Lynn Cahoon has an impressive back library that includes many series, all excellent reads. This is book #3 in The Survivor's Book Club series....as in surviving health scares. Rarity Cole is a breast cancer survivor who has opened a book store and surrounded herself with like minded people. She spends her days with friends and family and giving a assist to the Sedona PD. In DEATH IN THE ROMANCE AISLE, Rarity becomes involved in an investigation when a young woman employee is found murdered and a friend's brother is the chief suspect. Ms Cahoon is an expert on what her fans want and consistently gives us mysteries that will not be solved until the last chapter. Her series have been running for many years and her fans just keep asking for more.

The third book in this series about Rarity Cole who runs a bookstore in Sedona and also organises a support group for cancer survivors like herself.

When one of her employees is murdered and her best friend's brother is the main suspect, Rarity and her group of survivors and wannabe sleuths leap into action. Help is also forthcoming from her boyfriend, Archer, and a tiny bit from her dog, Killer.

This book is nice, easy reading with interesting characters, several possible suspects and a satisfying mystery. Well worth reading. Four stars.

Death in the Romance Aisle is the newest Lynn Cahoon novel set in Sedona and about Rarity, the breast cancer survivor turned bookstore owner. When her new employee is murdered, all eyes focus on Marcus, Rarity’s best friends brother. As she and the book club sets out to find the real killer, danger follows. A cute story, it took me way longer to read than it should have since life was pretty busy. I did enjoy it though, and am grateful to NetGalley for the chance.

“Death in the Romance Aisle” by Lynn Cahoon book 3 in the Survivors Book Club Mystery series. I love this series, it’s entertaining full of loveable characters and a furbaby named Killer. Once again the story was engaging, really well-written, and I love the setting in the desert town of Sedona Arizona.

Rarity is excited about expanding the romance section of her store—but not nearly as excited as her best friend Sam is about reuniting with her brother after many years. Marcus makes the trek from California to Arizona, is welcomed with a party, and hints that he may stick around now that remote work is an option.

But is it just a coincidence that not long after his arrival, a body is found near a local swimming hole? Especially considering that the dead woman had recently gone on a date with him—and even worse, that Marcus has a startling secret in his past? The police suspect him, but Rarity hopes to find another explanation before Sam is once again separated from her sibling—by prison walls . . .

The protagonist Rarity was intelligent, likeable, and the friends she made were people I would like to hang out with especially Sam, Shirley, Archer and Drew. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the story and I like where the romance between Rarity and Archer is going.

I can't wait for the next instalment!

I highly recommend this cozy mystery series to all my friends who love a cozy with a strong support system of friends in it.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this third book in the series. The Survivors' Book Club is back with a new murder to solve. Unfortunately, this victim is a young woman known and liked by them all. Janey is a graduate student that Rarity hired to run children's book clubs at the bookstore. She is overflowing with enthusiasm and ideas of how to make the book clubs special and help Rarity improve the romance section. When her body is found by a quarry Rarity is shocked and determined to find out who would want to murder the serious and likable young woman.
Unfortunately, Sam's brother Marcus is in town after a long absence and has secrets in his past that push him to the front of the suspect list. It doesn't help that he was one of the last people seen with Janey. Rarity now has to figure out how to protect her friend and help with the investigation at the same time. There are definitely some bumps on the road - especially since Sam's boyfriend, Drew, is the lead detective on the case.
I was really glad to see the book club take a more active role in this book than they had in the last book. It's no secret that I love a mystery solved by a collaborative effort and a mystery solved by a book club turned sleuthing club is kind of a guarantee of a winning book for me. I enjoyed being back in Rarity's world seeing her run her bookstore and her life in Sedona. The writing pulled me in from the first page and made me feel like I was visiting friends. I've enjoyed Lynn Cahoon's books for years and while I was lukewarm on the second book in this series I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing more of Rarity in the future.

I like the dynamic between the book/sleuthing club members. I am beginning to get a little annoyed with Rarity. She is starting to get a little too arrogant about her sleuthing abilities. I want a Shirley in my life!

