Initial Thoughts: This is one of those books that feels like a really sweet (and sometimes a little spicy) palate cleanser. It was a quick and easy light read. I didn’t necessarily find the chemistry between the leads overwhelmingly convincing, particularly in the first half, but by about half way I was invested enough to enjoy listening. While this is technically a boss/employee trope, FMC was a temp fill in and there was not much focus on the workplace. Instead the MMC asks FMC to be is fake fiancée for a family reunion up at the family camp. I think the camp vibes really gave it that extra enjoyable vibe. Now that I’m thinking about it, very much giving “The Proposal” (with Ryan Reynolds) vibes with vibrant side characters and scenic locale.

For Reader Awareness: There aren’t really any triggers unless a cranky old grandma trigger you.

Recommended for: I feel like this is a great read for just that quick palate cleanser between emotionally heavy reads.

Audio Notes: I didn’t *love* the narrator, but I didn’t hate her. At default speed (my car will only play audio books at 1x 😩) she was giving Michelle Duggar vibes, but at 1.5x she was much more tolerable. Sometimes she felt like an adulterer adult but the FMC was a teacher by trade, so she probably is an adultier adult than I.

First off, I will say that I was not a fan of the narrator. She sounded robotic like an AI voice reading text. The inflections and tones were off and never quite matched what was being read. This really hindered my experience with the book, and was most definitely partially at fault for my low rating.

Second, this is just not a good book. In terms of spicy romances, this is bottom tier. There was little relationship building, and I didn’t feel the chemistry at all. I wasn’t engaged for a majority of the book, even when I was concentrating. I found myself forgetting what I had just heard 5 seconds ago. The worst part of it all is that I never felt it was worth going back and re-listening. So I moved on and never felt like I was missing anything.

The storyline had a lot of potential, but coupled with the “meh” quality of everything else, I gave it a generous 2 stars because it wasn’t the worst book ever, but I’m not sure I would waste my time on another book by this author because of how underwhelmed I felt after this one.

I had to wait until I got up north to review this book because the setting of this story is mostly at a cabin for a family reunion. It was the perfect story to read right before vacation to get me ready for our trip!

This is a super short spicy romance centered on the fake dating trope - which you all know I love! Penny is a teacher who takes a summer job helping out at her friend’s company. She signs up to be the boss’s secretary but little does she know the job will entail a lot more than answering phones and emails. She ends up accompanying him to his family reunion as his fake fiancée. And it is amazing!

There is definitely some grumpy/sunshine going on here as Jace embodies the grumpy billionaire boss. If you love a steamy fake dating romance this is the perfect quick summer read!

Thank you @Netgally and @DreamscapeMedia for this #audiobook #arc .

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5/5

Tropes are a big thing right now, or rather a more openly discussed and well advertised for appealing for the right demographic. This one has a few of the current popular tropes including fake-dating, grumpy sunshine, billionaire love interest, and one bed. So, if you're looking for one of these items (or more than one) then this sweet read is going to be one you love.

Let us talk it out. We have Jace, the reclusive billionaire who hasn't the time to date or fall in love. Jace has a family reunion to go to with a family that gives him a hard time for never coming around or having a significant other. Enter Penny, an elementary school teacher who is helping her friend out over the Summer to be assistant to Jace, while her friend is on maternity leave. Plus side is extra money that she needs to take her mom to Paris. Jace talks Penny in to being his fake fiancé and of course they get to know each other on this week long trip. So, we have an interesting family dynamic at this family reunion. Grandma is a bit sassy and really kind of hateful, but she is also kind of the one that pushes Jace and Penny closure together. She is also the one that embarrasses the crap out of Penny on multiple occasions.

Overall, we have a sweet little love story that happens in the span of one week, which is almost like insta-love IMO. We shall give that a pass since they are pretty much spending every moment together and have lots of time to get to know one another. For the age of our MCs they are very immature, but that's ok too because it makes their story a little better, slightly irritating when we have that much self-doubt. We do have some spicy scenes! Actually the most spice I've read in a few months! Don't expect it right from the start, we have no remote spice in sight until about half way through.

The narrator did a fantastic job with the characters of this book. I love the voices she displayed of our elderly family members and she was able to bring out the humor that was very present in this book.

