If you are looking for a good summer read, add this to your list. I picked it up just briefly reading it was about building a house in Maine, but it turned out to be much more than just about a house. It was, just like the title, Framing a Life.
The biggest take away for me from this book is what readers will reflect on when completing the book. I believe all of us will find some piece of us in the main character, Roberta (who I am assuming is also the author), whether it be the ending of a relationship, maneuvering adulthood, or moving to a new place. All of these are the things I reflected on while admiring Roberta's strength and forgiveness, and could empathize with her inability to forget her childhood or sometimes self doubt.
This is one of those books that will keep you coming back until the last page. There's a few twist and turns that were surprising, but above all, I enjoyed the progression of Roberta's life and saw myself more than once in a similar situation.
