I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I knew how this book was going to end before it even started. I mean, it's a fluffy romcom.
Misunderstanding troupe (you weren't interested in me?)--check
Sexual attraction and thinking the "we'll just be sex buddies because we can snuggle and get warm and not freeze from the blizzard"--check

[ it is quite sexual in parts though ;) So certain audiences would need warning. (hide spoiler)]

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for giving me a digital copy of "Snowed In for Christmas" by Jaqueline Snowe in exchange for an honest review.
Sorority house mom Becca lives next door to Harrison, the college's football coach. They went on a single date two years ago, and although both supposedly had a good time and a steamy kiss afterward, Harrison ghosted her. Things have been awkward ever since. Why did he ghost her? His immediate reason was that because she's pretty, well-dressed, and friendly, she must also be high-maintenance. (Yes, I know.....Ugh).
Fast forwarding to present day, it's a few days before Christmas; all the house residents except Becca have gone home for the holidays and a blizzard strikes. There's a broken window in the house, no firewood, and then the power goes out. But you know who has lots of firewood? Harrison, of course! He trudges over and insists she hunker down at his place for the duration. Because the storm is predicted to have dangerously low temperatures, she has no choice but to get over her reservations and shelter with him.
Forced proximity works its magic, sorta. The first full day spent together is pretty dang cringe; they keep triggering each other but nobody explains why they're upset. He says something. She withdraws from the conversation. He makes assumptions about what caused that. Repeat. She says something, he withdraws, etc etc. After a full day of this, he gets around to explaining his ghosting behavior and apologizes.
By 3 am, they're curled up in front of the fireplace (because SHARING BODY HEAT is more effective than a million sweaters and every blanket in the house) and the naughty games begin. They then agree to a "blizzard buddy fling" which is just non-friends-with-benefits arrangement for the duration of the storm. Things progress from there. They have plenty of hanky panky, absurdly drive to his sister's house for Christmas (despite the roads not yet being cleared after a freaking BLIZZARD with 6 foot snow drifts but it's okay because he drives a big ole truck), and by the end of the book, they are in luuuuuuurve.
I spent so much of this book just being annoyed. Harrison's issue is that he has a deeply toxic family situation and that, in combination with an unsuccessful marriage a few years prior, has left him pretty messed up. Hence his assumption about Becca being high maintenance. He eventually confronts his terrible parents via video chat, and while that's a good first step, I just cannot help but think this guy needs some decent therapy before I can believe that he's going to be fair and present in any future relationships.
I just never really get the sense that Harrison likes or actually understands Becca. He goes from assuming she's too much work, to thinking she's Not Like Other Girls, to planning a proposal after spending three days alone together. It's just too fast, too superficial to believe. Another thing, and this is strictly a personal pet peeve, twice he calls her a "Good girl" when she agrees to something. The condescension of that phrase infuriates me. She's a grown-ass woman, not a golden retriever.
For her part, I found Becca slightly more likeable, but no more believable. She's kooky! She's colorful! She doesn't match her socks because she likes the surprise of looking down and seeing things jumbled together. Everybody likes her (except the million dates her mother set her up with after the initial Harrison fiasco). She knits because we all know that kooky, warm people like to play with yarn! She veers dangerously close to (but doesn't quite cross) the line of becoming a manic-pixie dream girl but only because she so gracefully handles the responsibility of being proxy parent to dozens of college students.
I hated the resolution to Harrison's professional issues. At the start of the story, the school football team is wallowing. Harrison believes it's because this bunch of players just don't have any drive, discipline, or desire to do what it takes. He has no idea how to engender team spirit, despite having played and coached the game for years. Ultimately, the team does pull together but only after one of the running backs gets into a terrible drunk driving accident and ends up in a coma. They all gather at the hospital and while the young man will never play ball again, the rest of the team is suddenly ready and willing to work together. So rather than use this as a chance to show real character growth on Harrison's part, he gets to rely on a catastrophic medical event to bring about the changes he wants to see. As a narrative device, it's cheap and gross.
I'll probably try another book by this author, because it isn't fair or accurate to base my opinions on just one sample. However, I am not looking forward to doing so.

