This was cute and fun , it was like watching the bachelorette. The ending was my favorite. I love how it wrapped up. These two main characters story had its ups and downs but I was always hoping for them.

A cute and fun book. That is funny, warm hearted, light and not too serious, perfect for those summer holidays at the beach. Where you will hopefully be living your best lives.

I loved this book so much!! I've been a fan of "The Bachelor" since the beginning and all the spin-offs as well, so this book was right up my alley!!!

Emily might be more soft-spoken than her identical twin, Sam, but she's no less spunky, fun and deserving of love.

The fact that Jake broke her heart 7 years before is something she's still working through until her mom puts her singleness on display for the world to see.

What follows will make you laugh, make you cringe and will hopefully make you cheer a little. If romance reality shows are your thing at all you should definitely read this book a chance.

I would recommend this book even if reality t.v. isn't your thing, I loved it that much!

Loved this book from beginning to end. Jake left Emily without a word and years later they meet again. On the set of a reality TV show where 30 men compete for Emily’s heart.

This book has everything you would want in a second chance romance. Funny moments, lots of pining and a beautiful love story.

“I don’t want you to get hurt.”“Since when?”“That’s not fair.”

This was such a fun and entertaining book! I liked both Jake & Emily. They were both right on their sides and had their equal shares of past traumas and issues. The reality show concept was super amusing and kept me interested. It was clear from the start that Jake & Emily were meant to be together. They not only found their way back to each other but also grew individually. The side characters, Sam & Cooper have intrigued me and I'm definitely going to read their book when it comes out! Overall, the book was full of fluffy moments, some shocking revelations and I really enjoyed read it!

This book has so many amazing things to love, and you should read it if you like:
- second chance romance
-reality tv dating shows
- forced proximity
- revenge
-workplace romance

There were times when I laughed, cried, and swooned during this book. There were a lot of unexpected twists and turns, and I'm so excited that there is going to be a book two in this series!

I love the idea of an ex being forced to watch as the love of his life finds love on a reality dating show. Jake works on a reality show, and Emily is cast as the lead. They haven't seen each other in 7 years... since he disappeared from her bed in the middle of the night and never looked back. They must confront their pasts and heal their scars, if they want to move on with a future together or with someone new.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kaitlyn Davis for an ARC of this book.

I picked this book because I remember reading some lovely books by this author. The cover is nice as well.

The book is about Emily, who finds out her mom has been telling 'Emily needs a man' on national TV. Embarrassing as it sounds, it does land her the lead in the tv dating show 'The Love Match' (like 'The Bachelorette'), which results in her jewellery business getting a lot more sales. Unfortunately, it also brings her back in contact with her ex boyfriend Jake. She still mourns their break-up 7 years before when Jake suddenly left her.

I actually do not like dating shows at all, but I really loved Emily. We get snippets of their relationship 7 years ago and the heartbreak. Also dual POV!

Overall I really enjoyed this story and could not wait to get the extra epilogue.

The Love Rematch made me a believer in second chance romances! Never thought the day would come, but here I am, whew! There was so much heart in this one. Within this book you’ll find belly full of laughter, hearts breaking but also mending, endless swooning and fainting spells, and spirits lifting with hope. It’s such a lovely, delightful read.

》The Leads《

Emily. That’s my girl right there! She is the facet of this story I loved most. I loved her and felt so fiercely protective of her. I wanted to end all her hurt, to make the source of it pay, and to see her off in a happy ending. Oh how she deserves a happy ending! She has secrets that hide a life of pain and uncertainty, yet she courageously marches one foot in front of the other, squaring her shoulders, holding her head high, and she keeps on going. Game on, indeed.

My love for Jake didn’t come as easily as it did for Emily, but for me, that just makes him an even more interesting character. I really had to sit back and pay attention to him, to figure this enigma out…to give him the same chance Emily did. Sometimes his actions really grated me, other times they turned me to jello, but most times? Most times, I understood him. Even when I was mad at him, I understood his actions, and I rooted for him to dismantle the hurdles he placed in front of his own path. I wanted his redemption. He is a worthwhile hero, and that I never doubted.

