This is a good book. This book has two stories in it. Both characters in these stories have known each other all their lives. There is an attraction. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

Lily has a secret to the real paternity of her daughter but is worried it'll be revealed when someone sent her a mysterious letter. Jonas it's under the impression that his brother is a father to Lily's daughter. Jonas and Lily have been friends for a while and refuse to ruin that even with this attraction between the two. But that has to be put on the burner since Jonas is dealing with his own set of family issues.

I really enjoyed this book. I really love the idea of people taking a person in the past and writing a report as like a town history and it was Lily's turn to write about someone who seems to have had a colorful past. There was a lot of rumors and gossip and plenty of old secrets that no one wanted to reveal wanting to make the person of the past left outlandish. It was interesting to see how that played out. Then there was the whole literally having a secret about her daughters real father and having to reveal that but apparently not on her own term since someone may have found out. I was very curious to find out who was behind that and why and if it was connected to the history project that she was working on. It was interesting getting to know Jonas's set of issues as well. Jonas just was best for his son and even if they aren't blood related that is his son. Now the father of that child is sticking his nose in and Jonas clearly isn't going to let his son go without a fight and curious why this person showed up in the first place. That was interesting seeing how his family being played out. . Overall this was a pretty good book I really enjoyed it it was also nice getting a little addition at the end with a little novella.

This is a Cowboy Romantic Suspense, and this is the 6st book in the Last Ride, Texas series. I have read some of the other books in this series before picking up this book, but I think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I loved the characters in this book, and I also loved all the drama in this book. The suspense was more just drama not a build up. I felt the romance was cute and steamy at times. I really enjoyed reading this book. I love a good ranch/cowboy setting in a book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Canary Street Press) or author (Delores Fossen) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Twilight at Wild Springs is the 6th book in Delores Fossen’s Last Ride, Texas series. Featuring single mother Lily Parkman, this story begins when the quarterly draw of the Last Draw Society has Lily responsible for the research and story publishing of the town’s founder and Lily’s great great great grandmother Hezzie Parkman. While there are some who want the full story, warts and all, there is also a faction that only wants a scrubbed version. Each faction seems willing to take strong measures to make it happen.

At the same time, a mysterious note arrives at Wild Springs Ranch and is found by co-owner and ranch manager Jonas Buchanan. Assumptions made as to who would send a note telling a teen that it was time to know the truth and signed dad lead to miscalculations on both Lily and Jonas’ parts. As the town feud heats up the threat to either Lily’s daughter Hayden or Jonas’ stepson Eli escalates.

This is a different kind of mystery story for Ms. Fossen. There is the mystery surrounding Hezzie and rumors surrounding the source of her success, while concurrently occurring is the question of bio dad for both Hayden and Eli. This is a well written story with rich characters in a small town setting. I very much enjoyed this story and I do recommend it!

Lily and Jonas, can't have any future together, or that's what they think so.
Both of them hiding things from their children, and worry that relationship with their children can go wrong way, when they learn truth.
Loved the storyline.

Lily Parkman is raising her fourteen-year-old daughter on the ranch and keeping big secrets. Seems she has lied about her daughters father to everyone. Someone leaves a note in the mailbox and she thinks someone knows her secret.
Jonas Buchanan is her ranch foreman and raising his fourteen-year-old stepson. He catches them kissing in the barn; not something he wants to deal with right now. Jonas is Lily's childs uncle; she finally comes clean with him about her daughter Hayden's father. Her high school boyfriend died young, and she married his BFF to cover up she is pregnant.
Seems the note has lost of meaning to everyone keeping secrets. Jonas's stepsons father has showed up and wants custody and
Hayden is upset learning her mother Lily lied about her dad. I just love the mystery in Delores books and the Last Ride series has been a great series.

It appears that I have started reading this series with the last one. An engaging story. Probably would have meant more overall had I read the previous ones, but I certainly was enthralled by this one. I did skip over the intimate details. Interesting family dynamics. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I adored this book. Personally I’m giving it 10 stars (sorry for the retailers who have no imagination with their rating system!!!) I hated for it to end. The author is an old favorite of mine. This book is just another reason why I love Ms. Fossen. The plot is smooth, the characters are believable and all the twists and turns imaginable for a couple to go through (including her daughter and his step-son!)

