When I say I audibly had a WTF moment during this book I’m not kidding 😅

This was honestly one of the greatest grumpy sunshine books I have ever read and I can’t wait to continue the series!

I love this world and am so glad to be back in it. The friendships, the romance and the family atmosphere makes this series special. Jayme and Grant didn’t disappoint. This grumpy/sunshine couple have great banter and some very hilarious moments. This story pulled at my heart strings and made me laugh out loud. Grant knows the way to Jayme’s heart and man can he grovel when necessary. I loved the secondary characters, especially Grant’s daughter and father. This is a special series.

The narrators did a good job and were easy to understand and follow.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A cosy closed-door romance with a grumpy-vs-sunshine trope in a small town with wildly nosy neighbours who are all looking to get the low down on the town’s new doctor and single dad, Grant. I loved the start of this book and how Janey and Grant met, as well as all the embarrassing situations Janey found herself in and I had set myself up for a lot of humour and fun for the rest of the story but I found that while there were lots of jokes between the pair there wasn’t a lot of fun. The story seemed to primarily take place inside the house and when they did go on a date, it was kind of skimmed over so I would have liked to see more of these two interacting together romantically and getting to know each other. That being said, there’s an unexpected bombshell in the second half that made me gasp and say ‘no freaking way’ out loud! I for sure did not see that coming and I kinda loved it. As far as drama goes, I think that one won the medal! It was good to see that Grant was aware he did wrong and needed to prove himself, and that Janey didn’t forgive him at his first apology and instead stood her ground.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

Doctorshipped by Savannah Scott

This is the 5th book in the getting Shipped series. Jayme feels like she’s the last single person in Bordeaux. She handles her multiple jobs with dexterity and joy. She has a goal. Accepting a tutoring job for the new doctor and his daughter has Jayme feeling a bit smitten. Bordeaux, Ohio has a new doctor—the grumpy but lovable single dad Grant Peppers. Having lost his wife to cancer, his sole focus is his daughter and medical practice.

I loved how this book was written the Grumpy Grant with his amazing daughter moved to Bordeaux and Jayme finds herself maybe not wanting to be single anymore. The way the two met was amazing and I couldn't even imagine having my unmentionables opening up and having a cute young doctor hand them back to me.

My only complaint is that the narration by Amy McFadden and Will Damron didn't give them their own voice after hearing all of the books in the series through audio book I wanted each pair to have their own sound. I felt like the characters sounded the same in each book. Even with this I really did enjoy the story.

I recommend this to anyone who loves the Grumpy trope in romance novels this was a really well written grumpy character. This was a five-star read for me and cannot wait to see what Savannah Scott writes in the future. Also, this was a fast pace read and can be read separately from the other books in the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a free audio copy of Doctorshipped for an honest review. All thought and opinions in this review are my own.

Romance: 3/5
Chemistry: 4/5
1st kiss: +-62%
Spice: 0/5 (it's a clean one y'all)
Humor: 5/5
Cry factor: 0/5
Drama: 1/5
Suspense: 0/5

- I had an ALC for this one and the audio is brilliant. The narrators Amy McFadden and Will Damron are the best, love them to bits. They both change their tones so we know who is speaking, they both do emotions very well. Amy F even sounds tired and sad, happy and excited when her characters are so. And Will has the most amazing male voices (yes he has more then one).
- The story itself is fabulous. Funny as ever, as to be expected with this author. Almost every page has a laugh out loud moment, so good for those facial exercises!
- The townsfolk are amazing, not too overwhelming, but with the right dose of nosiness.
- The group of friends is amazing, always there for one another and supporting in every turn, ready to jump and attack.

Overall:
- This is a clean, hilarious romance story, loaded with chemistry and very steamy kisses. So feel good moments with our grumpy male character and his sweet daughter and our sunny, spitfire female character. The three blend so well together and compliment one another.
- It is definitely a fast paced read and a page turner. There not not a dull moment in this book.
- The side characters are plenty and make some funny moments too with the small town feel.

