This is the final book in the Sheets trilogy and I'm so sad that this story is over! However this volume was fantastic! In this book we are mostly focusing on Wendell and figuring out why he died. But his memories are fuzzy since it was so long ago. Can the girls come together and figure out this mystery?

If Marjorie becomes friends with ELIZA’s bullies, where does ELIZA fit in?
How did Wendell die? Who is the witch? What does the future hold?

All these questions are answered in this fantastic series finale. This is a brilliant easily accessible graphic novel about friendship loss and hopes for the future.

Many thanks to #NetGalley For The Opportunity To Read This Book Ahead Of Publication In Exchange For an Honest review

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to Netgalley and Brenna Thummler for the honor of reading this book! The series concludes with a rich and emotionally charged finale that delves deeper into the themes of friendship, grief, and healing. I found great pleasure in witnessing Marjorie's ability to balance her commitments to both the living and the deceased, Eliza's realization that compromise is an integral part of any relationship, and Wendell's discovery of the truth behind his own story. Thummler's growth as a storyteller is evident throughout the trilogy, culminating in this quiet yet stunning volume, which is my personal favorite of the three. The artwork is exceptional, with color panels and page design that are truly next level.

*I’m not crying, you’re crying*

Final rating is 4.5 stars rounded up.

This was a fantastic wrap to the Sheets trilogy. As we’ve gotten to know Wendell over the course of the series, it felt so satisfying to have him discover his past and bring resolve to his own story. As with the first two books in the series, it is at times difficult to relive the pain of being a junior high kiddo, and Marjorie has had a particularly rough go of things. For her too, I think the series wrapped up well and left me feeling hopeful that things are looking up for this young girl as she continues to grow and learn to come into her authentic self.

In the last entry in the Sheets trilogy Wendell starts to realize he wants to remember who he was and how he died. With the help of Marjorie and Eliza, he starts to piece together who he was, who his parents were, and more. At the same time Marjorie finds herself joining an old friends group (minus the bully) and this brings up feelings for Eliza. Then there is the mystery girl who is not into ghosts, but keeps turning up. Is she connected to Wendell's history? Different plot points weave together to create a pleasing, yet bitter sweet conclusion as Wendell finds out how he lived and died and Marjorie and Eliza navigate what is means to have and be friends. Absolutely wonderful and bittersweet.

I love it so, so, soooo much!

This story is absolutely amazing, heart warming and cozy... even if it deals with difficult topics. With each volume I fall in love with the characters more and more, I am drawn into their story and I'm extremely concerned about how their stories will turn out.

Wendell is so adorable... and Marjorie is a brave and lovable heroine. I could not imagine a better ending of this trilogy.

If someone like graphic novels, this one is a must-read.

As I delved into Lights, the captivating conclusion to the beloved Ghosts trilogy by Brenna Thummler, I was drawn back into the enchanting world of Marjorie, Wendell the ghost, and Eliza. The story follows their heartwarming journey to uncover the secrets of Wendell's past life, adding a touch of mystery and adventure to the mix. Thummler's masterful storytelling handles heavy themes with a delicate touch, exploring the complexities of compromise, friendship, and grief. The characters are imperfect, relatable, and deeply endearing, making their journey even more engaging. As they face both paranormal and real-life challenges, the trio's bond is put to the test, and Thummler weaves a tale that captures the essence of middle-grade emotions. Wendell's story, in particular, is a beautiful exploration of self-discovery and acceptance. As the mysteries unfold, the satisfying conclusion ties everything together, leaving me fulfilled.

Great ending to a fabulous series!
Finally finding out what happened to Wendell is what I wanted from this book.
The main character is very reserved, and I find them easy to empathize with.
Enjoyable story!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

A really good ending to the whole series. Although I must say this; I don’t know exactly how, but this book felt a bit lacking than the first two parts. I feel like the plot could’ve been a bit better, hence the one less star.

A big thanks to Netgalley and Oni Press for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I can't believe this trilogy is over!

