When Shari and Ross team up to write you know you are in for a treat, and The Fall is no different. It’s the third book in the Hollywood thriller series and it’s just as good as the previous two and works great as a standalone too.

It’s an explosive page-turner that keeps you hooked and this absolutely perfect read by the pool or on the beach this summer. It does not disappoint, with its strong characters who feel very real and the fast-paced plot, it has everything you want in a book.

REVIEW
- Great continuation of the Hollywood series
- Genuine relationships
- Hits all the emotions
- Drama on every page
- Brilliant insight into the world of Hollywood lifestyles
- Back to the glory of book 1

Absolutely love this series! It brings all the Hollywood glitz and glamour as well as all the drama. I’ve loved seeing the characters lives develop and grow and if this really is the last book, then it’s a very satisfying conclusion - and clever!

A total whirlwind of a series that kept me hooked and waiting for the next book each time. If you’re looking for something to really get your teeth into, then this is the series for you!

The Fall is the third and final book in The Hollywood Thriller Trilogy. Written by Shari Low and Ross King MBE, this Trilogy is one I am so sad to see the end of. From the first to the last book I lapped up every word.

I always enjoy Shari Low's work and after reading the first book in this Trilogy I do hope Shari and Ross team up again. I was so glad to hear The Fall was available for me to read and as soon as I picked it up everything melted away, apart from the lives of Zander, Mirren, Davie and the people around them. The first few pages had my heart in my mouth and then, the story slips back in time.

The story is as fresh as the first book and I was as captivated as every other time I have returned to these characters. I felt like I knew the trio after the first book and this book made me feel I was just rejoining them on their journeys. I was quite emotional as all three of their lives start to fall apart at the seams. It was like having friends and wishing I could help them through, particularly Zander. I do have a soft spot for that man! They are all so realistically created. I am sure Ross King MBE could get this trilogy on the screen, I can easily see it on the TV.

What an ending for these characters and I'm hoping an open ended one. I would be so pleased to see another instalment. I can't cope if this is the end! So many possibilities. The Hollywood Thriller Trilogy has been such an addictive read for me. I hated getting to the end of all of them and this book is the worst as I know its meant to be a final book.

If you love a thriller thats well written with flawed and realistic characters that you love to invest in. Action and intrigue that just keeps giving, you need to read this. Every book is a standalone because the authors do a catch up at the start of the book and a who's who too. I loved every single moment of every single book.

Loved the previous two books of the series, it was lovely to catch up with the same characters and new again. This is written well and throughly enjoyed. One to add to the shelf.

The third instalment of the Hollywood saga. Mirren, Davie and Zander are back

After a disappointing second book I was apprehensive about this. I loved the first one but the second fell flat for me, too much recapping of the first and while this does fill a lot of paragraphs with unneccessary recaps I did love it. The drama was intense, there was love, heartbreak, trashy reality tv and as many celebs as you need to get your fix. These books are pure trash but I love it.

This is the third in the series, and I have absolutely loved every moment of each of the books! While the other books definitely help set this one up, there is enough info at the beginning of each book and reminders throughout, that reading all three is not necessary. (This also helps when you read way too many books and forget what happened in the last book....)

The Fall picks up where The Catch left off, Mirren has had a mistake from her recent past haunt her as it is released in hopes of helping boost someone else's popularity. The fallout of this mess could impact her job, reputation and her marriage! Davie is left at the alter by his fiancee, a journalist from Glasgow who is working on a #MeToo project in Hollywood, after an unexpected wedding invite triggers memories of trauma she is not yet ready to share with him. He also struggles financially after he used his own money to fund a new show that seems to be riddled with bad luck. But it is quite obvious that Zander has the worst of things in this book. After some creepy incidences with a stalker he loses someone he loves in an unexpected and traumatic altercation with his stalker.

I love the connections (and perhaps elusions to) Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow, about the Weinstein scandal. From addictions, to excessive waste of wealth, to the #MeToo movement, Low and King have done an excellent job showing the dichotomies of Hollywood and weaving in pressing issues with a very personal spin, making these fictional stories really resonant with readers. As with their previous books, Low and King have a way with building suspense, while also demonstrating the gap between the image and reality of those picture-perfect lives we see on magazines and TV. While I'm not certain, the book ended with a lot of perfectly tied up loose ends, so I feel like this may be the last in the series, but I really hope this author team pairs up again to bring more great books, I know I would be right there ready to read and review the next project they would take on!