Death in the Romance Aisle by Lynn Cahoon is #3 in the Survivors' Book Club series. Rarity is a bookshop owner who is establishing her business in a  new town. So far it's been going fairly well although she also has a nose for smelling out a local murder and getting involved. She has a team of book club participants who work with her to solve these crimes.

The mystery was good, there were about three possible characters I had my eye on and in the end it was no surprise when this person showed up.

I like the characters and Killer the dog, that Rarity has adopted after the first murder she worked on. Set around a bookshop is of course good and I enjoyed seeing the book clubs develop. One little twitch for me was that I would have liked to see the naming of actual books. This is done in a couple of places. However I think the series would be enhanced by adding in actual names of books.

This was an okay read for me, I liked it enough to be interested in reading the next one to see how things develop before I finally make up my mind about this series.

Death in the Romance Aisle is book #3 in the Survivors' Book Club Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon.

Rarity is expanding the Romance section of her bookstore and adding in new book clubs. Her best friend’s brother is coming to town and back into Sam’s life. When he is connected to a murder, can the book club sleuths clear his name?

The main characters in this book are wonderful. Shirley’s role was so heartwarming. And what people did for one of the children had me tearing up. The murder mystery kept me guessing - I was sure I had it figured out but I was wrong. For me, the characters and their support for each other is my favorite part.

Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Rarity is living her best life in Arizona. She has a boyfriend who actually cares about her. She has a group of good friends. Her bookstore is so busy she’s trying to hire help. She hires two local college students and is excited for the future. Unfortunately, one of the college students is found dead and the main suspect is her best friend’s brother. The book club aided by Drew’s father is on the job I loved this book and enjoy where the story is heading

I love bookstores and would love to join Rarity in hers. I always hate for someone nice to die, but it was a great story line. I absolutely loved how everyone gathered around Rarity to protect her. What awesome friends! Great story and even better characters. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

This is the third book in the Survivors' Book Club mystery series which is centered around a bookstore in Sedona, Arizona. The main character, Rarity Cole, and most of the other members of her Tuesday night book club are cancer survivors. They do discuss books in their club, but also solve real life murders.

This time the case hits close to home because the brother of one of their members is the prime suspect, and group members have mixed feelings about his guilt. Rarity's best friend Sam is certain of her brother's innocence and won't hear one word against him, even when the group is just speculating on possibilities as part of their investigation. Rarity hopes the case can be resolved before the wrong person has to pay the price, and also before friendships within their group are destroyed beyond repair.

This book is probably my favorite of the series, so if you've been following the series, you will enjoy it! If you're new to the book, you can catch on to the mystery with no problems but the first book does give a better introduction to the main characters.

I received this book from Lyrical Press, Kensington Books, and NetGalley at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Death in the Romance Aisle by Lynn Cahoon is another of her Survivor’s Club books and it is good to be back to Sedona. Rarity is in a good place. In fact, she has hired two new employees: Janey and Caleb, both students from NAU in Flagstaff. Their primary duties will surround the new book clubs the store is sponsoring. Darby, her first employee, is off to Ireland to study for a year. Everything else is going smoothly. Sam’s brother, Marcus is in town to visit. He works in IT so he can work anywhere and Sam is hoping a move is in his future. Archer and Rarity attend a going away party for Darby but as part of the “older generation” leave early with Drew and Sam and go to dinner. It is obvious that Janey and Marcus are taken with one another. The next day, Drew arrives with bad news: Janey’s body has been found near a quarry filled with water. The Tuesday Night Book Club kicks it into gear, all but Sam: Marcus is the prime suspect.

This is truly a cozy series, totally character-driven, although the mystery was a good one. One never knows what will drive a person to murder. It is so sad. Things get so scary that Drew decides that Rarity needs someone with her 24 hours a day, so Archer takes the night shift and various others take the day shift. Jonathon, Drew’s dad has driven up from Tucson and take quite a few of the shifts. She discloses to her that he is writing a book and can use the time to force himself to write. It works and he makes tremendous progress. These people lead magical lives, and well they deserve it after dodging cancer. Cahoon writes a good mystery, with plenty of twists and turns. This one, in particular, used twins, so that is always tricky. Sad to say good-bye to a potentially exciting new character. But, shortly life goes back to normal as the between the book club and the police solve the crime.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Death in the Romance Aisle by Kensington Books. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Kensington #LynnCahoon #DeathInTheRomanceAisle

Super! Book 3 in this series is quite a delight. I continue to enjoy the characters and the mystery was filled with plenty of clues, a few strong characters, and a good number of red herrings.