This is a fun romantic comedy with all the fun tropes being brought to life. It gives you exactly what you're expecting with just the right amount of spice sprinkled in. It is a short one so you'll be able to breeze right through. I found myself laughing out loud to quite a few parts of this story, which made the whole plot that much more fun. It is definitely worth a read.

I listened to this book in a day! It was SO good!
Who doesn't want a fun, humorous, sexy, beach read?! This one checked off all the boxes for sure. The characters were great, well developed and witty. While it was predictable, it was easy and fun to listen to the story unfold. The narrator did a wonderful job. The heat was just sexy enough without being so overwhelming I would be embarrassed to listen to it in public.
Job well done Ms Reynolds.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing company for the ARC. I wasn't disappointed and will be recommending immediately!

4 ⭐️
This was a nice, short read! Predictable romance novel, so I could’ve done with a bit more action/something to switch things up. A few spicy scenes throughout which was nice.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publishers for allowing me to listen to this!

Fake fiancee at a family reunion? Sign me up.

Elementary school teacher, Penny, takes a summer job to save money for a trip to Paris. Now she's flying off on her boss's private jet to his family's lake house as his pretend fiancee. What she doesn't bargain on is actually liking the workaholic and his huge dysfunctional family. It's time to fly home, but is their agreement over?

Steamy scenes and hilarious lake front antics. This story is one POV and narrator Pippa Jayne does the voices of all the characters.

This is the first audiobook (and I think title in general) I’ve read from this author. The story follows main character Penny who comes to work for Jace over summer break.

Jace demands that Penny joins him on a family reunion type weekend with the promise of $50k in return for posing as his fake fiancé.

I do enjoy a good fake fiancé trope because of the forced closeness which inevitably leads to real feelings. I really liked the premise of the big family fun weekend and all the key components of pretending to be someone’s fiancé. However with this one I didn’t think that the platonic relationship was developed enough between Jace and Penny to really get on board with the insta love feelings at the end.

I really enjoyed listening to For nEver! It is a new boss, fake-engagement, one bed story line. Though there wasn't anything particularly scandalous or twisty, the characters are easy to root for with an enjoyable (but predictable) plot. The narrator did a fabulous job. I would definitely add this to your summer reading list if you're looking for a quick and spicy romcom!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

3.5/5⭐️

This was a super cute little romance! It wasn’t anything too special which is why it’s getting a 3.5⭐️ but I really enjoyed my time listening to the audiobook of it.

This is a boss, fake engagement romance set primarily at a lake house during a family reunion. The setting was super fun, and gave off the perfect summer vibes. I love the tension and angst of a fake dating romance and this one did not disappoint! It had the only one bed trope as well, which I love.

I liked the characters but I found they weren’t anything special. I think they lacked depth which brought down my rating a bit. I also found they fell in love a bit too quick for me, the insta-love also dragged the rating down a bit.

Overall, I did enjoy this and had a really good time listening to it. The narrator did a great job and would definitely recommend picking this one up, especially if you like books like The Hating Game and The Spanish Love Deception!

Ever gotten a mean boss who forced you to go out of town with him?

"For nEver" by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the story between Penny and Jace. It's a fake engagement + workplace romance! Penny decides she is going to get a second job to help save, but when her best friend leaves her job of being an assistant to the CEO. She asks Penny to help. While her friend warns her not to fall for the handsome boss, Jace introduces himself in not the greatest way. It's quite a fun story. Lots of rom-com moments for sure. Their love story is unique but beautiful.

Penny as a character is relatable. Her fears of the future and how she reacts in situations. She is so loveable it honestly made my heart ache. While I wish that they had made sure to end the book with more of her family and friends. Jace was the perfect grump! His development throughout the book was *chef's kiss* He learns to overcome his fears and issues. While he doesn't like the situation he is in, he still tries to be the best son he can be this time around. Jace's family is something else, but spending a WEEK all together with SO MANY PEOPLE!!

The only thing that would have made this book 5 stars would be having Jace's POV. I wanted to know what he thought of Penny the whole time. Although there were other things I found to have made me want to scream, they were purposeful and needed to build our characters. BUT NOT JACE'S GRANDMA HEARING THINGS...

I received the audio version of this book from NetGalley. The narration is done by Pippa Jayne and was done beautifully.

It is a spicy and steamy read, definitely, a must-read!