I am so grateful to Rachel and Boldwood for organizing this tour and giving me the chance to join in on the fun! I always love a good boldwood #booktour!

I recently finished reading "The Fall" and found myself completely engrossed in the intricate plot, which gradually revealed secrets and surprises that kept me engaged until the very end. The pacing was well-balanced, allowing for moments of introspection and reflection, interspersed with thrilling twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The authors skillfully explored themes of forgiveness, second chances, and the power of love, adding depth and substance to the narrative.

While I thoroughly enjoyed "The Fall," I must admit that there were a few minor drawbacks that prevented it from achieving perfection. There were times when the pacing felt slightly uneven, with certain sections progressing slower than others. Additionally, a few plot points could have been further explored and resolved, leaving some loose ends that may leave readers craving a more definitive conclusion. Despite these minor flaws, however, I still highly recommend "The Fall" to anyone looking for a thrilling and thought-provoking read.

Mirren, Davie, and Zander all grew up in a tough neighborhood in Glasgow. Through hard work and endurance, they are all now Hollywood superstars. To escape their dire lives in Glasgow, they did a very bad thing but covered it up and hope it stays covered. At one time, something happened that drove the friends apart, but they have now reconciled.

Mirren, a successful author, had separated from her husband but they have now reconciled. She lost a daughter to drugs and now supports drug treatment centers in her daughter’s name. Her son, Logan is a successful singer.

Zander has married his long-time agent but there is someone out there that wants to ruin their lives.

Davie has been a successful talk show host but now he is having financial problems.

Sarah McKenzie is a Scottish journalist who is on a mission to see to it that a wealthy and influential man gets his comeuppance for his abuse of women.

The characters are believable as we see their lives intertwine, but as I’m an avid reader and don’t follow Hollywood, this book is much like a soap opera. However, I’m sure there will be others that will enjoy this book immensely.

Coming into the limelight does not mean you do not have issues behind the scenes.

Behind the stars are also real-life issues and problems.

I hadn’t realised this was part of a series, but this did not take away from the novel, and I felt this could be read as a stand-alone.

I have read novels by Low before and was excited to read a novel with them teamed up, and I was not disappointed.

I really enjoyed this writing style with unique characters who were realistic and had depth.

Once again, I accidentally picked up a book in the middle of a series where I hadn’t read the previous books, but this was a fantastic story and gave me enough to catch me up. I thought the authors did a great job of giving enough info to those who have not read the other books while also not overly doing it for those who have read the others. The story centers on Hollywood elites named Mirren, Davie, and Zander who are in their late 40s and are dealing with a whole mess of personal and professional problems.

I felt like this story manages to be both light and dark at the same time. It deals with some very heavy stuff and also some heartbreaking stuff, but the authentic relationship between the characters just worked and made the whole thing feel like I was hanging out with friends. The authors really nailed the dynamic between these characters as well as the others in their circle. I was sad when it ended and have no doubt I’ll go back and read the 2 previous books.

Overall, the Hollywood vibe isn’t really my regular genre but I liked this book a lot and thought it had some good suspense without being a full on mystery. The characters made it engaging and I would have read about whatever they were doing! Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Fall is the third and hopefully not the last installment in this glitzy, glam series. Whilst there is a 'catch up' at the front of the book for those of you who haven't read the previous books in the series, I ask myself - why? Why would you start such a brilliant series on book three?

Low with the addition of Hollywood insider Ross King have between them created such a wonderfully exciting series featuring Davies, Mirren and Zander, firm friends from their younger days on the mean streets of Glasgow. Characters that I've found myself become emotionally invested in as the series has furthered.

Allow Low and King to take you on an explosive, twisty trip through the Hollywood Hills, up the red carpet and beyond.

Exciting, entertaining and not to dissimilar to the healthy diet of Jackie Collins novels I grew up on.

My Review: I had a fabulously fun and intriguing time on the BlogTour for The Fall. I listened to it on Audible whilst decorating in the heat. It was good to catch up with Mirren and co. Shari and Ross did another wonderful job bringing the characters to life and making their stories interesting. Love, fancy scenarios, will they won't they, friendship with the emotional roller coasters. I recommend this as a pool side, garden read/ listen. It's easy to follow and enjoy. You'll need snacks and a nice cool drink too. More please.

