After a chaotic day for both Lana and Christian, the two of them meet in a storage closet at an L.A. hotel. While Lana is avoiding confrontation with her boyfriend and best friend who she just found out were sleeping together, Christian is hiding from the paparazzi.
He is a famous actor and she is a PHD student, and yet the two of them strike up a fast friendship.

Lana, newly single, decides to take a chance on Christian. Except she doesn’t know the full truth about him - that he is exceedingly famous. Christian is happy to learn that a woman exists who does not know who he is and therefore likes him for him.

I was so excited about this book as it has an adorable meet-cute, a woman in STEM, a handsome British actor, and huge potential. Overall, the book was really cute and very fast paced, so much so that I ended up reading it all in one sitting. I thought the chemistry between Lana and Christian was strong from the beginning, but the romance felt a bit rushed.

I really liked how in the beginning Lana and Christian communicated and were honest with each other about what was bothering them. I thought their dates were really cute, but again the romance felt a bit too rushed. It seemed like most of their interactions were a bit surface level during the first two dates. However, the main reason I am giving this book a 3 star rating is because of the third act.

Now, I am not a fan of the third act breakup to begin with, and I was a bit sad to learn that it was due to miscommunication. I feel like Christian did everything wrong even if he was trying to do it for the right reasons, to protect Lana and her privacy, and the resolution felt a bit too casual for my taste. The grand romantic gesture was cute, I’ll give him that, but he needed to grovel more - a lot more, to earn her forgiveness. As for Lana, she was so level headed the whole book, but made some questionable decisions under pressure.

As for the side characters, I really liked Winter. She was a loyal friend to Lana and gave some great advice. I am looking forward to her book.

This was a cute book! The author mentioned wanting to give it 90s romcom vibes and it definitely delivers that. The romance between Lana and Christian is cute, but I wasn’t obsessed with them. Things I really did love about this book was that the characters for the most part - with some exceptions - were super direct with each other about their feelings. I also liked the celebrity/ normal person romance trope and think it was handled well, it’s realistic that Lana would be overwhelmed, but I was glad that she didn’t let that stop her from being with Christian.

Overall this was a cute, closed door, romance that was fun to read!

A fun, light, closed-door romance reminiscent of Ali Hazelwood with a literal rocket scientist FMC. Kinda lacked pizzazz for me, I feel like there needed to be a b-plot or something to make it more substantial.

I don’t have much to say about the book, so I’m sticking to keynotes for this review:

- I didn’t get any chemistry between the mcs
- Short, very little plot
- No depth to the story
- PG13 (I’ve read spicier YA books)

Overall this just wasn’t for me.

I received this ARC from NetGalley. This was such a cute set up and I loved the first few chapters. Unfortunately the rest of the book just didn’t do it for me. I felt like the timeline was too short to cover the relationship. I would have liked to see the characters work through some of their conflicts and differences a little more.

Lana is having the absolute worst day imaginable. She is having the type of day that makes you question all of your life decisions up until that moment. Where is she? Hiding in a broom closet in a hotel, crying her eyes out, and then a man thunders in.

Who is he? Saying Christian is a famous actor is an understatement. But … Lana has no idea who he is. What is even more surprising? After learning what upset Lana, Christian volunteers to help her.

What happened to Lana? Can things for her possibly get worse? Will Christian confess his stardom? Will Lana forgive him the white lies?

This book was cute. Lana was a fun character with amazing nerd shirts. She was a bit naive and overly trusting, but it worked for her character. Christian seemed both down to earth and totally removed from society (mainly due to his money and staff). He seemed like a genuinely good person.

I loved Winter and can’t wait for her book — it’s next! Blair was a fun side character, as were Penny and Jeff.

Overall, this was a lighthearted fun read. If that’s what you need right now, I definitely recommend it.

A short, fast-paced fun romance. Both characters are interesting and I like how both changes for each other at the end. Really enjoyed it.

I really wanted this to be just like an Ali Hazelwood "STEMinist" romance, and while there's definitely STEM in it (main character Lana is getting her PhD in aerospace engineering), I didn't get a lot of feminist vibes and I just wasn't vibing with either of the main characters. I did really like the setup - two strangers meet in a hotel supply closet - Lana because she's too scared to confront her soon-to-be-ex who is cheating on her with her best friend and Christian because he is trying to avoid the paparazzi. Lana has no idea who he is because she doesn't want TV (he's a movie star, not a TV star, but this statement is repeated many times), but they connect and he calls her a few weeks after her breakup with the cheating boyfriend and they start dating. I just didn't like either of them that much, and the numerous conflicts that were introduced into the story didn't feel very authentic to me. I was much more interested in some of the side characters, so I would definitely read more of this author because this certainly could have just been a bad fit in terms of characters.