This is written in a multiple POV format. Getting that glimpse into the main characters’ thoughts, help me to better understand them and connect with them. Especially with all of the emotional turmoil here. There were some very great lines that really resonated in me.

How can you not love two single parents who work hard on a ranch? Raise their children with love and respect. All while keeping me, the reader, on pins and needles!

This is a slightly sexy read. Those few scenes are very highly glossed over with no graphic details (more of a fade to black.) This is a keeper and one that will definitely be re-read over and over!

Lily and Jonas! This was a wild ride with the twists and turns between them, as well as the Hezzie research and the issues with Hayden and Eli. Read ALMOST in one sitting!

Delores Fossen never disappoints. Good story. Likable characters and a happy ending. I like how it all came together at the end.
Thank you Harlequin and Netgalley for the chance to review.

LIly and Jonas run the Wild Springs Ranch together. They have been good business partners and even better friends. Lily is raising her teenage daughter by herself with the help of her family. Jonas is raising his teenage stepson by himself after losing his wife. There is a lot going on at Wild Springs Rance and Lily and Jonas will have to work together to solve all of the issues and find their way to loving each other.

The author chose to make Lily and Jonas have similar issues at the same time. I like how they dealt with their issues separately but then came together to help each other work through their issues. The author did a good job showing how their business partnership and friendship could easily become a romance. I had a LOT of questions about Lily's ex-husband. Readers find out at the beginning of the story that he left when Lily's daughter was still just a baby and he's never looked back. I don't want to give any of the story away but at the end I was still wondering about him and his entire family. I thought Lily was a good character. She raised her daughter on her own and bought a ranch that she turned into a success. Her relationship with her family, particularly her twin sister, is really nice. Jonas is a quiet character who is just trying to live his life the best way he can. He gets pretty beaten up (emotionally not physically) during the story. His total support and love for his stepson was really nice. This story managed to pull emotional reactions from me. There is one scene in particular with Jonas that I felt kind of sick with everything happening to him (no spoilers from me).

I thought Lily kind of phoned in the report she was supposed to write about her ancestor. I don't see how she had time to do any actual research with everything else that was going on in her life and on the ranch. I think that the author threw one too many things into the story. It felt like there was a little too much going on. What that led to was some of the issues felt incomplete or forgotten. Finally, the ending was abrupt. I mean really sudden. I feel like Lily and Jonas earned a breather after the I Love You and the solution of their biggest issues but that's just my opinion.

This is a contemporary romance set in Last Ride, Texas. This is a story about family. If you are looking for an emotional ride with a side of falling in love, give this a try. I will read more from this author in the future.

TWILIGHT AT WILD SPRINGS

Terrific book about families - of the blood and the heart. The depth of emotion as secrets were revealed kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. This is the story of two teenagers and their parents whose lives are upended when those secrets come to light.

Lily is the owner of Wild Springs Ranch. Her daughter Hayden is fourteen years old. When Lily was a teenager, she fell in love with Griff. When Griff died right after learning Lily was pregnant, her grief was devastating. Cam, a good friend of hers and Griff's offered to marry her and claim the baby as his. Though the marriage ended quickly, Lily never told Hayden the truth. She knows she should, but the time never seemed right. Then a note appears in the mailbox, claiming that "Dad" wants to tell the truth. Lily is panicking, knowing she must tell Hayden before Cam shows up. Her ranch foreman and business partner, Jonas, is Griff's older brother, and she knows he needs to hear the truth from her.

Jonas is a widower with a fourteen-year-old stepson he's raised since the boy was two. He thinks of Eli as his son, no "step" about it. Jonas and Eli have a terrific relationship. Eli's mother, Maggie, was the love of Jonas's life, and he still grieves her loss. Maggie never talked about Eli's father, only saying he was bad news and not in their lives. Jonas has long suspected that Hayden is his niece but has never said anything to Lily.

Matters become highly complicated when Lily calls the number on the note and discovers it isn't her ex on the other end of the line. Instead, it is Eli's father, Bentley, who claims he never knew he had a son and wants to be part of Eli's life. I ached for Jonas, who was gutted by the thought of this man taking Eli away. I understood his wariness of a man who seems to appear out of nowhere after so many years. It was hard to see Eli's happiness at getting to know his bio dad when it was apparent how hard it was on Jonas.

