A Poem, Fencing, Research, Romance:
The charming Dukes in Danger series continues with our hero character Montague who is a duke and also a grouchy entitled person only our heroine could possibly tolerate.
He has been wounded and now he will continue with his favorite pastime fencing.
He soon meets Sarah in a most unusual way, and this is where our romance story takes off and we follow them through many rough times, many witty conversations, desirous attraction, a sparkling first kiss, which leads eventually to much more serious and passionate encounter.
A fun lighthearted story that has a happy ending with a few surprises along their way.
A romance story that was a joy to read and a "Bravo" to this author who tends to write about interesting characters that have flaws to overcome. Some emotional and some physical

I liked this book. The heroine is writing an epic poem so she turns up in Oxford looking for a fellow writer. The Duke is hiding at his old college trying to recover from his leg wound. Eventually Sarah realises that she needs to understand duels and Montague starts to teach her. The Romance builds up and his injury improves. Sarah is upset when she realises that he wants to return to fighting for the crown in France,,,,,,this surprised me as I didn't think the napoleonic battles actually took place in France itself around 1809. I thought it was either Spain or Austria, Germany etc. I suppose you could argue Napolean had made those bits part of his empire.

A fun sweet romance with a grumpy injured Duke and a shy poetess who he teaches to fence. A definite case of they bring the best out of each other and fall in love along the way. A quick easy read recommended. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

once again, you should not judge a book by its cover. case in hand, this was pretty good! the romance was very cute, i looooved both montague and sarah, i think they had great chemistry. they both felt very real and i appreciated that montague was dyslexic (that’s how i interpreted it) and i also believe sarah is neurodivergent because there’s just so many things (especially how she gets confused when she speaks and the words just don’t come out as she intended) that reminded me of myself and other people’s experiences. this was super fast paced but the romance didn’t feel rushed either so that’s a win, i guess. my only critique would be that the 3rd act conflict was so dumb and cheesy, it could’ve been avoided with more communication. i really had a great time with this book and totally recommend it, 4⭐️

I am just going to say do yourself as a reader a favor, block out a couple of hours and truly settle down with this great book.

Wounded and frustrated his leg is not healing, Montague is eager to be back fighting in France. Sarah, a budding poet, encounters him when she goes to Oxford for an appointment with a poet. She convinces Montague to teach her fencing and their attraction grows. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

He was hiding away in Oxford
Montague the Duke of Caefall had been injured in France and was trying to recover from a gunshot wound as well as keeping a low profile until he was able to return to France to fight when she barged into his life.
First of all Sarah thought he was a poetry professor and he thought she was there to entertain him, then much to his dismay, she was his student for fencing lessons.
A female Poet and a Duke together they have one fun adventure. Sarah is full of life and Montague is full of anger but together they learn to accept each other, get to know one another and are suddenly passionately in love with each other.
An enjoyable emotional witty read with a great storyline! Well worth a read.