》At the Heart of Romance《

I am not one commonly fond of second chance romances, especially when the initial romance happens during the protagonists’ adolescence. But the synopsis of this book haunted me. There was something special there that I just knew would make me click into one of my least consumed romance tropes. And click I did! The more I read, the more I was sold on this second chance love story. My heart ached and hurt so many times! At times I wanted to tuck Emily into my arms and take her away from the source of all her pain and angst. Sometimes I wanted to shake reason into Jake’s head and tell him to go run after his girl! But all the time I was swooning and cheering for these two to find each other along the way. That said, the more jealous scenes the better, haha! And with 30 men vying for Emily’s attention, the jealous scenes quota was most certainly filled up to the brim.

It was a beautiful, sweet, heart-aching, devastating, hopeful romance.

》A Missed Beat《

The sole caveat I had was Jake’s back-and-forth. I grew frustrated with his fickleness, the way he’d disarm Emily, bring down her defensive walls, only to walk away from her again and again. It became too repetitive. Although we do get his POV and along with it the understanding the why of it all, I think I would have liked some groveling on his part. That said this is truly a minor nitpick that says more about me than the book. This did not deter my enjoyment whatsoever, this is basically me wanting more because I didn’t want this one to end anytime soon. I was all in!

》Second Chances《

This story throw my heart in all directions, it needed bandages at times! But it left whole and complete. I am so happy with this story!

But before I go! Can we talk Cooper, please!? Even at my most angry at Jake I never wanted another guy to interfere between him and Emily. But let me tell ya..Cooper came close. No, there was no chemistry there between him an Emily, and they themselves knew that. But he’s such a good guy, to the point I felt offended on his behalf (and perhaps a bit jealous) they were trying to set him up as the next star of Love Rematch! It filled me with ick, just, no. No thank you, he deserves more than that!

Then Sam showed up.

And everything changed.

I cannot express how utterly excited I am for their book! I am seated and eager for so much more! I cannot wait!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

A fun and fresh book that once the storyline picked up was great! I enjoyed the angst and chemistry that Jake and Emily had together from the first time they met. The second chance had my heart swooning as these two got out of their own way and the past and came together! A great start to a series and I can't wait to see these characters again! x

I've never read anything by this author before, but I definitely will again.
The Love Rematch was exactly what I look for in a romcom/contemporary romance. Fresh characters, a great backstory, and redemption for both.

Emily and Jake were a thing 7 years ago. That all changed when he left town without a backwards glance.
Emily has had a hard time moving on. Then, her mother does the unthinkable and gets her a spot on a reality dating show, ala the Bachelorette. Who's a producer on that show? Jake.

When they meet up again the sparks fly, the lies get told, and the show runners make both their lives miserable.

This book was a wonderful read on a spring afternoon. Good dialogue, great introspection, and a fast plot. A definite 5 from me.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I LOVED being transported behind the scenes of The Love Match. We all know reality tv isn’t what it seems and seeing Jake and Emily reunited in this setting was hilarious.

Second chance romance and forced proximity? Amazing.

I also loved the relationship between Sam and Emily. The sister bond of having each others backs but also being able to dole out the cold hard truth when you need to is precisely how it works.

Dare I say I’m even more excited to read about Sam’s journey in book 2?!

Oh my goodness this was the romcom I didn’t know I was missing in my life and blew through it in a day. Is it frivolous? Yes! Is it the most Bachelor-inspired read I’ve read? Yes! But that didn’t make me not love it. There were some heavy topics sprinkled in to cause some anticipation and drama, but ultimately the rekindled romance of the two MCs was so much fun! Can you imagine being on the Bachelorette and your ex is the producer? I can’t wait for book 2 and can only hope Sam and Cooper will take the lead!