Becca is a sorority house mom who is bubbly and vivacious and is constantly told by men that she is "too much". She's still smarting from being ghosted by her next door neighbor and the college's football coach, Harrison, two years ago. When they both find themselves snowed in alone during a once-in-a-lifetime storm, they hunker down together and end up finding out a lot more about each other.
I thought this was a really cute snowed-in holiday romance! For some reason, based on the cover, I assumed this was going to be closed door but it definitely wasn't!! I really liked Becca's character and her awkwardness and am glad that Harrison got to see beyond the bubbly personality to the insecurities as well. And as quiet as he is, he's also very supportive of her.
Read this for:
- Grump/Sunshine
- Holiday Romance
- Dual POV
- Forced Proximity
- Only One Bed
- Neighbors
The assumptions that both characters made definitely got a little old pretty quickly and the third act breakup was naturally all about a miscommunication which is one of my pet peeves. I really don't mind a third act breakup or conflict but I REALLY struggle with miscommunication when it's the only reason.
Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for the eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author. This is a quick fun read with likable characters. Awww…Christmas and snow make for a great story. Curl up in a cozy chair with a warm cozy blanket. Enjoy a cup of steaming herbal tea while being transported for an afternoon of enjoyment. I liked this book.

This was a cute take on a snowed in Christmas romance
Becca is a sorority house mom who went on a date with the football coach next door, Harrison, two years ago…and he ghosted her. Now, after everyone has left for the holiday break, a once in a lifetime blizzard hits, and Becca’s only options are freeze in the sorority house alone and keep safe and warm at Harrison’s house with him.
One of the things I really liked about this book was Becca and how she was unapologetically herself. Becca felt authentic in that, yes, she was happy and confident with who she was, but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt when men passed judgment on her or found her lacking after a single date. Harrison was a complicated figure. I liked seeing Becca break down his walls and that he eventually learned to stand up for himself and set boundaries with his family.
The forced proximity gave the two of them a chance to get to know who the other really was and allowed a genuine bond to form in short time.
As typically always for me, I wish they’d used their words more instead of assuming things or taking half-heard conversations to heart. Harrison ghosting Becca two years prior definitely left a mark on her, and I wish they’d really hashed it out more in-depth than what they did, particularly before things turned physical during their time as “blizzard buddies.” I felt satisfied with their relationship in the end, but wanted some more real discussion about their past before they moved on from it.
Overall all this was a quick read and a fun forced proximity Christmas romance read with genuine and likable characters.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Grand (Grand Central) for the opportunity to read Snowed in for Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe. What a fun way to spend a few days during a major blizzard! Whoa! Loved the characters and the sizzling sex.

I received a free copy of, Snowed In for Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Becca is a house mom for a sorority, and a big storm is blowing into town. Harrison the football coach offers her shelter from the storm. I just could not get into this book, and I really tried. I did not care for Becca or Harrison at all.

A nice feel-good book! I loved the settings and characters. Becca was totally unapologetic about her quirky personality. I loved her confidence and how she stood by what she enjoyed! On the other hand, Harrison was pretty good as a male lead. When he realized he had to work on himself, he got right to it. Overall they were a great combination.
Sidenote: There's some miscommunication which I personally hate but it got resolved pretty quickly so I wasn't bothered much.

I have a weakness for Christmas themed romances. They're just so cozy and happy, and this one is no exception. Neighbors who went on a date 2 years ago (a date that went well... until he ghosted her after) suddenly find themselves shacked up together during a crazy snowstorm with no power. There's only a single mattress cozied up by the fire.. for them to keep warm. She's adorably kooky, and he's a sad grump who needs a little sunshine in his life. Adorable. Surprisingly spicy. Just a touch of Christmas cheer and a lot of close proximity. Definitely read if you're a fan of holiday romances that aren't too Christmas heavy

