I would have loved to read this book. I usually only do audio while traveling but since i chose this i began it. Amazing plot and intense action throughout. I did not however enjoy the female reader speaking as her husband off and on throughout a few chapters. It made me feel as of a person was play acting while reading for a child.
All in all this was a great book but difficult to form a picture of the characters in the beginning.

Andi is quite happy with her life, her husband, and their comfortable routine. But when she gets a notification saying her husband is unexpectedly at home and he won’t return her calls or texts, she can’t help but fear the worst. Or so she thought. What she finds at home is even worse than she could have imagined, and she has to make a choice she never thought she would face.
This is a short mystery/thriller read that was fine overall. But because it was so short, it was lacking some oomph. There wasn’t much character development, which made it difficult to be invested in any of the characters. It also made it difficult to understand why Andi and Spencer made the choices they did (especially Andi), which makes for a somewhat frustrating read. It was told from the dual POV of both Andi and Spencer, which helped to flesh out the story a bit more.
The ending was not good. The resolution was so unbelievable that it made me shake my head while reading it. Then the last chapter was a flashback that 1. Repeated information we already knew from a slightly different perspective, 2. Didn’t resolve much of anything, and 3. Didn’t help me to care about the characters. So what did it add?
This is a fine, quick read if you don’t give it too much thought and are looking for an afternoon of easy entertainment. My thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for allowing me to read this work. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

First of all I enjoyed this book but in the same time, this was the most predictable thriller I’ve ever read.
It was fast paced and interesting, an easy, fun read but I don’t think I’m going to remember anything from it after a few days, or hours…
The audiobook experience was brilliant though and would recommend listening it, if you’re interested to pick this book up. Honestly other than it was predictable and not quite memorable I didn’t have any other complaints towards this book.
Give it a read if you want a fast paced, interesting thriller book.
Thank you to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for providing an AudioARC of this title in exchange for my honest review

3.5★ Another super bingy read, coming in at just over 5 hours on audio. It had a lot of the usual KMod vibes, but just didn’t keep my attention the same way her previous books have. The pacing felt a bit uneven and the overall story felt like one she’s done before. That said, if you are in need of a good, quick popcorn thriller, I’d say to give this a try.

Don't Go Down There by Kiersten Modglin Audio version ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I considered DNF this one. it was a long stretch of not much going on, not true, but it was a struggle to listen to to. My husband and I are traveling cross country in a car. the volume goes up and down, high when characters are talking, but a lot lower while they are thinking. I had to constantly turn the volume up and down. It also felt like they were trying to make it exciting and cause anticipation, it felt forced at first, not sure if it was that way in the end or not, i was to sucked into the story. At 75% I was still not overly interested in the story, but we perervered. It picked up and was a great twist that neither of us saw coming, I LOVE it when an author can do that. It was a quick listen for our roadtrip. Not sure Hubby has ever listened to a book before, he enjoyed the twist. Thanks Netgalley and Dreamscape for the opportunity to listen to this one. I’m a huge fan of Kiersten Modglin and have listened to quite a few of her books over the past year. This one was good but it wasn’t as good as some others I’ve recently read. The narrators held my interest and kept me intrigued.

This is my twentieth author, Kiersten Modglin. Needless to say I am a fan.
Spencer and Andi Edwards have been a loving couple for ten years, they have two perfect children – Ava and James but Spence has a secret.
One Friday Andi calls her husband and notices on the phone tracker that he is home. She is puzzles why he would be home on Friday afternoon. He is the assistant for an agent who work with many beautiful models. So the first thing that she fears is perhaps he is with one of them; although he has never given her reason to worry about him cheating on her. Since he doesn’t answer her calls or texts, she rushes home with many things race through her mind: Is he hurt? Has he been kidnapped? Is he dead?
After searching room by room, she hears something in the basement and as she goes to open the door, he says: “Don’t go down there”.
The basement has never been a place she wanted to go - it is only used for storage but she wants to know why she is not to go there. When he tells her ~ both their lives have been turned upside down!
Most of this story was a domestic thriller. However I know to expect a psychological thriller with twists and turns from K-Mod! Yep she did not disappoint.
Even though I know to expected the twists, I typically am ALWAYS surprised by them!!!
This story was a quick unputdownable great read~!
BTW: The narrators were all great in performing the characters!
Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for granting me this early audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for May 4, 2023.

Nope. It's ok. I didn't need any build up leading to what her husband did. AT ALL! This book hit the ground running and didn't look back and let me tell you that I'm here for it!
Andi's head spirals after she gets home early, notices her husband (Spencer) is home but things aren't right AND he's not answering his phone or texting her back. She thinks the absolute worst until he comes into the house from the garage, dirty and disheveled and proceeds to tell her "don't go down there..." (aka, the basement).
Ummm...excuse me? What would you do if you came home and you were told to not go into the basement? Ok, me too. Don't tell me what to do! What are you hiding?
Andi is shocked to learn the truth, at least...his version of the truth. And what's down in the basement holds the key to what is really going on. Andi is shocked and appalled but is also determined to not let this ruin her marriage...but more secrets come out and you guys I was on a RIDE as I tried to come up with my own conclusions! And then THE ENDING out of left field!
Please read it and enjoy it as much as I did!
Thank you Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC of this thriller!
Overall, I rate it 4.5/5.

This book is an instant 🪝!!! I love that it was short but compact with everything exciting. Soooo good! Definitely pick this up if you need a quick thriller to suck you in.

