I enjoyed sitting down with this slow burn mystery full of secrets. This was an interesting read about Stephanie who disappers after a party and is never seen again. Until she is found murdered. Everybody saw something, but not everybody saw the same thing. I love books like this that throw suspicion around and you don't know who or what to believe. You are right along for the ride with the characters unraveling each detail, so you feel like you are part of the action, not just reading about it. I highly recommend to those readers that enjoy a slow burn mystery that will keep you guessing.

Stephanie was murdered five years ago while walking home from a friend's party. Her murder is still unsolved. Chris and Laura, Stephine's college friends, have teamed up to find the truth behind her murder by creating a podcast. Friendships are put to the test and hidden secrets are finally revealed.

I liked the alternating timelines that helped bring the reader along with things that happened that night. I was able to read the book fairly quickly and there was a good mystery around what really happened that night. Definitely will be purchasing for my library collection.

8 friends, one last party to celebrate their college graduation and the lives ahead of them. Except during the party, one of them ends up dead.

This was told in mostly two POVs, Chris and Laura. Chris hasn’t seen Laura and the others since that fateful night 5 years ago and now that he has a successful true crime podcast, he decides it’s time to revisit the unsolved murder of their close friend, Stephanie. Laura is reluctant to go down this road and so are the others who were there that night. Especially when they all have secrets they want to remain in the past. It’s up to Chris and Laura to get justice for their friend and unravel the mystery surrounding her death.

I really enjoyed the podcast aspect to this story and the storyline taking place in college with then and now timelines to reveal clues and questions. I didn’t exactly connect with a lot of the characters and found some to be so insufferable that it irked me during my read. The overall story was nicely done but I felt that wrapped up too quickly and it was a lackluster ending.

I loved this book from the prologue. The concept of two friends using a podcast to solve their friend’s murder years ago is so fun. Told from the perspectives of Laura & Chris,as well as a criminal, this book is so intense!
Thank you, Danielle Stewart, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

This is a slow burner for sure, but glad I stuck with it. Just who is keeping secrets and who is telling the truth.? After Stephanie goes missing we are taken on a journey, from the point of view of her friends via a podcast. I did enjoy it despite its slow start.

I loved the pace of this book. I also enjoy a book that has a podcast involved so a big tick for me. I couldnt put it down as I wanted to know more and more.

This is a book that is interesting. This pulled me in very quickly and became a book that I was unwilling to put down.

This introduces us to Chris and Laura, friends of Stephanie who was murdered on her way from a party. This murder still unsolved. This is an element that really kept me engaged from the beginning.

This is well written and well paced. I found myself wanting to piece the parts together to solve this one. This has been a book that has been a quick and easy read.

Stewart has filled this with twists and tension that has kept me hooked from the very first page. This is my first read by this author, it definitely won’t be the last. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Stewart has in store for us next.

This is a book that I have loved. I will definitely be recommending this one to other readers.

The Girl at the Party by Danielle Stewart is a decent psych thriller that mostly delivers in a unique way.
The reader knows something bad occurred that fractured a group of college friends. Some of them appear to have dealt with it better than others, but none of them are thrilled when one of them wants to revisit the case.
Apparently, a lot happened on the last night of college, and these so-called friends have been hiding many secrets from each other…for years.
I liked the concept of a podcast being the impetus for revisiting the cold case murder. However, I wish there had been more of it instead of just talking about it. I think the story could have benefitted from being broken up by podcast episodes.
It would have also made some of the reveals more dynamic. As it was, it often seemed like a lot of exposition as the two main characters, Laura and Chris, interviewed people and then discussed the podcast.
There were also a few characters who I thought would have figured more prominently – but they appeared briefly for an interview, a few brief mentions of their past involvement, and then essentially disappeared.
Even the victim in the whole situation gets pretty short shrift in the story. We never really get to know her…mostly through recollections.
While I think it all could have been told more dynamically, the author did a good job of keeping the reader guessing. And the resolution is not as straightforward as you may think.
I enjoyed The Girl at the Party and look forward to reading the next psych thriller from Danielle Stewart.

The Girl at the Party by Danielle Stewart
Narrated by Stephanie Cannon was a brilliant and totally addictive psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist at the end. This audiobook had me gripped from the beginning till the very end and I loved it.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

This was a good read, it wasd fast paced and caught my attention right form the beginning. The book starts with Stephanie who is at a party with seven of her best friends and leaves early, never to be seen alive again. Then here we are four years later and one fo the friensd has a podcast and decides to try to solve the murder. There were a few twists and misdirections to keep you guessing and I found I did not guess the ending. Great read!

“The Girl at the Party” by Danielle Stewart is a great thriller to read. It is told partially through the lens of a podcast but from the unique POVs from friends of the victim.

A popular podcaster takes it upon himself, alongside an old college friend, to cover a cold case murder of one of their college peers. With plenty of suspects, this book keeps the reader guessing.

I enjoyed every moment of this book and can’t wait to share it with my friends. Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Stewart, and Bookouture for this ARC.

This book is about a murder that happened at a college party. Years later, someone one decides to do a pod cast to try to solve the murder. Lots of twist and turns but it is a bit of a slow burner

This was a bit of a slow burner for me and took me a little while to get into but once I did, I really enjoyed it. It was a very compelling plot…. all about a murder that had taken place after a party and the decision several years later to find out who did it…… and I couldn’t begin to work out how Laura and Chris were going to solve this murder. I had no idea who did it and there were quite a few twists and turns with an ending I did not expect. Very good read.
