Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.

Nissa could use one word to describe herself, plain, she just simply was. If Nissa had to use a word to describe her best friend Benton, it would be beautiful, but Benton would describe himself differently as a beast riddled with his over sized body and scars. Benton gets a chance, thanks to a fairy godmother to become ideal man, which he thinks Nissa wants, but he is so wrong and now must decide to do what is best for Nissa despite his insecurity of losing her forever

Benton is the beast of this story, his not really a beast, his scarred. Benton has a hot body and is strong, he is also sweet when people get to know him but uses his scars to scare some people!

Nissa is a 'plain jane' wth a beautiful soul and kind personality.

These two live in a village in the woods and that's all I can tell you about their hometown! Its also set in a place where there is no technology, so in the past or as it states 'fairy tale' - the language used is in the story is up to date and there is some humour mixed in.

I really enjoyed this retelling of Beauty and the Beast, it has some twists and has a hidden message, there's more to people than looks.

I found both characthers deep enough to care about the outcome, they both have a stubborn streak and you wonder what will make them both come clean about how they feel - I will say when they do the cabin scene is very good ;). This book was easy to read in one sitting.

A good read would recommend.