This author always delivers on the wtf. Every time I think I know how a book is going there’s a what the twist. This book definitely had that in spades.

Many thanks to Dreamscape media and Netgalley for the advanced audio version of this book in exchange for my honest review. See I said I would give Kiersten Modglin another go. Overall this book was very good I read it in one sitting. I could not stand the wife as a character… to not spoil anything “ummm no” no man is worth any of that. The end was great and a sweet lil twist and turn which made the whole book worth it. 3 solid stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ you will not regret reading this one because it short enough and got to the point very quickly no slow burn here it was a wam bam 💥

Wow! What happens when your wife discovers your dirty little secret? Will she help or turn you in? This book answers all of those questions and more and keeps your head spinning with all the twists. Read asap!

😱 Kiersten Modglin's twist surprises me again!
High school teacher Andi Edwards and her talent agent husband Spencer appear to have a perfect family life until the day Andi discovers his sinister secret when she found him at their Nashville home and not at work.
Don't Go Down There is rather short, under 200 pages or 4H 32M so I won't go into any details. Best you go in blind and enjoy this on edge of the seat domestic thriller. The audiobook is very good with Natalie Naudus, Scott Brick, and Jesse Vilinsky.
I predicted one of the outcomes but the final reveal of Don't Go Down There makes me want to go back and listen again. I don't know how I didn't see it! Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for an entertaining fast-paced popcorn thriller.🤩🍿

Don't Go Down There by Kiersten Modglin was just okay to me as I knew at least one of the twists almost immediately. However, the last 5-10 percent shocked me as only Kiersten can, making me more invested.
Natalie Naudus and Jesse Vilinsky were great narrators. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives; however, Scott Brick as Spencer seemed to drag. Maybe if it was only Natalie and Jesse I would have rated it higher, as I was much more interested when hearing from them.
Overall, I rate Don't Go Down There 4 stars. It was a short and fast read, but there were parts that made it seem longer. I feel like more could have been explored to have readers more invested throughout.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ALC.

3.5 stars
Andi and Spencer Edwards have two kids and a perfect life. Or maybe not. Andi comes home early and finds Spencer acting weird. He puts her in a difficult position...ok, not a difficult position in my opinion, and she choose wrong.
Excellent narration by Natalie Naudus, Scott Brick, and Jesse Vilinsky. Hands down Scott Brick is my favorite male narrator but it was funny to listen to him not doing an action/adventure book.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.
Story: 🌟🌟🌟
Narration: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Overall: 🌟🌟🌟
Don’t Go Down There is a fast-paced thriller surrounding one huge event - Andi has to figure out what her husband is hiding in their basement. From there, things spiral more and more out of control.
I enjoyed how quick and short this read was. Modglin gets right to the action and never lets up. The characters weren’t fleshed out, but I had fun and was entertained.
The narration was top notch. Natalie Naudus, Jesse Vilinsky, and Scott Brick are three of my favorites and really elevated the story.

When Andi returns home from work early after getting a bad feeling, what she finds is so much worse than she ever imagined. Sucked into her husband's sinister secret, Andi is forced to decide whether she wants to turn him in.... or help him with the cover up and risk their kids losing both parents if they're caught.
I loved how quickly this book went from an innocuous to insane immediately. Andi comes home from work early and walks into her worst nightmare. Simultaneously trying to figure out what to do next and wondering how she got here, Andi struggles hard with her new reality.
I loved this one. I couldn't pause it, I had to know what happened. Both plot twists were surprising and the whole thing was just a really good quick read!

Andi comes home from work early one day to find her husband, not at work but at home. Is he having an affair? Does she catch him with another woman? Well.....you know when hubby says, "Don't go down into the cellar", there are things worse than having an affair. KMod's fans will find much to enjoy here

This domestic thriller by Kiersten Modglin was a fun, fast paced story, with shocking twists and turns, that wouldn't allow me to put it down. 4.5⭐rounded down
Andi comes home early and is looking through the house for her husband. She knows that he is here as his car is home, but room after room she searches and isn't able to find him anywhere. Until he comes up from the basement. He is surprised to see her, as she him, looking all disheveled and uneasy. Spencer knows he screwed up and tells her, "Don't go down there". Wait, what? What does Spencer have down there that she can't see? What exactly is he doing? Will Andi accept comply with his wishes? Or will she have no choice but to go into the basement to see what it is that her husband is so obviously hiding? I could totally relate to Andi's character and occasionally found myself chuckling about her decisions. This book will grip you from the start, and make you want to set everything else aside until you finish.
I listened to this as an audiobook, which was narrated by Natalie Naudus, Scott Brick, and Jesse Vilinsky. I haven't listened to an audiobook with multiple narrators before, and while I often thought I would enjoy it if a book had a male and female narrator. But it is almost pointless when the book has multiple POV's, because each point of view has the narrator speaking for each character. So again the male or female is speaking his own voice as well as the other character's. While I thought all three narrators did a wonderful job, I think multiple narrators would work better if each narrator spoke for their character.

Andi comes home because she can't get in touch with her husband. She's not sure if she should be worried that something bad happened to him, or if he is up to no good. She's not sure which would be worse, catching him cheating or finding him hurt.
I just love a domestic thriller with a ton of twists and this book did not disappoint! Short, fast paced, and an ending that left my jaw dropped. I couldn't ask for more in a book!
I did the audio version and I loved all 3 nararators. Absolutely recommend#