Lights by Brenna Thummler is the third title in the graphic novel trilogy Sheets. Marjorie Glatt feels like a ghost. A practical thirteen year old in charge of the family laundry business, her daily routine features unforgiving customers, unbearable P.E. classes, and the fastidious Mr. Saubertuck who is committed to destroying everything she’s worked for. Wendell is a ghost. A boy who lost his life much too young, his daily routine features ineffective death therapy, a sheet-dependent identity, and a dangerous need to seek purpose in the forbidden human world. When their worlds collide, Marjorie is confronted by unexplainable disasters as Wendell transforms Glatt’s Laundry into his midnight playground, appearing as a mere sheet during the day. While Wendell attempts to create a new afterlife for himself, he unknowingly sabotages the life that Marjorie is struggling to maintain.

I absolutely loved this graphic novel series, and I cannot believe it's already over. But I am absolutely grateful I was able to read the story before it was published. This will certainly be a series I will forever be recommending and re-reading come spooky season.

Incredible! I love everything Brenna does, and this was no exception! This was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. I can't wait to see what Brenna does next.

Lights is the perfect end to the trilogy, focusing more the adorable Wendell the ghost. It still manages to discuss important themes such as those of loneliness, grief, bullying, and depression with amazing illustrations and storyline to match. However, it felt more lighthearted than the other two books. All in all, absolutely loved it and am recommending it to everyone I know!

Fantastic. (no spoilers review)
This has to be my favorite volume of the trilogy and I kept looking at the pages left and not wanting it to end.

I love this author/illustrator's style not only in the usage of color but in drawing style and storytelling. She always captures silent and very relatable body language very well, including life lessons and I keep taking notes of quotes. In this volume, there's a remark on how the stitches of something embroidered and beautiful can look so messy on the other side. Like life right? There are more examples like this but I'll let you discover them by yourself.

In this volume, we're going to close old stories and discover what really happened to the boy. As for the main character, it is also time to open up to more than one friend and learn how to keep friends.

Explores themes like mystery, paranormal, ghosts, death, dealing with loss and grief, humor, obsession with ghosts, friendships, moving on to a new grade and expanding circle of friends, not being egocentric, forgiveness, family... It is eerie sometimes, tense, mysterious, and sad (a good sad).

Thank you so much NetGalley and publisher for this Arc. My opinions are my own and honest.

Lights is the conclusion to the Sheets trilogy and in my opinion this is the best installment of three.

Where the first two books focus on the living, Lights focusses on Wendell the ghost. Where the other two books focus on mental topics as grief, bullying and depression and how to deal with them, Lights is more of a whodunnit that focusses on how Wendell died.

In the meantime we learn more about Wendell as a boy, his family and life, and what a special little dude he was.

The artwork was once again stunning, the pacing was very fast and while this book felt a bit more light-hearted than the other two, it still managed to touch on some heavier topics.

The third and final installment in the Sheets series bringing in all the feels to finish it out. Here we find out more about the ghost Wendell and what happened in his short life (and death), but side by side we get some good lessons about how we can be different things to different people, that we can have friends separate from each other or merge them with care and actual communication -- I wish someone had taught me this in middle school actually???

This series is both cute and sad at the same time, a good sort of coming of age/coming into yourself while dealing with grief and depression and that it may not just go away or be easily fixed but support and communication helps a lot.

Thank you to NetGalley and OniPress for the read in exchange for this honest review.

2nd in the series and for someone that does t usually read graphic, I did enjoy this. I'm not sure it's for me, but a nice easy read, good artwork and a good storyline.

This was so cute and funny! I didn't really care for the book right before this one in the series, but this book redeemed the series for me! I loved seeing the girls branch out and grow as induvials. Finally, we got to know Wendell's full story! The ending was a little sad, but it really felt like a full circle moment. It wrapped up the series perfectly.

Thank you NetGalley and Oni Press for the Arc! Out September 5, 2023!
