The cover made me smile. It truly shows how Wilhelmina feels when she tries magic. This story was humorous. She tries to do right and does just not fit in. Most teens feel this way but to her it is traumatic. After years in the witch world, she finds herself plopped into the normal world where her mom she didn't know lives. There is finds out about her family, her friends and her magic. Cleaver book!

This book was so much fun! It had a quirky, funny, and somewhat awkward main character! It had baking, magic, humor, and a cat all in one which made it the best light hearted easy ready! This definitely gave me cozy vibes and I was here for it!

4.5/5 ⭐️ I absolutely loved this short little book! It gave me the feelings of reading Harry Potter book 1, the young adult, young magic, innocence kind of feel. I love a main character that is quirky and a little awkward! I absolutely loved how the story progressed and even got pretty intense towards the end with the plot twists and betrayal! There was a lot of great story packed into a short little book! I am looking forward to more from Wilhelmina Quigley ❤️

Thank you so much to booksgosocial and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Wilhelmina a magic disaster, gets kicked out of magic school and is sent to live in the ordinary world with her mother. Soon she finds someone is stalking her parents and must get to the bottom of it, even with her messed up magic.

Wilhelmina was an interesting character, she brought some humour into the story with all her mishaps and her adjustment into the ordinary world, bursting her magic everywhere. She had a lot to figure out and a huge mystery right before here to solve once she reached the real world.

I liked that this book offered a lot of interesting elements such as we got her magic and the fantasy side with her being half witch, then we had a deep mystery to figure out surrounding her parents, plus she explores the new world making new friendships and having first crushes. There was a lot of different things combined together to make up this story.

It was interesting with her mother acting really strange and not how she was excepting her to be. I liked the determination she had that even though her magic was rocky she wouldn’t stop until she had solved the stalker mystery, figured out what was wrong with her mother and risk herself disappearing like her father. I really liked that she wasn’t going to allow it to go wrong.

If you are a fan of other books of this style I think you’d really enjoy this book. It’s funny and magical, it has a mystery that you’ll be gripped into solving and all her mishaps will make you laugh.

"A missing father. A mother bewitched. Wilhelmina must use her unpredictable magic to catch whoever—or whatever—is stalking her parents. Will her powers be enough to restore her family?" Wilhelmina is a witch who really doesn't want to be one. Will her wishes come to fruition?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Wilhelmina was a fun and hilarious character, but she also had a kind heart. She believed she was a loser when she was kicked out of school. Living with the humans not only opens her eyes to the truth but also to new things. This book was chock full of excitement, such as her first crush, her first major battle, and the revealing of dark secrets.

This book reminds me of "The Worst Witch" series but it somehow lacks the charm of that series.
Maybe the whole idea of witches in training has been done too many times already. I feel this is too young for the age demographic it’s aimed at.
Or I’m too old to get it,
Thanks netgalley and booksgosocial for the arc in exchange for a review.
