This was a very unique and very cute love story. I always love a good second chance if the people are right. I absolutely enjoyed these characters and i loved how much their depth and backstories built up during the book.

The Love Rematch is the bachelorette meets the Hating Game meets Love & Other Words. If you are a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows then you definitely need to read this book. If you are a fan of second chances then you definitely need to read this book. And if you are a fan of a love story between two broken people who want nothing more than to see the other person happy even if that means they aren’t together then you definitely need to read this book.

From the beginning I thought this was just going to be another fun enemies to lovers set in a “scripted” reality tv show background but very quickly I realized there was a deep love but also a deep hurt between Emily and Jake. You really feel for them and you can understand the insecurities and the fears that kept them apart and also the hold they still have on each other.

I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read Emily’s twin sister Sam’s book and learn what happened between her and Cooper, one of the shows’s front runners.

Thank you publishers and netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

Not really an ARC anymore, but I got my copy from NetGalley, so thank you to them!

This book was so stinking cute I finished it in one day while I still had so many other things going on in my day. I always love a good second chance romance, but this book might have just jumped up towards the top of my favorites.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The characters were well developed. The backstory was sprinkled in so great throughout the storyline. Jake and Emily were two characters easy to fall for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well worth the read and I can’t wait for Sam and Cooper’s book next!

This one was so good!! If you loved The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren, you’ll definitely like this one as it’s in the same vein. This is basically a book version of The Bachelor. Emily is made the lead of the show after her mom goes on live television proclaiming that her daughter needs a boyfriend (yikes!). As if that isn’t enough, her ex from 7 years ago, and the one she really loved, is a producer of the show. Reunited, the two oscillate between being enemies/ friends /okay with each other/ lovers. After all, he’s being tasked with finding her fiancé and he still loves her.
The tension between these two was so good, and reading what are essentially episodes of the show was so entertaining! It’s a fun read, with some emotional chapters which add depth to it and I really enjoyed it.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

2.25 stars.

"The Love Rematch" by Kay Marie left me severely wanting. I did not love this. It's full of red flags featuring two characters who do everything except sit down and have an actual conversation with each other when it's desperately what they need to do more than anything. Their miscommunication goes on and on and on and on until the last chapter of the book! The vibes are bad... very, very bad. Jake, the main male character, left Emily, the main female character, 7 years ago without so much as a word. YIKES RED FLAG RED FLAG RED FLAG! He never moved on from her, she never moved on from him, and somehow, we're supposed to think that's acceptable, and we are supposed to root for them to get back together after he did this! Nope nope nope. This book is essentially a repeat of the same 5 lines of dialogue and scenarios over and over. I got tired reading this because it was so repetitive! This should have been a 120 page novella. It did not need to be as long as it was. Though it started out promising, it quickly devolved from there, and unfortunately, I did not have a good time reading this story.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kay Marie, and Kaitlyn Davis for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for my review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Emily wakes up one morning to see her mother on television begging America to find her a boyfriend. It goes viral and the reality show, The Love Match, is looking for their new leading lady. Im a cruel twist, the producer of the show, Jake, is her ex boyfriend who broke her heart seven years ago. Emily is ready for revenge, but spending so much time with Jake complicates things.

The pining between these two was great!! I love a good angst filled, second chance romance, and this book delivered! I loved Emily’s twin sister, Sam, who brought humor and drama! There were also a few twists that I didn’t expect! This was such a fun, spicy, and charming read! I devoured this book and cannot wait for the next one by Kay Marie!

Perfect romcom for anyone who is a fan of reality tv shows! I love reading background of fake shows similar to Bachelor and this one delivered. A little predictable but overall enjoyed the characters. The plot was well paced and kept me entertained the whole time.

I'm not sure what it was about this book but, despite finishing it, it's one I didn't love. I think parts of the romance felt overly repetitive and I hate the misunderstanding trope with a passion and this one just seemed OTT. I did like the female MC, but didn't like the almost possessive and felt like he was the one hard done by.

Loved this second chance romance and Kays writing! Cannot wait to read her backlist.
Trash reality TV is my guilty pleasure, so reading about one was so fun for me. Plus this is so fast paced with drama, but also angst.
Getting both their POVs was worth it, it helped know where each other stood in the past and present.