Tropes:
- Grumpy vs sunshine
- Small town
- Doctor MMC
- Author FMC
- Single dad
- Rom-com
- Clean romance

Doctorshipped is the 5th book in the Get Shipped series (these can be read as standalones).

It's a grumpy/sunshine, single dad, small town rom-com located in the little town of Bordeaux (pronounced Board Ox), Ohio. It has all of the loveable characters from the previous Get Shipped books who you can't help but love. It was super sweet, humorous and filled with lots of witty banter.

It's a fast paced, feel good story that literally had me laughing out loud. I loved Grant and Jayme's "meet-cute". It was slightly embarrassing, yet totally relatable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this free audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

OMG! I love these books so much! They have all been so sweet and make me giggle! I adored Grant and his grumpiness and Jamie’s quirky personality. This has been my favorite of the series thus far and am excited to see who’s love story is shown in the next book.

Loved it! I love the shipped series by this author, and add in dual narrator? Phew! It was SO good. The story is phenomenal and heartwarming. It deals with sensitive subjects but is dealt with so well. Story? Awesome. Plot? Well done. Characters? Amazing. Narrators? out of this world!

Doctorshipped is the fifth book in the series, though it is the first book I have read.
It is the story of Jayme, a romance novelist who has sworn to be single forever, and Grant, a widowed dad of 11-year-old Fiona.
They don't get along at first, and there is a lot of great witty banter.
There were parts of this book that I really liked. I actually laughed out loud a few times, and I really like Jayme. She is strong and unapologetically herself.
I liked Grant a lot as well, but the big twist didn't feel like it actually fit, and this brought down my overall thoughts on the book. I give it a 3.5/5 and would still recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audio arc! This was such a great listen! The narrators were perfect for the characters and the book itself was just so fun. I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and it was done so well in this. I was nervous when I started it, because I realized it was only one book in a series but I was so happy to find out that you don’t have to read the others to enjoy this one. I’m a city girl through and through but this made me want to spend some time in a gossipy small town.

A sweet and loving story. Bordeaux and all the crazyness from the people of this small town ar back again. This time time to.matchmake the last woman standing, adorable Jayme, and the grumpy new doctor in town. Will they be a good match or all their differences will break them? The audiobook is really amazing. Amy McFadem and Will Ramdon feon Dreamscape media do a fantastic job with Savannah's words.

Jayme, a fantasy romance writer, is the last single woman in her small town, but she is very happy to be. Until she walks into her new part-time job of tutoring Fiona. Grant is the new doctor in this small town nobody knows about. He's not happy about the move, but it was necessary. Fiona is his almost teenage daughter, and she already made a connection to her during their flight, when Jayme fell asleep on her father's shoulder before they landed and he helped her pick up her underwear from the airport floor when her suitcase unlatched...
This is an age gap, single parent, small town, grumpy sunshine romance, and I loved it! Book 5 in the Get Shipped! series, I loved to be back in the small town of Bordeaux, Ohio. You can totally read this as a standalone, but the 2 other books I read in the series were also good, and it was fun to see all of the previous characters pop-in occasionally in this one. And I loved, loved, loved Fiona, she's so adorable!
I am not a fan of when an author creates "false problems" (I don't want to spoil anything here) and the 3rd act break up/twist were weird. Do I think Jayme overreacted? Absolutely. But I loved Grant's grand gesture to get her back. I listened to the audio book, and the dual narration (him/her) was great, each character with their own voice.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Doctorshipped is another sweet, clean rom-com from Savanah Scott. As with other books in the series, a supporting character from the previous book now gets the chance in the starring role. This time around it’s Jayme (Shannon’s smart aleck roommate from Censorshipped). If you’d read that book then you’d know that Jayme is a sci-fi/fantasy romance author who has pretty much given up on finding love outside of her books. But in the town of Bordeaux, Ohio (pronounced Board OX) never say never. That’s where grumpy Grant Peppers comes in. Doctor grumpy Grant Peppers to be exact. A widower, he’s come to Bordeaux for a fresh start for him and his daughter Fiona. Jayme ends up being Fiona’s tutor…so naturally Jayme and the grumpy doctor end up interacting frequently…and slowly she brings some light back into his life and she realizes maybe there can be love for her beyond her books. I this series. Savanah Scott just has a way of weaving wonderful rom-coms filled with excellent characters with just the right amount of heart and humor. And as always Amy McFadden’s and Will Damron’s narration is spot on. I’d like to thank Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy of the audio version of Doctorshipped.

