Thank you Netgalley, Dreamscape media and Kiersten Modglin for the audio ARC of the book.

Wow this one was SO addictive, a super quick listen and utterly gripping.

The plot was just wild and it made me dislike both main characters which made this even better. The ending was just a crazy revalation and heart breaking at the same time.

Highly recommend this super quick read. The narrators were amazing and the pace was so fast that anyone will absolutely fly through this book!

I always love going into a K Mod book because I know things aren't going to be as expected. The story starts out with Spencer holding a woman down in the family's basement, warning his wife not to go down there. But Andi doesn't listen. And what she finds out piece by piece, will leave you gobsmacked. There were so many twists in this book - I loved it!

I finished this in one afternoon because I could not put it down and it was a super quick read.

This book is so deranged (in an entertaining way), but some how, I totally felt for the wife and all the decisions she made through the whole process.

I just love Kiersten’s writing style even when I struggle with the difficult topics she writes about. I will definitely be reading her next book.

Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Don't Go Down There by Kiersten Modglin is a fast paced domestic thriller that grips you from the first page! It's pretty short and enjoyable! The suspense was building up till the very end! I really enjoyed it and the twist was unexpected. Nice short book to maybe take on a plane or a vacation with you! It was fun!

Thank you Dreamscape media for the audio book. I always enjoy Kiersten Modglin's thriller. This one was no different. It felt like a psychological and survival thriller from different perspectives. I felt the ending came a little too quickly, the first twist I couldn't figure out but the second one I guessed correctly..yay!

When Andi comes home after work she hears a noise in the basement. ‘Don’t go down there’ her husband Spencer says, and this is where the terrifying tale begins.

An excellent and tense building thriller, with a twist in the tail. I found it very thought provoking, how much do you trust your partner and what would you allow to happen in your own home? Would you allow love to muddy the waters of your own moral fortitude?

I really enjoyed this short book and would definitely read more from Kiersten Modglin.

The main narrator was excellent and conveyed the character of Andi very convincingly.

Spencer Edwards has a beautiful wife, two perfect children, and a sinister secret locked in his basement...
When Andi Edwards discovers her husband isn't where he's supposed to be and isn't answering her calls or texts, a flurry of scenarios races through her mind.
Is he hurt?
Is he cheating?
Is he dead?

Ooof! Another winner from the queen of twists! Not sure where this was going, but found out soon enough, and WOW! I read this in a few hours, could not put it down. If you want a fast paced thriller, grab this.

If you struggle with finding time for long books, but still love to read, this is the perfect book for you. This was such a fast read, but still well-written with a great, twisty plot, and an ending that's like a frying pan to the head with no warning. I really enjoyed this one and definitely cheered on a certain controversial and deadly decision. Now off to try to get my hands on more of Kiersten's books....

This is my first time reading a Kiersten Modglin book. I the story was rather predictable, yet it also seemed incomplete. I hope for better in the future.

I love KMod so much! I don’t know how she manages to come up with these twists. But she is a genius. This book seemed pretty straight forward, which of course it wasn’t. So I was going nuts trying to figure out where the twist was coming from and despite my number one rule when reading KMod books of don’t trust anyone, especially the men, I was still shocked.

This was a really quick read and I enjoyed the narrators a lot. I can’t wait to dive into the next KMod book as I work my way through her backlist.

Thank you, NetGalley and publisher for this copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'll start out with the things that I enjoyed;
- It's a nice quick read that starts with momentum and keeps going.
- Overall the story-line is pretty good.
- The characters go through all of the emotions you want in a thriller.

My cons:
- I didn't quite enjoy the lack of character development or the two main characters themselves.
- I listened to the audio version and while I don't normally include the narrator in my reviews I need to for this one.
It sounded to me like the narrator was recording this on old headphones hooked up to a phone. The audio quality was severely lacking, and for me that really diminished my enjoyment of the book.

I'd say if you want a quick mindless read that you can get through in record time, this is the book for you.

