I enjoyed this one and didn’t want to put it down. Every time I finished a chapter and had to put it away for a bit I found myself thinking of when I would be able to pick it up again. The pacing was great, the story was interesting and the characters felt like they had a lot more to them than just a shallow backstory. The relationship and way Christian and Lana interacted with one another didn’t feel forced. It was cute, romantic and not too cheesy.

I’m a sucker for a meet-cute :)

This is my first Camilla Isley book and I enjoyed it.

The Love Theorem was very funny to read. From the first page, you are sucked in to the world of Lana (who you can’t help but love) and Christian (yet another book boyfriend).

Their first meeting will remain on my mind for a long time. I felt sorry for Lana and wanted to throttle Johnathan and Summer.. You can’t help but be sucked into the world of science, academia and the razzmatazz of Hollywood.

I love Christian. His demeanor. His vulnerability. I enjoy his relationship with his staff. You can tell he is a good boss.

I love all of the side characters from Penny ( my number one) to Winter, and even Jeff. Even the cats Cengel and Boles are rubbing off on me.

I always want ‘bad people’ to get a taste of their own medicine. I would have loved for Johnathan and Summer to be ‘punished’ but I guess Lana’s getting a billionaire boyfriend was punishment enough.

I would love to read more about Penny. She is too important not to get her own story. In fact, I look forward to reading more works from this author.

This was a fun, interesting read, that I enjoyed. Christian and Lana are such interesting, engaging, relatable characters. They captured my attention from the start and held it until the end. Their romance was interesting and fun. I enjoyed many of the side characters particularly Winter, Jeff and Penny. They each added something special to the story, that I enjoyed. There were a couple of story threads that I wish we had gotten a better/different conclusion to – as I didn’t feel like they were satisfactory resolved.

The Love Theorem is a rerelease of Camilla Isley’s To the Stars and Back. Astrophysicist and PhD candidate Lana Voynich has just discovered that her boyfriend of 10 years and one of her best friends since early childhood have been cheating behind her back. This discovery has sent Lana into a tailspin and to be sure she doesn’t encounter the cheating pair, she finds herself in the back of a janitor’s closet in their clandestine and posh hotel.
Crying her eyes out, Lana is startled when a tall man joins her in the closet, apparently doing some hiding out of his own. The tall, handsome blonde with the British accent sits on the hard floor and they discuss their problems. When Lana doesn’t recognize him or his name it’s a dream come true. Finally someone who isn’t trying to suck up to the man repeatedly named sexiest man alive and a top grosser at the box office!
Christian Slade, said sexiest man, makes great efforts to see Lana without her learning who he really is. He goes so far as buying a Tesla to impress the environmentally conscientious scientist and takes her on out of the way dates so he won’t be recognized. But when he is recognized it throws Lana into a world she never imagined.
This is a very funny story with an unimaginable meet cute and, perhaps, an even more unexpected conclusion. I very much enjoyed this story and do recommend it!

This is about a 3.5 read for me. It is fast-paced, and separately, Lana and Christian are cute. Together, the dynamic is hard to fall for. It feels like Lana loses a lot of herself and her world to make her mesh with the high profile life of Christian. And that makes this zing a little less than other books with female scientists as the lead romantic part. It's a cute romance. I just spent more time struggling to fall into the sweet cute glow romance reads can give.

I flew through this book in less than a day, I couldn't put it down. It was light, happy, romantic and made me laugh out loud numerous times.

Lana was a strong clever insightful character and Christian was caring, emotionally scared and romantic. Together they made a great gin and tonic. They were bubbly, fruity and provided a lovely fizz!

I highly recommend this to all those rom com lovers out there!

My Opinion

I studied maths and chemistry at university so I always enjoy reading books about women in STEM. Having previously read a few books by Camilla Isley this was a must read for me. From the beginning this book had me hooked, I started reading it late one night and had to force myself to put it down - I was up early the next morning to get in a few more chapters.