Meanwhile, Lily tries to work up the courage to tell Hayden the truth. That choice is taken out of her hands by another anonymous note, this one attached to Hayden's bedroom window. I ached for Lily and Hayden as Hayden's feelings of betrayal drove a wedge between her and her mother. I liked how Lily's patience and understanding paid off. The emotions of the cemetery scene were a two-tissue event.

During this time of upheaval, Lily and Jonas lean on each other for support. Both are shocked to discover that under their long-standing friendship, there now burns an undeniable attraction. They try to fight their feelings, afraid of doing something that would destroy their friendship and make their partnership awkward at best. I loved seeing how their mutual support and understanding grew into so much more until they could no longer resist. I loved the ending and seeing them surrender to the love they couldn't deny.

Meanwhile, Jonas and Lily have reservations about Bentley and his sudden interest in Eli. The more I saw of him, the more I agreed that there seemed to be something off about him. I understood Jonas's fear that he was projecting his personal feelings and appreciated that he didn't interfere with Eli's desire to get to know Bentley. What happened in the end wasn't much of a surprise, but I hurt for Eli and his disillusionment.

A secondary storyline in the book is the town's tradition of picking one person to research someone buried in the town graveyard. This year's research project falls to Lily, and the subject is the town founder, Hezzie Parkman. Even this won't be the easy project Lily hoped for, as Hezzie had more than a few skeletons in her closet. Not everyone is happy about those secrets being made public, and Lily has to walk a fine line. I laughed out loud at some things old Hezzie got up to in her day. Her photography exploits were especially notable, and seeing reactions to the pictures was fun. I liked how Lily found a way to display honesty and discretion in her report.

TEMPTED AT THOROUGHBRED LAKE

Short second chance romance. Brennan and Ruby had just started a relationship in high school when her best friend swooped in and stole him away. An unplanned pregnancy had Brennan doing "the right thing" and marrying Alice. He never forgot Ruby or the guilt he felt for his actions. Ruby consoled herself with someone else and ended up with an unplanned pregnancy herself, but avoided the mistake of marrying someone she didn't love. She never forgot her feelings for Brennan though she tells herself she's moved on.

Ruby and Brennan get quite a shock when his son and her daughter get married two weeks before they're supposed to leave for college. Neither Brennan nor Ruby makes any secret of their dismay at their kids' impulsive action, but they also know there's nothing they can do about it. Moreover, Vivian and Seth point out that their parents obviously still have feelings for each other, and it's time they did something about it.

The rekindling of their relationship takes place over a few days as they spend time together exploring the attraction that never died. Older and wiser, they spend some time talking about the past. I liked their acknowledgment of mistakes made and lessons learned as they look toward a future together. There's an interesting twist involving Vivian and Seth at the end of the book.

Twilight at Wild Springs is the newest addition to the Last Ride series. Within this captivating narrative, the two main characters face numerous challenges that put their resilience to the test. Twilight at Wild Springs by Delores Fossen is the latest book in this author's Last Ride series. This storyline has some tough times for the two main characters. Lily Parkman has to do some truth telling to her fourteen year old daughter Lizzie. Widower Jonas Buchanan has news for his stepson that Jonas finds hard to deal with. I admire these two characters. They both do a great job dealing with their teenagers. And all the problems surrounding them. I like the setting and the people involved in this storyline. From the very beginning this book held my total attention. I was so glas to see all the problems resolved and Lily and Jonas get their Happily Ever After.

Secrets abound! A secret baby tale (though the babies are now 14) with a bit of a twist, this fast paced romance has a bit of mystery mixed in between the romance. Lilly, the mother of one of the children, is appealing and engaging and Jonas, the father of the other, is honorable and a hard-bodied sexy hunk. There are some nice steamy sexy bit, nothing too graphic, but fun nonetheless.

The birthing secrets get a forced revelation and everyone is reeling, at just the same time as Lilly and Jonas are realizing their attraction to one another and starting to heat up their relationship. There’s also a fun storyline about Lilly researching the town’s Revered Founder with her own secrets and dirt!

Thanks to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