When I read the synopsis for The Love Theorem, I was immediately taken with the whole concept. It instantly grabbed my attention! The beginning was fantastic, our leads had a most memorable meet-cute, snotty tears and all. As satisfying as that introduction was, the rest of the romance was paced rather fast, feeling like an overall loss in potential.

Lana and Christian are adorable leads! They’re both in search of something real, after Lana’s heart is broken at the cruelest of betrayals, and Christian has only faced relationships more interested in monetary gain. They may seem like polar opposites on paper, but are actually the perfect complement to one another. Their chemistry was instant and I was really intrigued from the start to see where it would take us.

As much I love the leads and want them together, their romance turns insta-love, and losing all its expected intricacies along the way. It’s hard for me to believe they were in true love with one another. It moved entirely too quick. Also, this book is marketed as one Ali Hazelwood readers will enjoy, so I expected a very open-door romance….I expected spice. It’s mostly a wholesome romance, mostly closed door. It doesn’t personally bother me, but I am not sure if that comparison is the best for future readers’ expectations.

Although I did have some hurdles to get over whilst reading, I overall had a good time with this one. I smiled, I swooned, and I was happy to see our leads find one another. It was a cute read!

I really enjoyed this book. I'm a big Camilla Isley fan. As I was reading chapter one, I felt like the book was familiar. By chapter two, I realized that's because Love Theorem is "To the Stars and Back" from Camilla's First Comes Love Series. Loved it the first and enjoyed it just as much the second time.
I especially have a soft spot for books with female scientist as the main characters! Every girl’s dreams of meeting the sexiest actor ever. Even if they don't know it! This is a nice light read. I definitely recommend it.

The meet cute in this novel is absolute perfection.

I loved how Lana is a super-smart woman (and books and cats lover) ... And Christian honestly made me swoon... I can be swept up in a Hollywood romance any day, who hasn't dreamt of meeting their celebrity crush in a broom closet? Well, maybe not a broom closet exactly but an elevator or a Beverly Hills hotel for sure. And the quiet, witty humor had me chuckle all along as I was swooning...

Highly recommended!

This is such a cute story! Lana and Christian have the sweetest meet cute and instantly start a friendship that leads to a relationship. They both offer the other a respite from their ordinary lives— Lana doesn’t know Christian is a famous actor offering him a refreshing new side to genuine interest, and Christian is kind, charming, and funny the perfect new friend to help her move on from a harsh betrayal. They both have such a genuine interest and attraction to one another, and I appreciate that Christian’s level of fame isn’t kept from Lana the whole book, and we can see the reality of dealing with so much unwanted publicity. I appreciate that Christian wants to protect Lana, and I also love and appreciate that he doesn’t try to overstep her ability to make her own decisions and always respects them, even if he doesn’t agree with them.
Overall, this is a sweet story full of love and friendship and showing how important it is to own your own story and image— we can’t always control what happens to us or out circumstances but we can chose how we react. I love that Lana and Christian, and their friends, chose to stay and show up for one another.

And our rocket scientist has to learn how to navigate the world of celebrities.
It's a cute love story with an interesting storyline.

The Love Theorem opens with the cutest meet cute. Lana is hiding in a closet after finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her with his best friend when Christian walks into the closet hiding from the paparazzi. They share an instant connection sadly those opening chapters are the best part of the book. Now this book wasn’t awful but I won’t remember what it is about in a few days. Christian seemed a little immature for being a grown man in his early thirties. Lana forgave too easily in my opinion. The ending definitely made my rating drop.

An unexpected romance buds between two people hiding in a closet - each facing their own personal hell. One is a famous actor; the other a quiet scientist. It's not the match you would expect, and there are many issues that spring up along the way because of their differing lifestyles...but it works for them. This is a clean, fast paced romance.

'The Love Theorem' has one of the most adorable meet cutes that I've ever read: they are both hiding in the closet of a hotel! Lana is crying and hiding because she found out that her boyfriend of ten years is cheating on her with her best friend! While she is in the closet, Christian comes into to hide from the paparazzi. He is an actor, and he is constantly being followed by cameras and paparazzi. Christian is shocked when he discovers that Lana doesn't know who he is. She doesn't watch TV or movies. She is a rocket scientist!

Christian feels a real connection with Lana because she likes him for him. She doesn't want him for his celebrity status or money. He worries that she won't be able to be with him, if she finds out how famous he really is. Lana and Christian go through ups and downs in the relationship, but ultimately, they find their happy ending.

I enjoyed the story, but I was looking for a little spice. If the book is being marketing as something fans of Ali Hazelwood would like, I don't think that's fair. In her books, there is a lot of spice, and this book was more closed door. Overall, this was a sweet story about an unlikely romance between a rocket scientist and Hollywood actor.