Not my favorite Kiersten Modglin book. The storyline was predictable, and the characters didn't have any depth.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Kiersten Modglin fan and have been since reading The Liars Wife years ago. While I love her stories for their short and to the point storyline, Don't Go Down There gave me a feeling like a major chunk was edited out - or skipped over completely, especially in the second half. There also wasn't as much character development as I would have liked. That being said, it still kept my attention and was a fun quick thriller that I went through in just a few hours and the plot twists were good. 3.5/5

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fast and furious listen! Had me run through a tumult of emotions from anger to sympathy and disgust. The story is simple enough. An argument and a misstep, slowly everything going wrong. How much would you sacrifice for your husband and family? Andi soon is faced with this question when her husband challenges her faithfulness.
No spoilers , but you have to experience this twisty little listen for yourself. Modglin doesn’t disappoint and stays true to her style. Narrator did a great job sucking me into the book. Completely unputdownable!

This review is of the audiobook which is just over four and a half hours in length. Relatively short with a fast-paced plot, this novel had the makings of a good thriller. Downsides of such a short book being little to no character development and unlikeable protagonists.

The reader is immediately brought into an alarming situation. Andi comes home early to find her husband is keeping secrets. She runs through a gamut of conclusions…is he having an affair, injured, dead. The truth is so much worse. Spencer isn’t keeping those typical secrets; or maybe he is, along with a very alive, injured, and handcuffed woman in their basement.

This is where the story gets muddled. Regrettably, Andi cannot think for herself; and not just the “stand by your man” way that is set in the novel. Between Spencer and Andi there is not enough prudence to carry out what they decide to do. How to kill a person and get rid of a body becomes the name of the game, but of course they bumble every part of it. Finally, Andi seems to get the sense you would expect from a woman, to release their captive. This is when the massive pretzel twisty turns take off.

The premise was good, the book was short, but the overall effect was too pedestrian. I found the final twist physically revolting and unnecessary. The narrators did a good job, but at times their drop in pitch to a whisper made it difficult to find an appropriate level to listen at.

Oh I love this author! Kiersten always delivers stories that are short and fast-paced with such an impact.
I wanted to strangle the man for cheating so many times.
But nothing, I mean nothing prepared for the ending!!

This book was a quick thriller - which isn’t something you normally see! It was around 4 1/2 hours in the audiobook version.

Andi walks in on her husband Spencer doing something unthinkable and she is put in a position where she can either do the right thing or stick by her husband. And you can only guess which one she does.

While this book was frustrating because almost every single character is a terrible person, it still makes for an entertaining book! I didn’t agree with most of the decisions made by these characters, but hey: it’s not my life.

I've never read anything by Kiersten Modglin and I'm glad I had the opportunity. I really enjoyed the book! I found the book really easy to stay focused on and it had me hooked right from the beginning. The plot was fast paced and there were some really great twists. I found the book entertaining throughout and I was intrigued by the situation in the basement, but I couldn't help but wonder about Andi's actions when she first saw what was down there. I had imagined where the ending was going but boy was I wrong! I did find that book seemed to end too fast, I wanted more.

The audiobook was narrated by Natalie Naudus, Scott Brick and Jesse Vilinsky. I found the narration fantastic! I found it easy to define the characters and I found that the voices fit the characters. I've listened to some of Scott Brick's books before and I always find him great to listen to. The pace of the audiobook was perfect and the flow was great, I found it really easy to follow the story.

I recommend this book

I love short, fast-paced domestic thrillers littered with amazing twists and that’s exactly what I get when I read Kiersten Modglin! In this case, I listened to the audiobook and I flew through it. Make sure you set aside enough time to finish the book in one sitting because you won’t want to put it down until you reveal every last twist!

Thanks to NetGalley for providing this gifted audiobook. All opinions are my own.

There is no dillydallying in this tense domestic drama. It gets right down to business…the way I love it! I thought I had this story figured out pretty quickly. I should know better. Even after all the thrillers she’s written, KMod manages to devise unimaginable and incredible twists that will blow you away. Her domestic thrillers are first-rate!

Andi and Spencer have been married for years and have two children. If you asked Andi to describe her husband, she would tell you he is kind, loving, and trustworthy. That’s before she comes home to find an injured woman tied up in their basement. And Spencer insists killing her is the only solution. Is Spencer the monster he appears to be or is there another explanation?

Don’t miss this one. It’s a doozy!

Book got right into it (good thing). I like this author. But i was not a fan of how short it was and how everything just buttoned up nicely. Narrator was good. Will keep reading Kiersten's books.

Thanks NetGalley for this arc.