3.5/5 ⭐ (rounded up for Goodreads)

Doctorshipped by Savannah Scott is a super cute romantic comedy. I liked this book more than I thought. I just wish there was some more 🌶️. This book is the definition of grumpyxsunshine and executed it so well. The MC, Jayme, is adorable and super relatable. The plot is unique and very relatable to anyone who has ever felt like the third wheel. Overall, super cute read, and I would recommend this book to a friend!

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of the audiobook.

The book itself is ADORABLE! I love how the characters are real and they work through real issues (and any of us that have been in a relationship that leaves us scarred can relate so well).
The narration was perfection in my opinion. I felt the emotions of it all but it didn’t seem overdone.

Favorite Pickup Line: “I’ll be okay because we are going to be okay. I’ll hold enough hope for the two of us.”

Post Date Recap: So let’s start with this cover. It drew me in immediately and I wanted more. Also the fact that my real life includes a lengthy career in healthcare means that I wanted to see exactly what this doctor was like. Trust me, real life ones are NOT like McDreamy, McSteamy, or House, but I still wanted to give it a whirl.

Doctorshipped is an adorable, sweet romance with definite Hallmark vibes. I don’t know that I would label it a romcom (a tag that seems to be placed on nearly every romance that comes out lately), however it gave me SO MANY “awwww”s as I listened.

Since my review has on the audio book, I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the narrators at least close to the beginning of this as voice actors truly set the stage for audio books hitting right. The female narrator clicked for me immediately and her tone at times sounds nearly identical to Sarah Michelle Gellar which I consider to be a major win. The male narrator took a while for me to enjoy, but after about 10 ish chapters–or roughly a quarter of the book–I found myself feeling his voice fit the character well.

Doctorshipped features Grant, a single dad who moves to a small town where his extended family resides to open a home-based primary care practice and Jayme, an author/flower shop worker/fortune cookie writer/tutor. There is a strong element of opposites attract in this sweet/slow burn romance. As Jayme works with Grant’s daughter, she gradually falls in love with both father and daughter and her chipper, optimistic outlook on life challenges his more brooding side and tempts him to step out of his regimented lifestyle.

Along with opposites attract, the primary trope is grumpy/sunshine. Now, this is not at all a trope I dislike, but this was something that was repeated verbatim over and over and over in this story. Trusting the reader to know what kind of story the author is telling is something I really would have liked to see more in this story. One mention where the story is sort of calling itself out is charming, repeatedly saying it gets a bit annoying.

My only other complaint is something that I’ve actually seen in several books I’ve read recently is breaking the fourth wall. I’m not sure if this is a new trend, but it makes my eye do a little twitch with each instance and there were numerous ones in this story.

This was such a pleasant and enjoyable read for me, taking me to a sweet, small town where everyone is nosy in a most charming way. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for a small escape from a noisy world. And the “black moment” twist at the end was something I certainly did not see coming and was SUCH a treat to read. I was incredibly impressed, but can’t divulge more because that’s something you should discover on your own book date!

A special thanks to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for setting up this book date.

This was my first book in the Getting Shipped! series set in Bordeaux, Ohio, a small, close-knit town.

This is billed right up front as a sweet, closed door, romance. But this is not a sappy, sweet, side hug setup with 30 year olds with the life experience of middle schoolers. These are grown ups with snappy dialogue and real life interactions. Even the Sunshine meets Grump troupe feels fresh and realistic in this book. Jayme is guarding her heart after a messy breakup but still appreciating all the loving happy couples around her. Grumpy Grant comes to town to be the town doctor and give him and his precocious daughter a new start. It's terrific! The community of previously paired off friends and townsfolks are funny and loyal and quirky.

After meeting some of the other couples, I'll definitely go back to book 1 and see how all their relationships started.

The narrators were excellent. A great audio performance.
