Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for another awesome read!! The Homemaker was UNREAL, sooooooo Good! It started with so many different stories going on with the neighbors. What a plot, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this novel. Sick and twisty characters, I’m sad I’m done reading it.

"The Homemaker" is a psychological suspenseful book that will keep you turning pages long into the night. With it's twists and hidden clues along the way it will keep you captivated and guessing right to the end. It's exceptionally written and I cannot wait to read more by this author.

With thanks to netgalley for an early copy in return for an honest opinion
Having read other books by this author I knew it would be a delightful tale which it was I throughly enjoyed the characters and the premise and can highly recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book tells the story from the point of view of 3 different women; Jenna, Peyton and Ginger. Jenna has just moved into the neighbourhood and is making friends (separately) with the two other women (who clearly have some history and don't get along).

It also jumps back and forth between the present and 1 year ago when Jenna moved into the neighbourhood.

There is some secret about what happened to the previous owners of Jenna's house, as well as what might have happened to Ginger's husband. Those stories had potential, I thought. But the blurb was misleading to say the least. It's not that Jenna is confused whether there ever was a baby.

Also, I'm really not a fan of deranged super-villains who have been plotting dastardly deeds for eons. It was an ok read, but that part brought down the rating for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookoutre for an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Filled with secrets, twists and drama all the way through the story creating an epic read even. The story is suspenseful and full of intrigue, a read that I would recommend to other readers.

This book was addicting! I did not want to put it down. The characters felt a bit one dimensional at first, and the writing style was a bit off for me starting out, BUT the plot 🤌🏼😘 Wow! I was invested! I’m so glad I got the chance to read this and I look forward to trying out more from this author.

I did find this a bit confusing to start with. I couldn't quite figure out what wad going on or where the plot wad going but once I got the hang of it then, wow! What a book. Its more than just a thriller, it also tugs on the heart strings aswell as making you really think. There are definitely some jaw dropping moments thrown in there aswell. A really cleverly written book and a really original concept

I found this book to be quite confusing at the start as there were so many characters. Once I remembered them all, it turned out to be a good read.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportuntity to read this ARC

I just finished The Homemaker and cannot say enough good things! What I loved most was that from cover to cover, I was hooked! The characters and the way the author tells their story is so intriguing. While I found the book somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed it!

The Homemaker by Shari J. Ryan is labeled as a psychological thriller packed with heart-pounding twists. The Homemaker actually has quite an intense storyline, and the ending was a shocker.

The story is told through alternating perspectives and timelines. The story shows how people are not always how they seem, how they present themselves, or how others see them. The story has the right mix of drama and suspense and keeps you on your toes to make sure you pay attention and follow what is occurring so you don't miss a thing.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and how she unfolded the events. A 4 out of 5 stars for me. I will check out more books by this author.

Finding the perfect house on the perfect street in the perfect town that is the perfect distance from work should be…well, perfect. Jenna and Oliver find a house that checks all their boxes. They meet a few of their new neighbors who seem to be harboring some secrets of their own and about the house’s previous owner. Jenna becomes inseparable with neighbor Peyton and both find themselves pregnant at the same time.

After giving birth to her son, River, Jenna is unable to get out of bed or be productive. When she’s told that River didn’t survive, she is overcome with denial. She remembers holding him, seeing his eyes fresh in the world, smelling his baby smell. Oliver puts her in a behavioral health center where she must confront the demons of what really happened. Meanwhile, we continue to piece together the fractured relationship between neighbors Peyton and Ginger, as well as clues into what they know and who they are. Is there something about Jenna’s house that makes them believe that her house is cursed?

This is my first Shari J. Ryan thriller I’ve read. I have read several of her historical fiction books. While the first half of the book was confusing me somewhat with the three main characters and trying to figure out what was exactly going on, in the back of my mind (a) I knew I had to keep reading and wouldn’t be disappointed and (b) I knew there was something about one of the neighbors (not spoiling by saying which one, but I was right) that didn’t quite add up. After the halfway mark, it all sped up and kept me hooked until the finish. The Homemaker is a great summer read, so make sure you go out and buy it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and for the advanced copy. Opinions expressed are my own. This book is set for publication on June 11, 2023.

I knew about this author, but I had never read one of her books. The ones I know about are historical and that is frankly not my cup of tea. And then I saw an announcement for a tour for her latest book and when I realised it was a thriller, I was thrilled too. I wanted to read it straight away.

It's crystal clear to me that a good author can write every genre they want to, because this story was sooo good. I had figured out something whole by myself ;), but boy oh boy the writer had a few more twists up her sleeve I did not see coming at all.

There is heartbreak, drama and suspense in this story and it's really sad to see what some people can come up with to set their world right. They believe it's their right because they have been wronged before. Consequences? That's not for them to think about. They come first and all the rest is considered collateral damage...

The book left me sitting with my mouth wide open on more than one occasion. I loved the writing style and I was captured by the story. I hope the author will continue to write thrillers. I am a big fan. 5 stars

Thank you

This book was confusing. It became problematic trying to discern the different characters and their voices. That being said, this talented author has written a suspenseful story of realistic fiction. Mysterious and intriguing at times. Sad, at others. Friends and family come together to get through difficult times. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to one of my favorite publishers. Thanks to a
terrific author.

What did I just read??!! I’m speechless after finishing this book. It was so flipping good. This story has suspense and drama, with characters you love to hate and hate to love. It’s full of everything you want in a read that grasps you from the first page until that last word. The twists and turns make this one book you won’t be able to put down. Be prepared to dive in and not come up for air until you hit the end. Well done!!! I will be recommending this to everyone.

Enthralling. Complex. Breathtaking. Hard to put down. It makes us doubt if we are certain who is to blame, knowing at the same time that there is something we are not quite grasping. Loved it.

Thank you to Bookouture & NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my opinion.

This fast paced thriller had me gripped from the very beginning! Told in alternating timelines of what happened before & after the incident.

We meet Jenna and Oliver who have just moved into their dream home in a close knit neighborhood. As they’re striking up friendships with their neighbors, Jenna becomes close to one particular neighbor Peyton.

Jenna and Peyton are soon the best of friends, and find out they’re both unexpectedly pregnant at the same time. But as their pregnancies progress, strange things begin to happen. And eventually Jenna is waking up groggy and confused, and told her baby was a stillborn during her homebirth. But Jenna would certainly know if her baby had been stillborn, right? As she works to uncover the web of what’s happened in this neighborhood, the pieces of the puzzle start to come together with the help of her other neighbor Ginger.

This entire book read like a lifetime movie, and would make a perfect one. I started to put the pieces together halfway through the book, but even I couldn’t guess the depth of why the twists happen, they were truly shocking.

This is a must read if you’re looking for a thriller!!!

**Trigger warning: stillbirth, traumatic birth, and mental health facilities

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. This book was confusing at first trying to keep track of all the characters and past and present. I have to say I had it figured out at about 40%. After that, I just skimmed it. Not a bad book but predictable for the most part.