The Survivors Book Club mystery series is set in Sedona, Arizona. It features a cast of characters that is more mid-30s than 20s. Rarity Cole survived breast cancer and uprooted her midwestern life to buy a building in Sedona and open a bookstore. I have enjoyed the other books in the series.
Death in the Romance Aisle is a wonderful addition. Rarity is expanding the book club offerings at the bookstore. She hires two graduate students to run the kids book clubs. Janey and Caleb are interesting and enthusiastic. The book club kids bring something fresh and fun to the story.
Death returns to haunt the scene and the Tuesday night survivors book club returns to sleuthing. I enjoy how the police detective’s father Jonathan gets involved in helping with the investigation.
Drew, Archer and Jonathan do much to try to keep Rarity safe during this investigation. She reacts with a lot of maturity in accepting their watch care.
I understood the focus of the investigation being where it was, but there was a person mentioned early on that popped up in places they shouldn’t that I suspected. I still wonder why they were mentioned but in the end there was nothing tying up that loose end.
I think to fully appreciate Rarity Cole and company you’ll want to start reading at the first book in the series.
I happily recommend Death in the Romance Aisle.
Thanks to Netgalley and Lyrical Press for the opportunity to review this book.

Lynn Cahoon's books are an automatic read for me. I enjoy her writing style, her characters, and plots. I like the bookstore setting and the food, coffee themes. In this new story, Rarity has hired college students to help the shop and is starting some new book clubs for children and youth, in addition to the Survivors Book Club. They are working out wonderfully until one of her new hires is killed. A connection to the brother of her best friend Sam is making things awkward because he and Janey were together about the time she was killed. To complicate matters, something from his past makes it worse. But Rarity and her friends put their sleuthing hats on to find answers. There are several avenues to investigate and different suspects to check out. This is nice new episode in the life of Rarity, Archer, and friends.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. All thoughts are mine.

This series is full of such well-developed characters of different backgrounds as well as generations that blend seamlessly to make a cohesive group of friends and sleuthing partners! The Survivors book club was started by Rarity, our main character and bookshop owner, for fellow cancer survivors and their support teams, but has morphed into a solid group of friends who also tend to poke into local crimes to help solve the mystery. One of their own is at the center of this mystery and it is tearing at the fabric of the friendships. Can the group solve it fast enough to save the friendships or will the fabric be torn beyond repair. I've long been a fan of this author, but I must confess that this series is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. The cast is a bit more mature and the relationships more real to make for an overall deeper reading experience. I absolutely can't wait for the next book to come out!

Thank you so much for this early copy! This was such a cozy and fun read. I enjoyed the main character. Great characters overall and a twisty little storyline. Highly recommend

"Death In The Romance Isle" by Lynn Cahoon is a decent addition to the cozy mystery genre. Rarity Cole, the protagonist, is a relatable character, and her journey as a breast cancer survivor running a bookstore and support group is inspiring. The themes of friendship and second chances are heartwarming and well-executed.

However, the book falls short in a few areas. The plotline feels a bit predictable, and the resolution of the mystery lacks the excitement and twists that avid mystery readers might crave. While the idea of combining a bookstore with a murder mystery is intriguing, the execution could have been more engaging.

The character dynamics and relationships are the highlight of the story, with the friendship between Rarity and Sam being particularly endearing. The book captures the essence of their bond effectively.

Overall, "Death In The Romance Isle" is a pleasant read for those looking for a light and cozy mystery, but it doesn't break new ground in the genre. It's a decent choice for a relaxed afternoon read, but don't expect it to keep you on the edge of your seat.