This is a wonderful third installment in The Hollywood Trilogy. I am obsessed with this series and don't think I am the only one desperate for this not to be the end. Zander, Davey and Mirren are fundamentally flawed, great characters with a depth and emotion that makes you love and root for them. These books get better and better and I just NEED more.

Part of the blog tour. I got curious! It isn’t my normal sort of read, but Ross King knows how to talk up something, so curiosity got to me. I’ll admit I had reservations of it being too schmaltzy or whimsy. I need not have worried. In blockbuster terms, it could perhaps be a film. It has a realism, glitz, and even some grit and it does actually make a very good, compelling summer read.

Meet the main cast of characters of The Fall - Mirren McLean - a writing legend, Zander Leith - a movie star, Davie Johnston - a TV producer and Sarah McKenzie - a Scottish journalist who moved to LA. They had it tough, growing up in the hardened housing estates of Glasgow and managed to escape for the glitz of Hollywood. There’s plenty of background from the beginning about the 3 characters, giving a taste of what their lives were like in Glasgow, the people attached to them and what they do. It’s like a small biography to introduce the characters. It’s really good. It goes with the tone of the book and also great for the reader because you know a bit about the people, like you’d read in a film or book bio of the author or an actor. Then you move onto the prologue and onto the rest of the book.

The book is more intense and intriguing than I expected. A wedding occurs and this marks the beginning of the fall for our famed characters. It is a bit like scratching the glitzy surface of the shimmery star-lined streets and shiny people of Hollywood and really digging deep into what lies underneath what the general public see, until things explode. It shows how people think they’re practically untouchable and infallible, until things happen and how impactful mistakes are.

This is a surprisingly good summer read with what feels like a good writing partnership with knowledge and flair that seems to compliment to create an absorbing story. It is sure to be a hit!

I absolutely loved this book by Shari Low!

Set in Hollywood, three childhood friends navigate the challenges of staying at the top. Zander, Davie, and Mirren face personal and professional setbacks that put their success on the line. Can they survive or is it time to walk away?

Filled with vibrant characters and captivating storylines. It's a book to get lost in, experiencing the highs and lows. By the end, you'll feel thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend this enjoyable beach read. Even if you haven't read the previous books in the series, "The Fall" provides a brilliant recap. The authors skillfully capture the glamour and pitfalls of fame and business. 4 fabulous stars and thank you NetGalley and Boldwood books for allowing me to ARC read!

Within this brilliant series you follow 3 celebrities, Mirren, Davie and Zander Hollywood celebrities who have risen to the top from humble beginnings in Glasgow now living in Hollywood,
But, don't worry of you have not read the first two books, You can easily get into this book.

I highly recommend this book and was a quick enjoyable read. This was my favourite out of the three book.

The third book in this Hollywood series is aptly named. Davey, Mirren and Zandas' lives are full of drama. This story explores contemporary themes through its characters, and it's an emotional read. I cared about the main characters and was immersed in their lives, which is addictive reading. As their lives change, the main protagonists undergo significant character development, making them believable and drawing the reader's sympathy. I like the dynamic between the three friends, the contemporary relevance and the uplifting conclusion of this story.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Having loved everything Shari Low has ever written, I took a chance on this series - and it just keeps getting better and better! This collaboration works so very well.

Three friends. from their Glasgow childhood, have made it to the highest echelons in Hollywood and are learning that's it is harder to stay at the top than it is to get there in the first place. Zander Leith has said goodbye to his womanising ways and married Hollie, the love of his life and the one woman who does understand him but, on reflection, he should have give the stalker a bit more thought that he did. Davie Johnston has lost his crown as the star of late night tv talks shows but there is a chance to get it back - if he is willing to put everything on the line. Mirren McLean's star is dimming after she made one mistake which comes back to bite her, Can they survive the latest events in their lives - or is it time to cut and run?

This is such an awesome series! Full of life and sparkle with such a lot going on. I like to think I can pick out the bits each author was responsible for - but, of course, I probably got it all completely wrong. With three such fabulous characters, there is massive scope for entertaining storylines and I don't think there were any missed opportunities. This is a book to immerse yourself in, enjoying the downs as well as the ups and when you finally reach the last page, you will feel properly entertained. A cracking series, and one I heartily recommend! 5*

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.