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Well wasn’t this a fun and quick book for “Christmas in July”. It was a basic romcom where girl and boy are stuck together, lots of attraction, lots of laughs and lots of sex! 😳 So speaking of the sex, that’s why I knocked one star off. I thought the sex itself was passionate but the conversations before, after, and ESPECIALLY during were kinda cringy at times. I could have done without all the actual narration from the characters about what they are going to do. 🤣
As far the characters, I really liked both Becca and Harrison. Becca made me laugh with all her random facts and rambling…but I also felt bad for her that she had so many insecurities.
Overall, I do recommend this one if you’re looking for a fun romcom. Is it predictable? Yes, but aren’t most books like this predictable?
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Snowed In for Christmas by Jaqueline Snowe is a joyful debut romcom!
The absolute perfect grumpy/sunshine holiday story.
This book was the cutest rom-com ever I swear!
The chemistry and banter between Becca and Harrison was perfection right from the start.
I also really liked the grumpy/grumpy trope in this book, it made the characters all the more entertaining.
They were the cutest Blizzard Buddies ever and I loved rocking the Snowpocalypse with these two.
It was amusing and kept me interested, an absolute delight.
If you’re looking for a cozy, holiday read with characters you want to root for this is your book.

“Top five.” I smiled at him. “Kissing you is in my top five favorite things.”
His grin stretched across his entire face. “You’re my favorite thing.”
Becca and Harrison. She’s the quirky, talkative sorority mom and he’s the quiet, grumpy football coach that lives next door. They went on a date two years ago but he ghosted her, now they’re stuck in a blizzard together.

WOWZER!! I’ve read other books by Ms. Snowe before but this grumpy/sunshine romance was amazing!!
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5
Let me just start off by saying that it being July I was really looking for an amazing book to kick off my Christmas in July reads. I am Christmas obsessed and when I found this book on Netgalley… instant need!! Especially because the Moo U series is really good and I couldn’t wait to see what Snowe did with a Christmas book, and honestly I was not left disappointed.
We start off with a sorority house mom, Becca, who has had a string of bad luck with love, but who is honestly happy with her life, loves her job, and while may have a few insecurities is honestly just content to let the chips fall where they may and if live comes a knocking well she’ll be ready to open the door. And a record blizzard may just be what she needs for love to come a knocking… in the form of the campus grump… otherwise known as the football coach, Coach Cooper, who lets just say may have a bit of history with our house mom. When a busted window, a power outage, and a blizzard force them together for survival though… let’s just say the fireplace isn’t the only thing sparking!!
Speaking of sparks flying… the chemistry between Becca and Coach Cooper aka Harrison was literally amazing!! I mean they are written in a way that’s so believable I felt like I was reading about two of my friends falling in love! I adored Becca, her sunshiny and colorful personality just sucked me right in and I was rooting her from page one!! She was fun loving, and a bit of a klutz, and disorganized in the best way, as well as having all these seemingly useless but interesting facts to spout at a moments notice (a skill I relate to more than I’d like to admit…) which just made her beyond lovable. Pair that with her heart of gold that was ready to help anyone and everyone and how could you not be rooting for her happily ever after!! And who would be a better match to our colorful, goofball, sunshine but the campus grump, known for only wearing neutrals or his teams colors and seems to be allergic to smiling but the infamous Harrison Cooper. He has been in a bit of a funk since nothing seems to be going his way, his wife left, his football team seems more concerned with partying than winning games, and his family is more focused on babying his little brother who is more concerned with acting like a child than an adult than to even consider their other children. When he helps out his ball of sunshine neighbor though, his walls slowly start to come crumbling down when he realizes that just maybe there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel he has been stuck in. If he’s just willing to let a few of his walls come down. And once those walls start coming down there’s nothing holding these two back from falling in love… even if there’s a few bumps in the road!! But I’ll let y’all read this book to know a bit more!!
If you’re looking for a grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, romance with seriously opposite attracts vibes then with a Christmas background setting than this is absolutely the book for you. And it is one I highly recommend!!

Snowed in for Christmas is really, really ridiculously adorable.
It is also as steamy as it is sweet, like a spiced cup of hot cocoa. Harrison and Becca's chemistry is equal parts endearing and sexy. I'm very impressed with how the author was able to balance cute moments with spicy scenes. It never felt like one overwhelmed the other.
All in all, this is exactly what you'd expect: a cute, quick and easy holiday read that you could easily finish during one winter evening by the fireside.