For me, this was quite a fun book to read. This is a relatively short book so it was a nice, quick read - just great for sneaking onto your want to read list. I really enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Christian and Lana. I was thrilled when I saw that this was part of a series, I cannot wait to see what Camilla has planned for the next book.

I enjoyed this book right from the first page. I was thrown immediately into the story, and very quickly liked Lana. It took me a little longer to warm up to Christian tho, but at the end he is a good guy. It was delightful watching the relationship between the two develop. I really feel that they might have what it takes to have a long term relationship, if they keep communicating. The story reminds us that love doesn't always have to be complicated to make an impact. Instead, it thrives on a captivating plotline, memorable characters, and conflicts that resonate with real-life experiences. It is this winning combination that I believe will propel this book to become a bestseller. In conclusion, this was honestly one of the most fun romances I’ve read recently. I got emotionally invested very quickly, and gobbled the whole book down in one evening. It was simply a joyful read. I’ll definitely be seeking out more books by Camilla Isley.

The closet is a popular place to be in. Christan Slade, a movie star is trying to escape the paparazzi and ends up hiding in a closet.

He is instantly intrigued by her, she has no idea who he is and looks very upset. He offers to help her, even getting his assistant to buy him Tesla in half an hour, so he looked like he cares for the environment.

The more they get to know each other the more they fall for each other, but lies have a way of catching up with a person.

I love reading STEM romance, it's one of my favourite genres. I like reading Lana's and Christopher's story. cute, romantic and funny. I only wish it had a bit more depth.

This book is similar to Ali Hazelwood with a strong female representation in STEM. Lana is fighting to draw more women into science fields and also trying to save the planet by reducing her carbon footprint. I loved how hard Christian had to work to impress her since she wasn't interested in his money and a few of his attempts had me laughing out loud!

STEM women is one of my favorite theme for books. And this one hit the right notes for me!

I started eyeing Isley's book since I read Love Quest. Her concept for story, also her writing-style is suited me. That's why I was bit late to know this book. And, oh I love this book!

Lana is an aerospace engineer who took PhD and writing disertation about thermochemical imaging reaction in rocket. One day, she had to face the truth that her boyfriend cheating with her best friend in hotel. When she hid in the cleaning supplies room, she accidentaly met Christian, a famous actor who get label as "Sexiest Man Alive" in magazine. Christian was hiding from paparazi, that's why he end in that room too.

From their brief introduction, they intend to know each other further. And the story goes....

Rather than rom-com, it's more cute romance for me, because their character is polar opposite. I mean, Christian is a famous and humble actor, then Lana is super intelligent, a bit naive and sometimes "tsundere". It's cute to see Christian fall for Lana and try to chase her, even he have to act as "environmentalist" too.

I love Christian's assistant sarcasm, especially when Christian asked her to buy him new car.

For me, The Love Theorem is better than Love Quest (it's kind of series, but you could read them stand alond). Because in this book, I got few science facts too!

Eventhough this book is not perfect and has flaws in it plot, I love this book so much!

This story begin with aerospace engineer Lana hiding in a posh hotel broom closet because her whole day has gone wrong and she thinks that her life is a mess!. Whilst Lana contemplates all her failures the broom closet door opens and in rushes Christian with his dashing good looks and sexy British accent, but what Lana doesn’t know is that he’s a HUGE Hollywood star and Christian decides he loves that she doesn’t know who he is and wants to keep it a secret.

This was just SO CUTE, I fell in love with the character’s and the story. I wanted Lana and Christian to work so much because they’re the perfect match but I was worried about Lana’s reaction when she found out who Christian really was.

I was engrossed reading as the sweet relationship progressed and had its ups and downs and then wow that epilogue was just perfect, it was sublime.

It reads like a RomCom that you watch every year because it’s your favourite film and it gives you all of the feels year after year.

I was so happy to find out that this is going to be a four book series with the others following soon, Camilla is my new auto-buy author!.

Read this after reading its sequel Love Quest where I discovered this author for the first time. This was an easy and adorable read. I look forward to reading the 3rd in this friend trio.