Even though Emily and Jacob were great, I know that Sam will go down as my fav when I DIVE into her book.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher!

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I've been about 50/50 on books about dating shows, but this was very light on the actual show and heavy on the outside drama. This made for a fast read that kept me interested. I am really looking forward to book 2!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

Ohhhh my gosh, I loved this book!! I think this just made the bachelorette trope my new favorite! And if that’s not an actual trope it needs to be! The settings, the behind the scenes look at the reality show, the characters, the drama, the chemistry, the little glimpses into the past…it was just all so good and fun! This was my first book by this author and thank goodness she has a backlist for me to go binge! I can’t wait for book two in this series!

Did I just find my new favorite rom com author?! A Bachelorette inspired second chance romance that I completed ate up! I loved the characters, the pacing, and the inevitable HEA! The chemistry between Em and Jake was so obvious and HOT. I also really liked Cooper and was excited to hear he is featured in the second book with Emily's sister Sam. I can NOT wait to read about them!! Definitely a Kay Marie fan from here on out.

The Love Rematch by Kay Marie

My rating:
5/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Emily’s mom goes on national TV to try to get her a boyfriend, Emily is chosen to be the star of the show, The Love Match. Emily will be dating 30 men and every aspect of her life will be filmed to try to find her perfect match. What she didn’t expect, was her ex boyfriend Jake would be producing the show.

I loved this one so much! I absolutely love any book that has a reality show dating plot. This very much reminded me of the True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren and If The Show Fits by Julie Murphy. This had so much character development and I loved the relationship between Emily and her sister Sam.

The story was told in both Emily and Jake’s perspectives. This was a mildly spicy novel that had me swooning and interested the entire time.

I would absolutely recommend this one if you like the Bachelor / Bachelorette tv shows, the author Sarah Adams or the author Abby Jimenez.

it was just what I never knew I needed!

Emily, who is unmarried, is still hurting from a toxic relationship she was in seven years ago. However, her life abruptly changes when she unintentionally becomes the main character on "The Love Match" and meets her former partner.
In addition to working behind the scenes on a reality program, Jake is attempting to pursue his dream of becoming a director in Los Angeles. When his ex-girlfriend is introduced as the main love interest, everything in his world abruptly changes. How will they make it through this reality show? He left her seven years ago to ensure she could have a happy life without holding her back, and he hardly made it through that.

It was unlike any book I've ever read, taking readers on a fast-paced reality TV journey in this modern romance. I adore the concept of watching a behind-the-scenes program that features beautiful locations from around the globe and a ton of details to really move me along.

I was definitely kept on edge till the very end because the last few chapters threw some unexpected twists.

The book’s epilogue really is hyping me up for the 2nd book in the series

This storyline was one that hasn't been done a million times before, and I must say, it was everything I didn't know I needed!

Emily is single and still harboring pain from a bad relationship 7 years earlier. But when she inadvertently ends up as the leading lady on 'The Love Match', her life suddenly takes a turn when she's brought face-to-face with her ex.
Jake is trying to work towards his directing dream in LA and is currently working behind the scenes of a reality show. When his world suddenly turns upside down when his ex-girlfriend is brought in as the lead, love interest. He left her 7 years earlier to make sure she was able to have a good life without holding her back, and he barely got through that... how are they going to survive this reality show?

This contemporary romance takes us on a whirlwind reality TV adventure, and it was like no other book I've ever read. I love the idea of a behind the scenes show that plays out in front of me, which included some lovely destinations around the world and included lots of details to bring my right along.

The last few chapters threw in some curveballs that weren't expected, so it definitely kept me on my toes right until the last word. Aldo, the added curveball in the epilogue made me extra excited for Book 2 in this series.

This was such a cute concept for a romance novel! I really enjoyed both Jake and Emily as characters. As a second chance romance, this was top tier. This book had so much heart and humor that I will be looking forward to more of Kay Marie's works. Thank you for the ARC!

The bachelorette has nothing on the love rematch! The twits and turns in this book were out of this world. I did not see anything coming and that just made it that much more enjoyable. This second chance romance is a must read! I can’t wait for book two!!!

Thank you Kay Marie for the ARC. This was a great premise. I'd love to see it as a movie. The miscommunication trope went on for too long.
