Another fantastic addition to the acclaimed Rebel Girls series, this book is packed with vibrant photographs and motivational words. The current episode profiles 25 notable and lesser-known LGBTQ+ athletes, artists, activists, and more. Each narrative has just two pages, one of which is devoted to an inspiring third-person account and the other to a distinctive portrait created by one of a small number of really gifted painters. Because of this, educational institutions and libraries may choose a work that provides a little more hard evidence. However, it is a great resource for personal libraries that desire an introduction to or overview of some noteworthy LGBTQ+ people. The narratives are interesting, straightforward, and filled to the brim with positive self-talk. Women and nonbinary people are represented in this wonderful book, which is sure to appeal to trans and nonbinary readers. Term definitions, a glossary, and a two-page spread allowing the reader to share their own tale and self-portrait are included as backmatter. An impressive tale collection that can stand tall on its own. Ideal for anybody above the age of eight.

This was my first book from the Rebel Girls series - I thought I had read one, but in retrospect turns out I was thinking of Women in Science picture book. It was short and lovely and a nice primer into some of the stories before Pride Month: in an era where things are so heavily leaning towards annual rainbow capitalism fest, reconnecting with the actual people's stories or history-making stories feels good. It's a good selection of women, non-binary and/or queer trailblazers, and the illustrations are simply glorious. If it becomes one more book that helps children recognize themselves in one of those, or just realize there is more than one way to be, that will already be a very good reason to have this be out there.

I found this book very comforting. If anyone struggles to find justice, friends, or acceptance, this book is a very good companion.

25 inspiring tales to celebrate pride, talk about being yourself, accepting who you are, and make sure that you're not in this alone. Never alone. The fight might be long and hard, but preserve bcs the queer community got your back.

I love how this book simplified the terms and definitions, e.g. non-binary, gay, or lesbian, as not to make the girls confuse. At the end of the book, you can also find the difference between gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression.

I like how diverse the occupations and backgrounds shown in this book. It's effectiy representing the idea of queer from any field and any part of the world. An inspiring enjoyable read.

The books from the Rebel Girls series are always an absolute delight for my daughters and I. We look forward to every new book that’s released, and this might be a new favorite for us. Having the opportunity to share diverse representations with my kids early on has been so meaningful. So thankful for the opportunity to read and review this - thanks NetGalley!

Why did I decide to turn the pages? It seemed like a perfect read to kick off Pride Month.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Will some find this objectionable? I'm sure they will. So read it first, and decide whether and when you want to read it with your kids. I'm a big believer in read what you want, don't read what you don't want to, and let everybody decide that for themselves.

This book tells the stories of 25 members of the LGBTQIA+ community. It contained quick snapshots, but where this book really shines is the diversity in who is covered. Age range, ethnicity, accomplishments, background, etc.

I tend to like deeper dives, but I think this book would be very impactful for teens of this community to see the rich vibrant lives they can lead and the diversity of options open to them.

This installation of the Rebel Girls series does not disappoint! Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is a beautiful collection featuring a variety of people who have made their mark in many fields. As in other books in the series, there is a beautiful illustration of each person with an inspiring brief biography about their life and contributions. Children and adults will love this and be so inspired!

What a fabulous little book that brings together women and non-binary individuals and celebrates their fierceness, their courage, their bravery, and their strength. These individuals are so admirable and truly, if more people had the love and courage that these people did, this world would be a better place. This is another great entry into this series. It shows a nice range of individuals within these pages and provides short and interesting bios. The illustrations are also great. I highly recommend this book for the collections of young readers.

There has not been a Rebel Girls book that I haven’t loved yet. The artwork and vibrancy. So much life pulls the reader in. This book was no exception. Phenomenal writing and ease of comprehension for younger readers as well. A perfect read!

I say it a lot, but I'm a big fan of the 25-story collections from Rebel Girls, as it lets readers get really into a specific topic, while still leaving lots of room for future reading on either the individuals profiled or some of the themes mentioned. In the Pride collection specifically, I thought the editors did a great job as always, selecting a good assortment of high-profile and lesser-known people to feature, for a well-rounded mix. I think Rebel Girls strikes a good balance of the stories being relatable (where readers could imagine themselves represented in the short form stories), aspirational (you can do big things too!) and inspirational (there were a lot of challenges along the way, and we honor that.) Readers who are interested in sports, music, science, and many more fields will be able to read about just a small introductory list of LGBTQ+ change=makers who have been influential in recent years and throughout history, so check it out!