❄️ ARC REVIEW ☕️
Review: 4.75/5 ⭐️
Steam: 3/5 🔥
#snowedinforchristmas is a holiday standalone written by @jaquelinesnowe
Harrison is a college football coach and grumpier than the grinch. With a scowl always on his face, he’s not the most approachable guy. But when an unfortunate blizzard comes to town, he puts his attitude aside to help his neighbor, Becca. The girl he ghosted two years ago, the girl who’s his opposite in every way, the girl he’s now helping so she doesn’t freeze to death. For someone always wanting his own space, this blizzard is testing him. But what if he was all wrong about Becca and what he wanted out of life? He was always hearing the negatives from his ex wife and some family members, so what happens when the girl next door starts to show him what life is like with positive energy?
Becca is the sorority house mom and treats these girls like they are her own. She’s full of life, love and happiness, even if she hides some of the hurt deep down. Not being taken seriously by guys she tries dating or some other adults, she sees the good in life. All she wants is time to relax alone during the holiday break. Until this blizzard makes her leave her home. She settles in with her grumpy neighbor and tries to make the best of their frigid situation. Can she use this as an opportunity to prove to herself she’s worthy of love or will she end up more broken hearted than before the snowfall?
Harrison is a grumpy gills, but he silently showed Becca that he was a good guy underneath. The way he helped her be comfortable made your heart soar. Becca was unique and amazing. She had the best heart in the world and just needed someone to appreciate it. These two had lit each other on fire with their stolen glances and touches. Especially when they needed to be together for survival purposes; obviously. But man were they awkward turtles when they tried to act “normal”. Harrison didn’t know how to express himself and Becca thought she did it too much. They complimented each other perfectly! It might be a holiday themed book, but who wouldn’t want to pretend it’s Christmas in July? Definitely recommend.

Becca is a sorority mom, and she lives next door to the hunky yet grumpy football coach Harrison. Becca has always been told she’s too much, too blonde, too bright, too happy. Harrison has always been told he’s too grumpy and closed off. When the blizzard of a lifetime hits during winter break, and Becca’s sorority house is uninhabitable, Harrison offers to let her stay with him until she can return home. Neither of them expected the sparks to fly. They agree to be “blizzard buddies” for the duration…but feelings have a sneaky way of coming to head.
Ah I love a well done grumpy sunshine book and this one delivered. Often the grump gets made out to be a complete jerk, but that was not the case here. Harrison’s character was well done, and he was perfectly grumpy while only being a little bit of a jerk but not too much. And Becca was a breath of fresh air. It would have been so easy to write her as a complete ditz because she likes bright colors and works as a sorority house mom. The author really did her justice though, just because you are a happy go lucky, sunshine person, does not mean you are not a strong and wonderful woman. In fact, while I was reading about Becca, I was thinking of my amazing friend @joannas_books_baubles. I also loved the forced proximity of this book. Being trapped together during a blizzard.
If you are looking for a super sweet and amazingly written Christmas book, then check this one out.
Thank you so much to the publisher Forever (Grand Central Publishing) @readforeverpub and Netgalley, @netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Additional links will be added once posted.

Becca has heard too often that she is too much. She is the house mom for a college sorority, always has a smile, and wears a rainbow of colors. Her nextdoor neighbor, Harrison, is the college football coach. The two of them went on a first date a few years ago, but he never called afterwards.
Now it's winter break. The students have all left campus. And a terrible blizzard hits taking power with it.
I recommend this for everyone who likes:
Grump sunshine
Forced proximity
Only one fireplace
Getting steamy when it's below zero outside
It's a sweet Christmas novel that moves quickly. I loved the secondary characters, especially the kids and the sorority girls who live in Becca's house. There are some serious topics as well that add an emotional tone.
Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.

All the heart eyes for this book! I wanted a swoon heavy book for a Christmas in July feel and Jaqueline Snowe provided just that!
Becca & Harrison couldn’t be more opposite of each other, so that must be why he didn’t call her after their first date, right? An act of bizarre nature forced these two to spend a few frigid nights together in a once in a lifetime blizzard - that can only be good, right?!
This book was fun, creative, funny, & romantic.

This was my first Jaqueline Snowe novel, and I think I'm a fan. The Christmas/holiday romcom vibes definitely hit the spot for me in Snowed in for Christmas, but it did take a minute for me to warm up the characters.

I absolutely loooove Christmas romcoms and this one was great! A fun easy read that I read in 24hrs. Definitely would recommend!