For fans of Ali Hazelwood!

In the vein of the Love Hypothesis, the FMC is a scientist and PhD student, which I absolutely loved, since STEM is underrepresented in romance!

This was very reminiscent of the Disney channel movie Starstruck - and was a really fun take on celebrity romance! I really enjoyed the character development, although it was a touch too insta-lovey for my taste.

Still loved it and will definitely pick up more from this new to me author!

This was such a pleasant closed door romance read!

For a short romance novel sitting at 260 ish pages with quick pacing, Women in STEM representation and the famous/non-famous trope, this novel gets a 4 star rating from me. Our FMC having an adorable meet-cute with our MMC in a utility closet at a hotel, started this novel on a high note. Who wouldn't want to meet the Sexiest Man Alive in a closet?

But in all seriousness, as a women in STEM myself, the representation was strong and on-point. Having a literal rocket scientist, Lana, as our girl of interest of a 135 Million Follower actor in Hollywood, it sat a little on the fan fiction side of romance, but still very light-hearted and enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this read.

This was super cute! My first book by this author. I’m a fan of women in STEM romances and this was a nice twist on that & the “Holley wood star” trope.

A new addition to the STEMinist rom-com subgenre, I had high hopes for this book Yet, Isley’s lack of character development and flat supporting characters didn’t leave me feeling satisfied after reading The Love Theorem.

Now, the plot was very easy to get into. After discovering her long-term boyfriend is cheating on her with best friend, Lana ends up hiding in a broom closet. At the same time, Christian hides out from the paparazzi in the same broom closet and runs into Lana. With their growing feelings for each other, Christian wonders how Lana can fit into his celebrity life.

You would think for a great meet-cute that the book will keep up the momentum? I could deal with the constant switching of POVs during the same scene (even if it was hard to adjust to at first) if it means that However, it goes downhill from there.

I had mixed feelings about Lana as a main character. She seems nice and I did like her in the beginning. But my complaint with Lana is that there’s isn’t really any character development for her. While we get to see Christian (who was my favorite character in the book) grow and develop throughout the book, Lana doesn’t get that growth. She didn’t have any real flaws and seemed “too perfect”. Add that to Lana having contradictory character traits throughout the book, especially in her relationship with Christian, it left me feeling annoyed with Lana.

As for the other characters, they mainly serve as cardboard cutouts. There’s no depth to them nor do you get to see beyond superficial personality types. While I get that Isley has the book’s focus on Lana and Christian, it would have been nice to see a little more depth to the supporting characters. This is especially the case for the characters who are the closest to the MCs and appear throughout the book.

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate the book and there were things that I liked about The Love Theorem. Isley does a great job with writing a cute rom-com and is good for fans of Ali Hazelwood that want a closed door romance. I just think that this book wasn’t exactly for me and could stand for some more editing.

I really liked the simplicity of this book. Everything was straightforward, and I liked that there was no miscommunication. It was just a typical popular guy who fell for a private girl who didn't even know he existed. I also liked the science-y stuff even though I didn't understand it😂😂

If you're a fan of celebrity romance, this book is for you. It was easy, simple, and fun to read

Lana is a rocket scientist who discovers her boyfriend of many years has been getting it on with her best friend. She is hiding in a broom closet to avoid discovery by that pair when into the closet comes Christian, famous movie star hiding from the paparazzi. It soon becomes apparent Lana has no idea who Christian is and soon they are more at ease with each. Not much longer before Christian is buying a Tesla to impress the lady and whisks her away.

This was an enjoyable read where the worlds of celebrity and slightly more obscure STEM careers intersect. The romance and attraction are there but it's definitely not the smoothest of rides, especially when Lana finds herself the target of paparazzi herself. It all works out, though, even though it seems a bit more neatly than I'd expect it to.

I love a good meet cute with an insta-love H. Christian was a dream book boyfriend. He appreciated her intellect. Lana's 10-year relationship just ended, and she lost her best friend.