I listened to the audio version of this book, which was narrated by Pippa Jayne. I enjoyed the book as it was a quick and easy listen that kept me entertained while not needing to be too in depth. I think Pippa did a good job as the FMC and her voice as the MMC wasn't horrible.

Penny begins working for Jace as a favor to a friend that has gone out on maternity leave but also because she needs the money to help her mom pay off her medical bills. Jace is a genius that owns his own gaming/tech company and is not the easiest person to work for. Penny is now his assistant and cannot stand him. But he ends up needing her to come on a trip with his family at the last minute and needs her to pretend to be his fiance. While spending time together, begin to see another side of each other and find that they don't quite hate having to spend time together. I enjoyed their banter and the humorous parts (mostly Penny getting hurt as she is very accident prone). While they were only on vacation together for a week, it felt like longer and allowed their chemistry to build. The only issue I had was with the ending. By the end, they had only known each other for about 2 1/2 weeks and I just felt like the timeline could have been dragged out more.

The romantic in me absolutely loved this book! Jace and Penny were so cute and fun to read about that I couldn't put this book down. Their story was sweet, spicy, and so much fun. When it comes to fake dating tropes, I'm all over it and I love the way they turn out every time.

These two were no exception and I fell hard for their love as I listened. Aurora does a great job at giving us this great fake romance all while Jace and Penny are falling in love with each other for real. The book made me laugh, smile, and blush. Their chemistry was written so well and it felt like I got a real insight look when it came to Penny. Where Jace's perspectives felt lacking a little - there weren't any chapters from his perspective (in the ARC) so it felt like there were times when I only got half the story or their budding romance, Penny's definitely made up for it.This was a great book and one I'll definitely be picking up again to read!

Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

For nEver by Aurora Rose Reynolds was a fun, quick, contemporary romance, and a great audiobook experience.

Penny is not a secretary. She's a school teacher. But when her best friend has a baby and goes on maternity leave, she agrees to fill in as a temporary secretary for Jace Ellis, a tattooed tech mogul. Their first meeting isn't great, but she's determined to make this job work. So she's incredibly surprised when he calls her early on a Saturday morning, asking her to take a trip with him. She assumes it's a work trip, but she quickly discovers he has something completely different in mind. He needs her to pose as his fiancée for a week-long-vacation with his family, in exchange for fifty thousand dollars. How can she say no, especially since they're already on their way?

His family is naturally shocked when he introduces Penny and announces their engagement. Penny has given Jace strict rules about what is and isn't acceptable during this arrangement of theirs, but they both quickly throw the rules out the window as attraction and desire builds between them. She has to keep reminding herself that while she's falling for both Jace and his family, this was only supposed to be temporary.

This one was almost too insta-lovey for me, but as I can attest from personal experience, sometimes insta-love turns into lasting love, and that's what happens for Jace and Penny. Reynolds stays just on the right side of believability. (Although even if she hadn't, we don't always need believability in romance novels. That's part of what makes them so much fun.)

The narrator, Pippa Jayne, delivers an excellent performance. Her male voice is believable and not at all distracting.

I listened to this on audio and really enjoyed it. The narrator, Pippa Jayne, was fantastic. This is the first book from Aurora Rose Reynolds that I read and had no idea what to expect from her.

I was pleasantly surprised with this audiobook and throughly enjoyed it.
I love a fake engagement/forced proximity and though all the additional tropes were well done.

I wish this was dual POV because as a reader you could tell that Jace had reached his “I’m screwed” point but Penny was oblivious to it. I love a he falls first and I wish we got to see/hear more of that from his perspective.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. The narrator was breathy and I will steer clear of other titles she narrates from now on.
Enemies to lovers, these characters fell in love by chance in 1 week. Far fetched? Yes. Impossible NO! A fondness grows over this week to create a basis for a lifetime of love. I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down.

Cute, sultry, fun read. She needed extra money so she takes a job as Jace's assistant. Penny didn't know it was going to go the way it did, now she's spending a week with his family pretending to be his fiancé and she falls in love with them and him too. I really liked this story it was fun and light.

This was a really cute and quick read.

It kind of reminded me of The Proposal.

It was fairly low angst and I enjoyed that there wasn’t really a 3rd act breakup.

Thank you to the publisher for the ALC.
