Pearl and Cord in the past, while also letting us into their heads in the present. These two sweet angels just want to be loved and to not be hurt again 😭. Denise really outdid herself with the steam on this one too 🔥. I loved this one and feel confident about recommending it. Hot people in STEM plus depth and fun family dynamics! What more could you want?

Cord and his petal were a couple with hangups that derived from past relationships and parental mishaps. This cause them to miss out on each. The second chance troupe was very heavy in this book and it was a hard worked for HEA. At times the couple frustrated me throughly, but a majority of time I was smiling with the sweetness of their relationship. The book definitely thrown me we the sexy time happened because it was definitely hot…so no complaints from me. All in all a great book and would definitely read this author again.

I definitely enjoyed Denise Williams writing and will be checking out more from her in the future. However, this romance wasn't my favorite. I found myself frustrated with the relationship between Cord and Pearl, particularly Pearl's insisting that things are casual meanwhile, Cord is clearly head over heels in love with her. Even in the flashbacks it is evident that this isn't a fling. Pearl's stubbornness and driven nature at work are understandable, but I found it frustrating. Part of this just might be that this has some aspects that are a hard sell for me personally as a reader.

Things I enjoyed - Pearl's relative Tye who Cord ends up mentoring goes by they/them/theirs pronouns and it is just effortlessly put into the text. I love casual representation like that. Pearl's family and friends kept it real with her and were great, fleshed out characters in their own right. I would recommend this book if you tend to jive with the workplace romance setting, tech company setting, and a second chance romance told through flashbacks.

Denise Williams is an auto-read author for me, I just love her writing style and characters. This particular read wasn’t my favorite though, I felt like the workplace romance could have been settled with just a talk with HR, so it was a bit over dramatic to me.

Cord is a great book boyfriend, I will give you that. I applaud Denise for who seamlessly our nonbinary character representation was written.

Another delightful romance from Denise Willams! I’m such a fan of her writing style it’s just funny and sexy and always a good time!

In this second chance romance we meet Pearl Harris. She gets appointed acting director of OurCode, a nonprofit aimed at inspiring high schoolers to code, she has a chance to make lasting change for the organization, but a scandal has put their reputation at risk. Further complicating matters, Pearl didn't expect the one man she hasn't stopped thinking about in seven years to be the newest member of her board of directors. Cord Matthews fell for Pearl when they met in an elevator seven years ago but when she broke his heart, he decided love wasn't for him.

After five years with no contact, their connection is immediate and Cord must consider breaking his ban on serious relationships. But going public with a romance between them might derail Pearl's career and the progress she's made at OurCode. Pearl and Cord both are hesitant to trust their feelings and take a risk as they grow closer, but it becomes impossible to keep ignoring the electricity between them.

I really enjoyed the romance between Cord and Pearl! The time jumps were fun and we got a good grasp on their relationship. I do wish Pearl had met Cord more halfway I felt like he was doing a lot of the legwork of the relationship. The spicy scenes were done so well! I loved seeing Cord getting dominate in the bedroom (and tent 😏).

Overall it was a really fun time and would definitely recommend!

I love Denise Williams' books. I've been a fan since her first book and I'm glad to say her streak continues. In Technically Yours, the dialogue and banter is so good. If you've been missing people actually falling in love in romance novels, this is the book for you. Technically Yours is my new favorite by Denise.

3.5 rounded up. this second chance workplace romance had the usual denise williams charm which i love. loved the dual POV/timeline. everything was so seamlessly woven together. something just fell a little flat for me?? maybe it was because pearl literally had the most drool worthy man begging for her and she had literally no solid reasoning to say no but did anyways?? would still recommend especially if you like denise williams!

loved these characters, particularly Williams' skill at creating a dual timeline and putting them into spicy situations!

I was introduced to Denise's writing from The Fastest Way To Fall which I absolutely loved. This story was where I was first introduced to Pearl and Cord and even though they were supporting characters, my interest was full piqued and I was chomping at the bit for their own story.

I loved that they finally got their second chance and how the story was structured giving us looks into their past to inform what was happening in the present day. It added great perspective in to how Pearl and Cord progressed through their respective reservations about relationship.

I have to mention this especially, kudos to Denise for centering a story on a Black FMC who is working in STEM. I can't readily recall other stories like that but I especially appreciated that.

Kudos to Denise for writing another stellar romance novel that I will be adding to my faves!

Denise Williams is an auto-read author for me. I have absolutely adored her romances and always love her heroine's. I was extra excited to see that this book featured programming - which is what I do for my career.

But this book just didn't quite hit the mark for me sadly.

I thought that the premise of this was fun in theory. I love of a good second chance and/or forbidden romance.

But in this case, the "forbidden" aspect was 100% self induced. The entire plot of this could have been fixed with 1 trip to HR, and 30 minute conversion, and some signatures.

The heroine, while strong and loyal and dedicated, was self-sabotaging to the extreme. The choices she would make felt so out of left field sometimes it was aggravating.

While the hero had no personality at all. He was so bland and unmemorable. I literally can't remember a single fact about him other than he was attracted to the heroine.

The best part of this book was hands down the side characters and mentorship program. This allowed for a discussions about inclusion and diversity in the STEM world which I always appreciate and love to see.

While this one wasn't a hit for me, I'm still very interested to pick up Denise Williams' next romance. I think she does amazing diverse romances with unique setups and themes and I can't wait to see what she does next.

I love everything Denise put there. It is always a good story with solid characters, sexy scenes and great supporting characters.

I don't love an office romance, especially when it is forbidden love - that is my preference, so take this with a grain of thought.

Regardless, I enjoyed this romance between Pearl and Cord - we get to see how they came together in the past and the present.

The supporting characters were just as exciting and added fun to the story.

Denise Williams has done it again! A perfect romance with a leading man I LOVED. Denise knows has to make a romance that I can’t put down! This book also has my all time favorite trope, a second chance romance. I finished this one in two days because I loved it that much! 5⭐️