An amazing story . I couldn't put it down after few chapters . Our main couple is in their middle twenties . When they were 17 they had been a couple for 10 months before he left her for no reason . Now 7 years later they came face to face when she is the lead for the dating reality show The Love Match and he is a producer for the show . She has 30 men to date and choose one of them . Emily is still in love with Jack but her twin sister Sam told her to go to the show so she can have her revenge . Jake is jealous of all the men but he had his reasons when he left Emily . Will they find their second chance in love ? I can't wait for Sam's story .
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .

The Love Rematch takes place seven years after the love of Emily's life sneaks out her bedroom window and disappears from her life altogether. She's mourned the loss so hard that her mom takes it upon herself to announce on national TV that #emilyannneedsaman.

The stunt lands Emily the lead role on her favorite realty TV show where, you guessed it, her long-last love Jake is a producer!

The ensuing chaos is funny, sweet, and heartbreaking. Snippets of Emily and Jake's past are weaved into the present, and every flashback adds another layer of swoon to the story. The author beautifully showed how they grew together in the past and ached to find each other in the present. I feel like I know the characters inside and out!

Watching Jake stew while Emily was wooed by 30 men was fantastic. I don't generally condone torture, and Jake had his reasons - good ones - for abandoning her, but he deserved it nonetheless for never making those reasons known.

The Love Rematch is my favorite book of 2023 so far! I devoured it in one afternoon and am sad I'll never read it for the first time again.

Be prepared to jump for joy and excitement when you figure out who the subject of the sequel will be!!

Wow, what an AMAZING read, The Love Rematch is a witty, faced past, second chance romance novel that has you hooked from the first line. ( and dual POV!)

Imagine waking up one morning to see your mum on a morning news segment practically begging for you to go on a reality dating show, well that's what happened to the FMC Emily Peters. Not only did Emily end up going onto this bachelorette-esque reality show but her childhood love who broke her heart 7 years prior is the producer.

As you can imagine this premise has you on the edge of your seat. Immersive plot and satirical dialogue had me reading this in one day!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, it was so entertaining seeing Emily date 30 different men in front of her ex and make him suffer, Emily was a funny realistic and likeable mc and had me rooting for her the entire book. Not to mention her sister is ICONIC, had me actually laughing out loud with some of the things she said.

I literally can not fault this novel at all (which is extremely rare for me) Loved it.

If you are reading this review before you have read the book, just start reading, This is the best book I have read in years! Seriously, get this book. For a more detailed breakdown, read on.

Let's address a possible trigger warning because I don't want anyone to have a trauma trigger and ruin this bomb-ass book for you. There is discussion of DV in the hero's childhood and he clearly has trauma about it to deal with. The descriptions are not graphic, but if this topic is a hard line for you, then you have been advised.

Do you have to be a fan of reality tv or ever actually seen an episode of the Bachelor/ Bachelorette to enjoy this book? Nope. Is this a fun romcom that also had me reaching for tissues in chapter 23? Yup. Did I get to the end of this book and immediately join the author's email list so I can know as soon as another book comes out? Hell yes.

Now, sometimes books that alternate perspective chapter by chapter are actually terrible and frustrating. This is not that. It actually flows really well, doesn't cover the same ground which keeps the story moving, and the character voices are clearly defined so that even without the name at the top of the chapter, it is obvious whose voice it is.

And sometimes "second chance romances" get bogged down by extensive flashbacks or long bouts of info dumping. This book, thankfully, does not. Instead it works more like real life when you see, say, touch, smell something and it sparks a memory of something specific. I hope more authors take note of Kay Marie's writing of these scenes because not only were they short, to the point, and felt sharp in that way that some memories can be, they also didn't give the whole game away and they leave you wanting to know more of what happened when and what will happen. It was pretty damn brilliant.

Without giving the plot points away, I can tell you that the angst and standard misunderstandings of this genre actually make sense in this story. At no point did I think either character made a choice just to serve the plot (ok, maybe one thing, but it was so reality tv that I think it is fine). Oddly they made decisions because they loved each other and wanted to protect the other in ways that really only make sense to you when you are 17 and in love. And then when they are grown, they try to make better choices and it is refreshing to see growth.

That ending tho???