This is a sweet, easy read which highlights the lives and achievements of diverse queer-identifying women and non-binary people who have become known for their accomplishments in their fields, including sport, art, science, media and activism. Each individual profiled is a quick, stand-alone 'chapter' with an illustration and quote. The profiles are age-appropriate at at-level for independent younger readers, and I think it is so empowering and affirming for young people to have such a joyful book about successful people who look and identify like they do. Will definitely be buying a copy for my library and recommending my colleagues do the same.

Another great addition to the #RebelGirls series. I love the positivity that oozes from this beautifully illustrated and informative text. Words have power and this book speaks volumes.

Released just in time for Pride month, another fab book from the Rebel Girls.

I love the Rebel Girls series and this one focuses on 25 women and non-binary artists, athletes, writers and more who all fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.

Just like other books in the Rebel Girls series, the book packs 25 short, easy to read and interesting stories. The book is colourful and bright with lots of great illustrations and portraits of the people it features, plus a host of inspiring quotes and a whole lot of self-love.

So many important themes that are very 'of the moment' and I love the activities at the end which are inspired by the stories the books tells and invites the reader to reflect on what they read.

I am a huge fan of these books and this latest one does not disappoint!

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls is a series of two children's books, aimed at ages six and up. Both were funded through the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, and broke site records for fundraising for literature publication.

I am always delighted to get the invitations for Rebel Girls ARCs and the opportunity to share these stories with my nibling.

This collection focuses entirely on 25 women and nonbinary individuals who all fall under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella and their amazing stories. From athletes to writers, from activists to artists, these individuals have made huge contributions to their fields, while also being out and proud about their authentic selves.

As in every previous Rebel Girls collection, the stories are short, easy to read, informative, and engaging. And every story is paired with a brightly colored, gorgeous portrait of the person being highlighted. The variety in art styles is just as varied as the subject matters represented, and I am always in awe of the beautiful artwork.

At the end of the book is a collection of activities, inviting further discussion and thought and creativity. The Fly Your Flag activity was a particular hit in our household.

In this time where so many places are pushing back against LGBTQIA+ people, it fills me with hope to see so many stories of people living their lives the best they can, and as honestly as they can, and then to be able to think about all the stories that I don't know. And it's inspiring me to start looking for a local organization that I can volunteer with.

With one page dedicated to an empowering third-person anecdote and the other a unique portrait done by a handful of immensely talented artists, each story doesn't have enough information to delve deeper into any of the individuals. For this reason, libraries and schools might gravitate to something with a bit more facts and information. Nevertheless, it's an exceptional resource for home libraries that want a starting point or introduction to some notable LGBTQ+ individuals. The stories are engaging, easy to read, and overflowing with self-love. Trans and nonbinary readers will be happy to know this delightful collection includes women and nonbinary individuals. The back matter consists of activities directly inspired by the stories, relevant terms, and a 2-page spread for the reader's own story and self-portrait. A prideful and powerful story collection worthy of space on the shelf. Perfect for ages eight and up.

This book is amazing! It teaches the story of 25 LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people who fought for queer rights.
It focuses on many important themes, such as discrimination, coming out, feminism and the importance of being yourself.
I really enjoyed how hopeful the narration was, showing that the more we fight for LGBT+ rights, the more chance we have at building a better future! The stories are inspiring and it makes me think that we might get a chance at a better life!
It's a very informative and fun book to share with children and adults! Everyone deserves representation and it's time we stop saying that LGBT+ people should not be represented in kids media!
I particularly enjoyed the references to the Stonewall Riots. This is one of the most important moments in LGBT+ history and it's important that we remeber that withput black trans women like Marsha P. Johnson, we would've never gotten to where we are today!

We LOVE all the Rebel girl books! They are so informative and such a wonderful thing to share with kids. I've read this one with my children and it lead to wonderful discussions and questions, and we learned a ton! Some of these awesome pride figures I wasn't aware of myself. It is beautifully illustrated throughout and includes some information in the back of celebrating your own pride and talks about supporting organizations. The stories are fast reads, so they are perfect before bed. It is an important and powerful book that leaves you feeling inspired and hopeful.

I love how they always open up a dialogue, allowing curiosity and understanding to blossom. It is important to our household to uplift women and those in the LGBTQIA+ community, and this is such a great way to share that. Each of the Rebel Girls books are worth reading and I am so happy with how the Pride one was done! We loved it and plan on gifting it!
